Urban Achievers Inner City Seeds of Promise

Yeah that's not a bad idea! The more light the better Really. I think I'll cook some soil come March or so. I like the idea of just watering. Kind of tired of mixing nutes daily

Yeah I had a few months of planning before I could grow due to work. I studied the various methods. I was 99% sure I was going hydro. Either RDWC or the combo drip/dwc. After much more contemplation I ran into Sweet Sue and bobrowns organic soil thread and that was that. In the end I am a lazy man who has better things to do than mix nutrients or piss around with ph and ec and and and.

Maybe in my younger days but I am 40. I would rather smoke a fat joint and read about other people doing it lol. This is why I chose a name with a Big Lebowski reference.

“Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not Mr. Lebowski. You’re Mr. Lebowski. I’m the Dude. So that’s what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.”

I just want to sit back, “do a J”, and drink a white russian while whale music plays in the background. Ok maybe not whales but some Tragically Hip.

As long as it's not the eagles... fucking hate the eagles... where are my CCR tapes?!?!

Fucking a bro... mind if I do a jay?

Ahh yes the lazy mans ambition to do less work. I admire that! I'm gonna move toward Dwc and soil. If I'm gonna mix and test and adjust.... it better be once a week not daily!

lol yeah I just lightly medicated. Twice lol.

Thanks for that man I appreciate the kind words. I made the command decision I am buying a new camera. The one I am using is 5 years old or so. Either a Canon D6 or D80. The real plus is that I invested in quality lenses years ago so I am good there.

Yeah Urb...any hydro or hydro based grow seems like a lot more werk' to me as well...if yer' lazy at 40...just wait till yer 65!......This was my first year with a home built soil and only OMRI certified nutes when needed(mostly fish emulsion and bat guano based) and was pleased with the results(NOTM last month) and although I didn't get too much into fancy teas and such, I plan on stepping up the game plan next season...lots of info to be gleaned from bob and others in that regard...I'll have a few months this winter in warmer climes to do more research and formulate the plan...trouble here is trying to source stuff locally, although it has improved somewhat...anyways...garden looks great!!:thumb::high-five:...cheerz...h00k...:hookah:

lol I will be amazed if I make it that far. I am amazed I made it this far lol.

Yeah I am looking forward to your summer outdoor crop this season. I am going to toss a few out in some logging block or two this summer. Use some of my soil to amend the natural stuff.

I will continue to try and improve upon this whole thing regardless

Doood... bro, that's soo cool... we do a little work with soil grows but it comes in spurts... do a little work... mostly hang back and puff, watch for pests is the only reason I go in the flower room. Takes me 10 minutes and pictures, done!

Today I actually sifted the dredges of last seasons vermicompost bin (was 58F) so we can switch and start using that bin and retire the other bin. We got a 32 gal tote full of primo sifted vermicompost now as a backup. "Wait til Spring".... (Jim Lauderdale reference - he's a bud of ours - country music the right way). That bin is 180gal ... enough for a shit ton of cannabis soil AND our outdoor gardens for mulch/top dress. Worms worms worms... my buddies. They do all the heavy lifting.

I'll let that tote sit outside all winter.. brrrrr the worms will die, the bugs will die... the bacteria will work some miracles, and in the spring when we open up the tote... black gold! Right now its half leaf mold and half worm castings.

I like the sound of that, this summers outdoor grow journals were pretty exciting, and next summers will be even better.

I have had a few puffs around the plants but try to avoid it as smoke and electronics dont get along well. But I like to sit in there and look at the plants, watch for pests, and snap a few as well. Get some Vitamin G lol.

We sold our house and downsized two years ago so I wont be getting any bigger or vermicomposting. Now maybe if we ever move again I would consider dedicating a room to it all. For now its a 3 x 3 tent and my LOS.

Let mix it up. How about a little flashback? No not the LSD kind lol. A little stroll through short term memory lane and see how we got here.

At least with my white widow freebie from Canuk seeds.

Barely survived seedhood. The shell pinched it and the 1 of the cotyledons was caught, essentially acting as its first (and only) LST.

Here she is showing off her gangster ways. Very small. Still shaken from the seed casing incident.

Scooby always was a fan of the hard hitting indicas.

Around this time I was underwatering. So between the seed case and my absentee daddy skills...she got off to a rough start.

75% of that growth happend during flower lol. I did not do this strain justice this time around. It was a side thought. One day I will do this strain the justice it deserves. Still has 3-5 weeks to finish I think.

Im a firm believer that nothing happens on accident. And things don't happen to us but for us. The plant fits perfectly! Meant to be

"Just let sleeping horses die".

Actually its "let sleeping dogs lie". I had to ruin my wifes moment by correcting her on that one.

Came home after work and thought I could smell the faint whiff of cannabis. So its time to keep the carbon filter fan on all the time now. This was my plan all along. I expected it to lower night time temperatures and help with bringing out the natural colors. I gotta admit this was also one of the factors in using LOS.

I was getting worried about their size, or girth as it were, until I realized that the lower leaves arent even fading yet. Their girth phase is not even here yet. Yay. They are looking and smelling dank though. I think that Green Cush #4 is potentially a purple pheno...take a closer look at the buds on it. I figure if they are showing purple now...wait until the final week or two!

These GC are similar just not as many colas. I do hold out hope that the main 4 colas will be fat and sassy.

The Blue Dream is going to have some amazing colour to it. Quite the contrast to the green crack.

Excellent pics Urban. Purple buds will be awesome!

Cheers.

Thank you ditchweed, pretty cool little turn of events, I heard about the purple GC pheno but never considered I would get one. Makes a bit of sense, its showing other good qualities like having a sativa flair to it. Going to be some awesome smoke.

"I gotta job, I explore, I follow every single whiff, and I want my life to smell like this"

Put in a hard days work today. Its been a good year. I have lived the life you read about on fake old wood signs your wives put in the hallway. Work hard play hard. Live laugh love. Be the change you want to see in the world.

At least thats what I am telling myself as I open this bottle of Lagavulin 16yo I have been sitting on for a few years. No particular reason, its in the store, just to have for a day like today.

This is winter, log fires, christmas in a bottle. Smooth. Smokey. Warm. Fireside. A fat fresh joint of Gorilla Glue. I am living greater than the greatest kings of Europe ever could. *my medicated thought- I have a friggin supercomputer in my hand. I am a god to them lol.*

Oh yeah. I changed the light schedule from 12/12 to 11.5/12.5. I will shave off another 30 minutes in a few weeks. We are looking to see if we can increase this resin/trichome production. I am excited to watch these plants dance into the next phase of their growth. Every phase. I love plants.

The lights come on now at 10:30pm local time and turn off at 10. If I am not passed out I will be checking in lol.

Ok I am out. You folks take care of each other.

I've had that Lagavulin 16 with a nice cigar, sitting in a broken in leather chair mid winter next to a fireplace with a view of the river. That's a really happy place to be in. Enjoy Urb, and Merry Christmas.
