VG & InTheShed Are Darin' To Grow Varin From Weed Seeds Express

Doug's Varin is looking a little perkier today (day 17):

And here are the roots, more on this side of the cup than the other:

I don't know why it's perkier today other than it's getting over whatever was bugging it the last few days. Still chilly in the house at night so it's not temp-related. Oh well...onward!

Howdy everyone.

I have a few minutes to drop a few pics.
19 days above ground for my pipsqueak....

She gets her week #1 veg feeding tomorrow.

I'll be in the kitchen today. I have to get some of my T-day cooking done ahead. Cashew brittle and a cake.
Tomorrow is pie day.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend.

Well pippers looks as if she is enjoying her life and possibly not in any big hurry to rush through it.:green_heart:

I’m heading into the kitchen shortly. I started my prep yesterday and I enjoy the work for this upcoming feast. Enjoy:love:

Greetings all! I thought I'd drop some pics of my DV on day 21.

SaugaView®:

It seems to droop for a day when I water it and then perk up by the next morning. And since it's asking for fluids almost every day I figure I'll transplant it into a 1 gallon tomorrow morning. Last watering was 2.5g/gallon equivalent and I may bump that again when I water it in because it will be older by the time the roots find most of those nutrients.

Quotes:
Plants are Looking Good , The start of grow seems a toss up a lot of times to me .. I think up can will do her some good , that will help with that stretch there .
Thanks sb! I feel like clones are much easier to figure out at this stage. :) And I'm sure I'll bury it deeper on transplant, but the pot isn't that much deeper than the cup, so I couldn't sink it much further than the cotyledons and still have fresh ProMix beneath it.

Looks terrific if not tall yet. But not tall is helpful in your grow spaces anyway!

Sounds like sweets are on the menu at your house for sure! Happy pie day. :)

Nice to hear it's not all drudgery...enjoy!

Really amazing how they grow under the sun! :Rasta:

They love it!
Your DV is looking good Shed! I bet she’ll love being transplanted into a bigger pot.
Let's hope so BigD, because today was upcan day (22 days above ground)!

I'll leave it in the bright shade for a few days to settle in before it goes back to full sun, and I fed it approximately 3.75g/gallon eq. We'll see!

Highya ITS,

Nice roots on your young lady. I love how you do that. I was thinking about adding some microbes to your DV to help her get adjusted a little quicker. Either way, she'll be a stunner!! Happy Smokin'

Thanks Bode! Other than mycorrhizae I never add anything to my ProMix because I don't know what's designed for peat. I've got a bag of Earth Alive Soil Activator* but it only talks about soil there. I don't know if the 5.5 pH of peat (or anything else different about peat from soil) nullifies the whole microbe thing.

*Bacillus subtilis
2.48 x 108 cfu/g
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens
5.00 x 106 cfu/g
Pseudomonas monteilii
1.00 x 106 cfu/g

Dang.
Your girlie sure is on the move.
Mine looks like she's barely doing anything.
Day #22/23???

Time to get her into a tent of her own. I'll do it right after Thanksgiving. I still have to clean the tent before that happens.

Its a bit cool in the veg area. Since my plants sit on the floor I've been looking at some heat mats with controllers.
Hopefully I can grab one soon.

I'm going back into the kitchen. I still have so much to do. I really need to try to pace myself today and take lots of medication breaks.

:rollit:

Hope your day goes smoothly.

I used the Earth Alive with my Girl Scout Cookies in ProMix and it was fine as far as I could tell.

Yours has been doing what mine is starting to do now: settling into its new home. There is always a slowdown after transplant for me, and since we started growing in different ways, yours made the first move.

Might want to consider standing those on end and circling the pot. Heating the bottom isn't heating it all in large pots. A piece of styrofoam on the floor will be good insulation.

:goodluck: I hope you make it through the day unscathed!

Thanks HG! I can't see where it would hurt, but I have no idea if it would actually help.
Glad to see someone growing this! Hope my grow goes as well as yours have so far. Good luck, both of you!
Thanks Melville!

Morning Variners,

It's Thursday here in the southern hemisphere which means I can get my TG wishes to you bright and early. I marvel at this holiday you have every year, that has as one of its ideals the uniting of your fellow citizens. We often despair when these things don't work out in practice but at least there is a day that forces us to re-evaluate our lives and the meaningfulness of contributions to nation building, and to be thankful for democratic freedoms etc. I don't know the full history of TG but I honor the ideal. I feel sentimental today because many of us in the not so free world hold your country's freedoms in high esteem. Have a wonderful and special turkey day, no matter how you choose to spend it. Happy Thanksgiving.:circle-of-love:
Both Dougies are looking super healthy and beaut! :green_heart:
