Van Stank's Nukehead Sponsored Grow

Will be typing it up today and posting it here. We had a few things to do yesterday including digging out from some snow.
Good plan is to blog it Van

Wish I had...lol

Veg Day 5 Update

Things are on auto-pilot still. Not doing a lot except leaf spreading on Nukehead #2. I watered again last night with my ACT (aerated compost tea) that consists of 1 cup of Earth Work Castings and a teaspoon of ground kelp in 2 gallons of water. I only used a quarter cup of the ACT to water these two. The rest went into my lemon tree, mango tree and palm tree.

I will post pictures of the roots developing on Nukehead #2 later today. The plant look really healthy at this point! Not sure what's going on with Nukehead #1. It looks like its starting to push through whatever was holding it back.

Great photos. My old eyes love good pictures.

Thanks Gramps.......playing around with the Macro lens that Ms Stank got me. Glad you like them. Wish I would have had the lens for the flowering on the last grow.

It’s definitely nice. You’ll get lots of use out of it shortly. I like when I see the little hairs on babies.

Root Update

So I wanted to take this chance to share the some information on my grow style. As you all saw (that read this from the beginning) that I grow in clear solo cups placed inside of red solo cups. You also saw that I only put an inch or inch and a half of Stank Soil in the bottom of the cup and fill the rest with Coco-Loco. I explained that Coco-loco has very mild nutrients in it for the seedlings to use and the Stank Soil is loaded with good stuff. Here is an example of what is going on below the soil line that most people never get to see.

So you can see lots of roots in the upper part of the cup. Thats the Coco Loco. It provides them with water and stuff to get them through the first week or so of life. But if you look closely, you can see that the roots stop as soon as they hit the Stank Soil. Thats because the plant only takes what its able to use in its current environment (think lights, temps, humidity). As it progresses and grows bigger, those roots will slowly use only the good stuff they need. This prevents the seedling from getting burnt by hot soil.

This also lets me easily see when its time to 'up-pot'. As you can see from these pics, I am good for a few days up to another week, the roots and plant will tell me when its time.

I heard there were some other branches ganging up on my Marine brother....IGY6 Brother!

LOL, nah, they know better! Gramps is an army doggie but we won't hold that against him. Flytier is a Canadian fly boy so he has the golf course covered. I am sure there is a sailor around here somewhere......perhaps over at the jukebox playing some Village People's "YMCA".

As a former Army Aviator we hunted for liquor and women, not LGBTQ bars. I did get punched in the nose at the officers club on Pensacola NAS in the early 80s, for telling this joke though:

Q: Do you know why the Navy got the Marines and the Army got the Mule?

A: Because the Army had first-choice.

:tokin:

It was a one-punch fight. The drunk Marine Aviator–who I just so happened to be drinking with–punched me in the nose, and I fell off the bar stool...fight over. I got helped off the floor and I bought her a drink...

Edit: That's a phucking true story! About the drunk Marine Avitor, not the Mule...:slide:

Good story Gramps. What kinda equipment were you hovering

In those days it was the AH-1 Cobra, but I was qualified in the UH-1 Iroquois “Huey”, OH-58 Kiowa, AH-1 Cobra, and the bad ass of all, the AH-64 Apache. It was truly another life that I enjoyed the hell out of. Technically, I’m also qualified in the BO-105 which is a German helicopter. I absolutely loved strapping that Apache on though...I swear to God it made my nuts hard! :tokin:

Sorry if I offended anyone. There are Marines here after all...

Seriously though, I’d feel real comfortable with a Marine watching my six. I have mad respect for Devil Dogs.
