Using Miracle Grow Seed Starting Potting Mix For Autoflower - Need Advice

This is a little late but im also using miracle grow potting soil from lowes, it was i believe 15 bucks for a nice big bag and was blue with a big yellow flower (and fewother veggies or flowers on it) and said feeds up to 6 months. I didnt mix anything with it and started my seeds in party cups. Everything is going great here on day 40 except that i've now ruled the dmg to leaf's as nute burn. The ppm for 2 of my plants was 3530 and 2706, much too high. If you're using the same soil, keep an eye on your ppm and if it gets over i'd say 2000, flush half a gallon of water through the plant in question and that should bring it down to a safer 1200-1500.

In your case, it may be a bit different for autoflower, im assuming autoflower's eat up nutes much faster since they grow faster and flower faster. Other than that, looks good!

I didnt have to feed nutes since every time i transferred the plants from party cups to 1 gal to 3 gal, it always got alot of new rich soil. Now that i know to keep the ppm down in the future, im shooting for running out of nutrients in soil by flowering start and then i can use the nutes i have. I may even just flush them out to 500'ish ppm and then start feeding nutes for the remainder of 2 months.

Also, i used RO water (1 gallon jugs from food 4 less) for the first 30 days and then i switched to tap water that sits out with cap off for 24 hours. My tap water is in range of 150ppm which im ok with. I just minus that number from ppm readoff.

Here's a pic of my plants on day 39 (not autoflower) (plant in middle is in different soil)

And here is that nute burn dmg i finally figured out after ruling out multiple things. This miracle grow soil is very rich, if i had kept the ppm down to a safer 1000-1500 i could have avoided the first signs of dmg (white spots here and there followed by white tips, followed by bigger spots and leaf turning crunchy)

Yea I got the seed starting soil. It does not have the MG time released nutes like the one you got! That sucks your PPM is that high! My soil mix was MG seed starter with 30%perlite and a rock bottom from my koi pond at the bottom of the pot. My plants are doing well. It's my first grow so all I have is the data of others to rely on. I hope your plants recover!!

Hah had to bro! 'Twas stoned naming them. Quickly realized they are girls so I was like fuck I named them after all dudes.

I was wondering where those names came from--knew there had to be a story. Never watched TPB too much so clueless as usual...

(And I think you can name your plants after any damn body you want. ;))

Have a great day everyone I'll get some good pics later today

Just bought a 400watt HPS light and ballast from lowes. I will add this to the mix of my 4 x 300 watt LED's!! Also building a bigger grow tint for this configuration. I will build it out of PVC

Do you think the 4 LED and the 400 watt HPS will be good to mix?

People here have passionate opinions about spectra and their effects, but me, I'm a "the more lux the better" guy. I know that lots of people do entire grows under only HPS, or only MH, or only LED grow lights. They all work. And although you may get a plant that's a little bushier under one or a little leggier under another, the most important thing is lots of bright light.

So yeah, I think that mix should be fine. More light = more frost on the buds = more goodness. :)

I do hope you live somewhere where the electric power is cheap. ;)

Lol my bill was 900 last month. Pool, 8k sq foot house. I don't think it will be a problem.
