Vetsmoke's Mars Hydro Hempy Happening - Powered By The FC3000

No need for the labels here Vet. I can easily identify each one. :laughtwo:
That's just for those that aren't as observant.
Nice everyone has stabled out and is growing strong.... Even the "skinny weird one":goodjob:
Thanks bud. Getting into their stride now. Had my fingers crossed she'd come around. Given a little time they usually do don't they.

Great looking bunch, Vet!
I need labels, thank you for that... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Day 14. They're a tad warm, like the rest of us. Coping well though. The Skunk (front centre) has roots spilling out the hole in the cup now. Best prep those buckets tomorrow night.

Had a manic week and only getting around to transplanting the girls later tonight. I feel they're a few days overdue but it can't be helped. I think if they were autos it may have caused an issue but as they're photos they can take a little knock and add a few days to veg no problem. They look nice and healthy but I think the growth has slowed because they need that legroom to explode. Should have a nice update with pretty pictures for you all later. Cheers.

Day 18 and they've been transplanted into the 2.5 litre buckets. Watered in with Shogun katana roots, silicon and hydro grow A&B for week 1 veg. The FC3000 is set at 25%.

The Med weirdo has this funky snake tongue leaf. Pretty cool.

Nice clean upcans and it doesn't look like it'll take long for the roots to hit the res, so that light is going to be on the move very soon!
Fingers crossed. Expecting them to take a couple of days to settle and then start taking off. Thinking I'll top them all and aim for 4 decent spears on each.

Each plant grows at the same rate. :thumb:

Hello Hempy bruver!

Somehow missed the tag but I'll jump in now - just right in time as they seem to be moving into full veg.

Is your final hempy bucket size 2.5L btw? Solo cups seem to be perlite (+verm?) only. And hows the final bucket "rez"?
I believe with full perlite reservoir you'd get loads more ’feeder’ roots and prob phatter fruits. And with hydroton you would get bigger cords and damn thick stems.

I'm having mine in small 5L buckets, the first layer is ~1L filled with Hydroton just to get it on 2" runoff hole level. I made the reservoir by measuring a bit over 1L capacity first, which came out very close to ~2" from the bottom. Filled it with hydroton and re-tested how much liquid the res holds. So final reservoir capacity was close to 0.8L.
That made watering and managing the res whole lot easier - but I believe you've done alot more hempies than me, so don't get it like I'd be trying to teach you :laughtwo:

And now speaking from my own experience that hand watering small hempies for example during the transistion stages when they drink most, could be a real pain in the arse. But small buckets do also have their advantages!

This will be interesting to follow :)
Have a great day Vet!

Hi bud! Yes the 2.5 litre buckets are the final ones. Starter cups and buckets are pure perlite. The only hempies I've done before were the two autos on my last journal. They were in 2L buckets and I liked the size and yield I got from those. Thought keeping these a similar size would be manageable for this tent. I just drilled the holes at 1.5" from the bottom. Looked about right to me. Used approx 4 litres to fill the 5 reservoirs last night so that'll be approx 0.8L each too. I anticipate having to water daily in flower. Which isn't so bad with perlite as you don't have to water slowly like in soil. Well I didn't last time anyway. Just poured it in quick

24 hours in their new home. Looking a little annoyed about the move. The Pungent Skunk back right is having a strop. Sure they'll perk up in a couple of days. Humidity is really low in the tent right now. Only 21% so I've chucked a damp towel in to help out. Never had humidity that low before.

Hi Vet, sure they'll perk up once they get feet fitted into larger shoes :D
I was hoping to see what kind of root ball was developed in solo cups. As the final container height isn't much and fine perlite wicks up amazing amounts, I guess if the rootball gets anywhere close to the res you'll get crazy feeder roots and prob not much cord roots at all. :thumb:

Good luck

Yeah I was in a bit of a rush so didn't grab any pics unfortunately. Not sure if you saw this post in my last journal looking at the roots of the hempy autos after harvest.

Oh ye I saw them. They didn't even look too bound. You'll be mastering the ~2L root space!

Heh I also have one auto in 2L coco hempy. Well, she got little stretchy, about 53" tall.
2L root space in Hempy IHMO can't be compared to normal pot with 2L root space. :cheesygrinsmiley:
