Looks like I've got a load of foxtailing going on. Seems to be all over so not sure if it's stress or genetic. Read that it can be more common in purple strains. May back the lights off a little anyway.

Yeah I got these ones on eBay. Made for creating doors in plastic sheeting for building work etc. Can get them from hydro stores online but they cost a bit more. Hopefully I'll get time to fit it later. That's neat!
I didn't know they had stick-on zippers- pretty damn handy!
Loving it!
Yeah will be good to find out. With the GG being photo it should give me time to tweak things and get dialled in if it is environmental. That's the hope anyway. The soil is a bit old now, maybe that's had an effect?Hmm.. so strange what's going on with your Reds!
Now that you'll be running different genetics in the GG, we'll know if it's environmental or not.
To do a slurry test, you take soil from about halfway down (I go down the outside of the pot so as not to tear up old roots) and add an equivalent amount of distilled water as grams of soil (10 grams of soil, add 10ml water). If that doesn't make a slurry, use 20ml (or enough to make a stirrable slurry).
Stir it up, wait 15 minutes, stir again. Do that for at least an hour, longer is better, and then put your calibrated pH stick in the water. That's the pH of your medium.
I'll try this at the weekend. Only thing is I have ph drops so not sure how that will work. May have some ph strips left somewhere that I could dip in. Likely worth jumping on the Zon and seeing if I can get a tester delivered by the end of the week. Thanks for the info bud. Nice one @InTheShed for providing that little tutorial. If it's old, I wonder if you could possibly be experiencing some drift in the mix pH?
You could try a slurry test --
Yeah I found a guide that had a lot of good info on testing soil that said DI water was okay. I'd post a link here but I'm never quite sure what we can or can't share from outside sourcesI think deionised water is all good
If you also had a PPM meter you could test it. But I wouldn't bother
