Practically identical pheno's is going to be helpful bud you got lucky there! Definitely some chunky veg hopefully the flower follows suit 🤞🏽 and the WWxNL is doing well 👌🏼 any chance of more detail on your Res? Like capacity, how often your checking it or topping it off and does the shogun nutes swing much sitting in there or some early feedback? Set ups looking very promising for a lazy grower 😁
Yeah the Blue Cheese is a little chunkier than the Mac N Cheese but they are very similar at the moment.

The res is the 47L header tank that came with the Autopot kit. I've sat it on a little folding step a plumber left at my house years ago. Lol. Had to seal the grommet in as it wasn't exactly an interference fit and would've leaked water everywhere.

I started it off with just 10L as they aren't drinking a load yet. Overnight the pH went up 0.4 so I adjusted it back to 5.8 and after a couple of days it seems steady. I haven't got a pump agitating the res, I'm just mixing it by hand when in the vicinity.

For some added info the whole setup is currently drawing 117W. Less than the boys gaming PC. Not too bad.

My bad strains not pheno's lol. Gravity fed is definitely less effort, system looks so simple & is working well! I have to use a pump in mine as it helps keep the fert temps up aswell as agitate but mine sits on concrete floor.

Yeah I thought about putting the pump I've got into the res to stir it up every hour or so but will be a pain getting power to it and wanted to see if I can get by without it. See if I can keep it as energy efficient and simple as possible.

Looking good Vet, sorry missed some notifications. Darn big solar panels indeed on that girl, lapping up the light!
Thanks mate. No worries. I'm overdue checking in your balcony jungle. 🤣 Really does make me smile every time I see it. I foresee humidity being an issue in flower but will find a way to deal with it as usual.

Day 28. Starting to shape up a little now. Not much to report really. Will add 5 litres of feed to the reservoir in the morning. Seeing a little tip burn around and a bit of clawing on the Mac N Cheese.

I wasn't overly happy with how the WWxNL was looking tonight so I gave it a bit of a flush with a lighter feed. Could be too much light for her. Might have to dim it a bit or switch her to a side.

The Blue Cheese gives me the impression she's getting into the groove now.

Mac N Cheese isn't far behind. Some of her leaves are a little puffy but I think she'll grow out of that soon.

I noticed this on the surface of the Blue Cheese a little while ago. I know salt build up in Autopots is supposed to happen at the surface layer but I didn't expect it to come on that soon. On closer inspection it looks like the Orca I've been adding has been working. All that fuzzy fungi. Think it is some salts too. Got the same in the Mac N Cheese pot but not as much.

Spray the surface with 1% H2O2 solution

I have noticed that the majority of newer strains seem to show K deficiency at some point which looks like that slight browning on the lower leaves
Not sure if that is because we always add CaMg and that binds some of the K, or modern strains need more juice, esp in coco where the roots run free?

Which one?

Cheers. Yeah I didn't like that or the slight cupping on the upper leaf at the back. Guess I'll just monitor it closely for the next few days and make one adjustment at a time.

The white gunk on the surface is a fungus gnat factory, H2O2 will fizz it off and kill any eggs
Really? Always saw it as a good thing in soil. Means there's a healthy population of microbes etc. Never caused a gnat problem on me.

Yes, coco is hydro by another name, not soil; you don't want microbes of any kind

you don't want microbes of any kind
This bit I mean. I know coco should be treated like hydro. Orca says it can be used in any type of media. Also the coco I got comes premixed with charge (insect frass), so I'm microbe party town.

Yeah, tried frass in coco - sod that in an indoor grow
I don't mix poo into coco unless I want to grow mushrooms

I'm not sure this matters as most people starting with coco seem to do a 50/50 grow. They start with almost organic style as some Coco mixes have worm cast or compost of some sort and which will feed the plants then they unknowingly take all the work off the microbes by feeding hydro style. But either way it doesn't affect the plants negatively does it?

I been looking at growing styles with Coco as you have Coco hydro, Coco organic then I'm calling it Coco hybrid where people seem to be using a mixture of the two.

I accidentally stumbled upon it being a new guy to growing and I basically grew in compost coir which I was feeding organic but with a hydro watering schedule.
