Vetsmoke's Mars Hydro Hempy Happening - Powered By The FC3000

1 week into 12/12. The Skunks appear to be doing the growing for all of them.

Yeah those skunks aren't hanging around. Surprised me how quick they've kicked into pumping pistils out. They're going to be fun to watch. The light is great. Still sat on 75% power so I'll probably slowly bump that up as they get into full flower.

Don't be shy crank her up.
Take care.

While I think of it. What's people's thoughts on tent designs in regard to ventilation ports at the bottom of the tent? With @Mars Hydro and most other popular brands they tend to just have the mesh windows in the bottom, which in my opinion aren't great if you're growing photoperiods. Lost space in the tent running ducting from the upper ports down into the tent. If there were ports at the bottom then that space wouldn't be lost and light proof air intakes would be easy to put in. I don't see the benefit of the mesh windows with the flaps on. They let light in. Fine if you're growing autos. Would be cool if they made some sort of light proof intake that you could attach to the velcro on the outside of the window. Then it would make sense to have the mesh windows. Just my thoughts on it. Maybe I'm missing something but as it stands I'd rather have a couple of 4" ports in the bottom.

Got a bamboo plant in the garden so I'll pull a few sticks out for supports if needed. Not sure they'll quite reach the size of your beast but we'll see.
Being they're photos, I would have to imagine they might surprise you. I've got 5 foot ones in mine, did the trick. Do you have the good bamboo or the yucky bamboo outside?

Something like this light baffle but rectangular and lightweight that could just attach to the velcro on the outside of the windows. Let me know if they already exist. If not, @Mars Hydro I'm sure designing and manufacturing something wouldn't be too difficult and would be a handy thing for us to have available.

I didn't know there was good and yucky bamboo. What's the difference? I hate it because the dog is always getting in it. Lol.

Oh yea there's a super invasive species. The one I keep in the house and propagate is the good kind, the brighter green and thicker shoot kind. The others just spread like Medusas hair all over the place and are ugly...

Think ours is probably the yucky one then. At least it's in a bed so can't spread too far but I'm sure the roots will be under the patio and the garage. I know it's a nightmare to get rid of so I'd never plant it outside in my own garden. I assume the owner put it in years ago.

This is the kind of thing I'm talking about regarding the intakes. Surprised nobody has manufactured something like this yet.

I've never had a tent that didn't have lower and upper duct socks, even the smaller 2'×2'. I asumed all tents had them.so I thought yours was a bit of a weird design tbh.
I was gonna ask why you had 2 ducts coming in and dropping to the floor.
would it save space with only one dropping to the floor bringing fresh air?..then the fan and filter up top extracting like normal.
Or do both ducts bring in fresh air?

Ours has a lower intake. You have a great idea though, and I agree those lower flaps are garbage.

I just wish they would make it obvious in the photos/sales materials where the intake holes are and how many. It never seems to be listed and most sites will have conflicting photos on the product page.

Airflow is one of the most important aspects of tent design and it's being overlooked.

I've got a couple of tents with them and a few without. Both are bringing in fresh air. Could try with one and keep an eye on humidity etc. But I know when these are late in flower I'll need all the fresh air I can get.

Yeah some do and some don't. Seems to depend on brand and size of tent. Should have at least one 4-8" port (dependent on tent size) at the bottom of every tent I'd say.

Looking great Vet - that reminds me, I really must get my intake sorted...
Agree those bottom vents are close to useless - I chose mine specifically cos it has 3 bottom + 2 top @6"
Suppose you could get a bit of 4mm ply and cut a 4" hole, attach a standard spigot and then staple it on from the inside of the tent - that's the sort of crap I'd do, at a push

The Skunks have hit 23" now. I've raised the others up to level the canopy a little. Just the Med in the back left corner needs something a bit taller. I'll stick her on an upside down plastic pot tomorrow.

Stuff keeps getting in the way of me doing the final test and installing the dripper system. Will be in before the end of the weekend.
