Vetsmoke's Mars Hydro Hempy Happening - Powered By The FC3000

Good stuff as ever Vet

Interesting to see how you are dealing with 40°C temps - it's a proper tussle I'm struggling with too at the moment

Plants looking fab mate, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks mate. Just been to check in and it's 32C in there right now. Not as concerning. Hopefully next week we won't have to worry about it.

Your going to have some spears in there.
Talking of spears. Here they are yet again. Lol. Tallest one is on the Pungent Skunk at 26". So they haven't stretched a huge amount but I'd say a good size for the 2.5L buckets.

Mixed up the first flower feed today. Only the Pungent Skunk needed a top up tonight though. She's a thirsty one. Followed by the Skunk and Med. The Godfather OG and Platinum Cookies in the back are smaller and drinking less so far.

Nice - they are gonna be fat sharks
I'm not very good at sleeping, so I've been window/fan venting and kept it down to about 28/day - 22/night
Plants are doin ok

Quick question for anyone with any knowledge on pollinating. My plan is to remove each plant from the tent one at a time and carefully use a paintbrush to pollinate some lower bud sites. Afterwards should I leave the air circulation fans OFF for the night? Hoping I don't accidentally pollinate the lot by brushing it on precisely.

The deed is done. No pics because, well, they'd be the same as the last 2 days. I've pollinated a couple of buds on the Skunk & Pungent Skunk so far. I want to do a couple on the Med too but she isn't as developed yet. Maybe give her another week and then do it.

Sorry to get here late! Fans definitely off and mist the plants with water before you turn them back on. Ideally you would cover the branch you want to pollinate, mist the rest of the plant, uncover the branch, pollinate it, wait 6 hours, mist the whole tent.
The day you want to pollinate a branch or two put the long tube shaped plastic bread bag over the branch or two you want to pollinate. Mist all the uncovered buds till wet not saturated. While still moist but not dripping remove the plastic bags, pollinate the buds on that one or two branches, put the bags back on, spray all the uncovered buds lightly again. Leave the bag/s on for a 6 hours, take the bags off and mist the branch or two you pollinated. Wait a couple minutes and turn the fan back on.

Thanks bud. Lights have just gone off so I might pop in and do a quick mist and turn the fans back on. It's scorchio again today.

Gave them a good mist and turned the fans back on. I guess we'll see what happens. Worst case scenario we get a ton of seeds. Seeded bud is still smokeable right? Just a pain. Fairly sure I read it doesn't effect the potency of the buds. I could be rembering that wrong though. I do that.

I'd imagine you'd be fine, the misting should help to neutralise any stray pollen.

I don't think you'd find any potency loss that would be noticeable. On last grow, I selectively pollinated some stems of each plant, my favourite a Malawi cross. I did as Shed suggested earlier, and carried out a very tight selective pollination only to later have doubts whether it worked, after a couple of weeks went by and I gave a bit of a 'less tight' re-pollination of the same stems. I did get some extra seeds elsewhere but not a lot where I hadn't intended, but I got several hundred seeds off the stems that I deliberately pollinated, and I have to say the bud is powerful, really nice. I am going try growing out some of those resulting seeds shortly for my next grow so this time it should be 100% sinsemilla, as any males I'll chop.

Hope you get a bit of heat relief soon, the plants are looking great.

Thanks bud. Should be fine hey. You got a lifetime supply of seeds in the end didn't you?🤣 Hopefully I get at least a few to play around with. Are there signs it's worked? Do the pistils turn sooner or something?

Yeah a lifetime supply there, altho it'd be nice to outlive them! The few times I have done it the pistils generally start to look 'done', but with that Malawi cross I just couldn't be sure, so not wanting to screw up by being too confident I re-dusted her to make sure, but in hindsight I needn't have.
I think if the pollen is viable and you've dusted fresh pistils then you should have no problem.

Thanks mate. Fingers crossed. The Critical Mass was a good producer and nice high so if successful it will be fun to see what the crosses are like. It had a really interesting terp profile too. It was like having a glass of good Port with a cheese board. Lol.

Forgot I took a quick snap earlier. I noticed last night, and it's quite evident in this pic, that the Pungent Skunk is growing like the leaning tower of weed. Lol. No idea why it's done that. Thinking it might want to fall over all the time when it gets some weight on it so I best try and straighten her up soon.

Day 18 of 12/12. I did intend on flushing them before starting flower nutrients but I haven't got around to it yet. Will make sure I do it soon though.

They seem to have really slowed/stopped with stretching now. Could've been a bit taller but I'm happy with them. Should be able to drop the light a little closer when it cools a bit.
