Vetsmoke85 First Grow Stealth Cabinet

My wife asks me why I check on my plants at various times during
the day-what happened to you is exactly why I do it-( she thinks i'm OCD or something)
Growing in a small space,a small electrical failure can screw the whole thing up pretty fast.
Good job on catching it before it did damage to your ladies!:goodjob:

This is exactly why I went the extra mile and installed a safety mechanism consisting of a thermal switch, a relay and a button. If my fan dies and temps get to 100F, thermal switch will shut the power off and relay will not let turn the power back on when the switch cools down. It can only be turned back on by pressing the button.
Never happned for real, just in testing conditions. But helps me sleep better :)

Yesterday really was a disaster. In my haste to get the old fan back in it turns out I didn't secure it well enough in place and it fell out and landed on the little plant. Miraculously though she doesn't seem to be damaged. Just bent over slightly. Bit of early LST. Ha ha. Could smell the plants inside the cabinet already. Both plants still looking good somehow. Today is a new day.

Heyy vet! This thread really took off huh :p. Good job so far mate ya being well looked after aswell it seems.
@carcass got ya covered on LST bro. I dont really LST i beat the shit out of my girls to keep em in line lol. Dont really mess with autos that much. Maybe one crop a year ill do autos from now on.... although i think i will drop some outdoor autos :p

Ha ha. Thanks. Everyone has helped me so much. Incredibly grateful. After yesterday's mishaps I've a little work to do but the girls have gotten bigger again over night despite it all. Will put some pics up soon.

They seem to have got through all that unscathed. The cannabis gods must be in my favour. Ha ha

Cannabis is very resilient my friend. That extra warmth could have even attributed to the rapid growth you mentioned. Prepare for the veg boom my friend :p

Not sure if anyone will know but I was thinking of putting 2 of the USB fans I have together in a chain but separated by a filter layer of carbon granules in mesh. Would having 2 fans together like this work? Then I'll put a filter on the front of that assembly made of a couple of layers of carbon foam with more granules inbetween.

They are amazing. Ha ha yeah I'm now thinking I'm going to have to be quite aggressive with the LST to keep some sort of control in there.

Wow, very healthy looking plants!
The older one is 10 days old, if I'm not mistaken? Mine looked nothing like that after 10 days.

When do you plan to start LST?
Yeah 10 days now. Maybe 11 today. I was thinking sometime around the 14-21 day mark. As soon as she's big enough to work with I guess. Been like an episode of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em the last 24 hours. Ha ha

Hi All,
Thanks for joining. As I'm a veteran I'll invite you to pull up a sandbag. Appreciate all the comments and recommendations. Feeling a little under pressure to pull this off now but I do love a challenge and I get the distinct impression you all want me to succeed too which is nice. I've chosen an auto strain that doesn't grow tall and will do the same with future grows. I've looked at some of @Katins threads which are great. I don't plan on topping her as from what I've read it can work with autos but can also be a disaster. I will start LST as soon as possible. Still waiting for the seed to sprout. Lol. Had a couple more bits of kit arrive today. A fan which I'll put in to keep air moving nicely around the cabinet. Also a lower profile LED panel and a couple of heatsink fans as I read these panels can get quite warm. Will keep my current light setup for now and switch this one in if absolutely needed or on the next grow. @Bilbobudkin420 when would you recommend starting the LST? I'm not expecting a huge yield but it would be great to get as much quality bud as I can with the setup I have right now. In the not too distant future I'll likely build a taller cabinet. Being an engineer that's the fun part and I can take more time on the next one. Get it spot on.

Howdy mr.Smoke the light in this pic is it a 100w led...
