Back under the light....

Very happy with my lights. $80 on amazon per light. Galaxy Hydro. Although it's my first grow so I don't have much experience. I hope I have some big buds.

Yes it will just pump up the phosphorus and potassium no micro nutes like you get in tigerbloom

But I have to ask: If you're already using the FF nutes in the proportions that they recommend for each time period in your grow, why would you want to add still more P (and lots of it!) and K? Wouldn't I be better off trusting that the plant scientists at Fox Farms had worked long and hard to get the proportions just right for me without adding extra? Fox Farms is a highly respected brand, so it seems like they could be trusted to get it right, don't you think?

So many growers seem to think "more is better" (probably because of all the marketing for expensive magic potions they get hit with), but I know that there are professional agronomists--people with PhDs and laboratories--who work really hard to make their fertilizer the best, so it seems to me that by adding a bunch of random extra stuff, I'm potentially just invalidating their hard work and wasting money.

(I started out phrasing that as a question, but clearly I've got an ax to grind. ;))

True statement

Yes but even from the same perspective all of the plants growth is based on the elements you feed it therefore having more is better to a point, but you can also lock a plant out if feedings aren't done right but that's just my two cents. If you go to fox farms website they recommend Verde which is a high nitrogen mix at 16-0-0 with open sesame and micro along with bloom and grow, so it's really all up to you. I didn't use it my first grow but now my photos and my autos get it and they are all in super soil I just add it to my tea.

You make a good point, for sure. If you go to any of these manufacturer's websites, you see their basic product--NPK+Micros--but then there are also a dozen add-on products ("for the advanced grower"). I would be willing to bet that some of the plant scientists back in the lab are pulling their hair out, but that the business people insist on have a "competitive" product line (with lots of glitz and fancy labels) that generates a lot of extra income. That's business!

<edit>Holy crap, I just crossed the 2000 post point! I really need to get back to work. ;)</edit>

Would it be a good idea to separate my plants to give them more room to grow?

I was thinking having 1 light over each 5 gallon plant and 1 over an 3 gallon and 1 gallon

This is the space I would put the 2 smaller ones

I would of course put Mylar around it for reflection. Should I split them up or keep them under the same light?

Each only have about 150 true watts they claim to be 300 but are true 150. I'm getting another one to finish them up
