Using Miracle Grow Seed Starting Potting Mix For Autoflower - Need Advice

Good morning everyone, my plants have been on a 24-0 light schedule since day 3. Last night was the first night under new LED. I'm happy with the light. I have another one coming in and I may end up trying the mars 300 out. Any way enjoy the pics.

Day 10

Below is the one I transplanted on day 9. It's getting stronger.

Have a good one y'all!

Your little babies are looking good just be careful feeding them nutes this early most people wait until after 2 or 3 weeks before they start feeding them nutes as to not damage them or over do it... also when using Miracle Grow it's easy to give the plants nute burn because it has nutrients already in the dirt... but it looks like your on the right track... good luck & happy growing

The seeding starter soil barely has if any MG nutes. I think they took the Fox farm nutes quite well. I'm going to water them today or tomorrow then feed Tuesday I haven't watered since I fed them . I'm going to shock the root system with water before I feed again. My ph meter comes in today too!! Yayy!!

Why on earth would you want to "shock the root system"?

Your plant will be much happier with the correct and consistent pH and osmotic pressure (nutrient concentration).

I didn't mean shock I should have chosen my words more carefully. The FF feed sched is x 2 per week. I have only fed them once this week so later today I will give them a little water, and feed them FF nutes on Tuesday

In case I haven't already run this one into the ground, I really like fertilizing at every watering with dilute nutes. It just makes sense to me to give the plant a nice, consistent nutrient supply.

Haha yea man your input is greatly appreciated. I will follow your instructions on the feeding. You have given me great advise thus far. My PH meter finally came in

Throw away the powdered calibration solution mix that comes with the meter. Unless you have lab quality water measuring equipment, you'll mix up a cal solution that can't be trusted.

Immerse the tip of the meter in General Hydroponics pH 7.0 calibration solution, then rotate the calibration screw back and forth until it reads 7.0.

You'll quickly learn how often you need to check the calibration. About once a week should do it.

Rinse the tip after every use. The glass bulb in the tip is extremely thin (so it can sense the electric charge gradient), so be gentle with it.

Keep the tip wet, always, to prolong its life. Ideally you store the tip in potassium chloride storage solution or just do what they do in most labs and leave it immersed in pH 7.0 cal solution.

There are good videos and other info about pH and pH measurement. I recommend learning all you can about pH. It's not terribly complex, but there are subtleties (like the scale is logarithmic, so ph 4 is 100 times more acidic than pH 6, for example).

pH meters are pretty simple electronically, but they have a hard job to do. If you don't use them carefully and keep them calibrated, you're better off using pH color drops from the pet store. Too many cannabis growers are getting junk data from their meters because they don't know what they're doing and don't take care of their equipment.

I think my harangue about feeding diluted nutes at every watering is less important than, say, calibrating your pH meter. It's more like a personal preference that is probably bordering on perfectionism, but every little bit helps...

Hey I'll take whatever advice I can get. I won't get my feelings hurt!

Good evening everyone I hope y'all are all ready for a great weekend!! My girls got 12 hours in the sun everyday this week!! Woohoo

Lahey looks yellow because of the reflection from my screen from the led light! They are all very green!!

Ending day 10 off great! I fed them FF nutes earlier ended up getting a 7.0 ph( I'm happy with it)
Anyways y'all have a good one.

Looking good! A couple look like they're gonna outgrow their pots soon (tap root can be 3x longer than the plant, so a tiny plant can have its tap root circling the bottom of the pot...)

Or have I said that enough times now? ;)

I loved my air pot cuz the roots just stopped when they got to the edge! :thumb:

Take care of that pH pen. I had the same one and didn't take care of it. I was mixing nutes that were way off on pH.
Get a mason jar and keep it wet!!!
And that other pH meter that's for soil, there is a switch for pH. I have one too and it's always right in. I always keep a backup 3 drop test on hand. pH is SO Important!!!
