Urban Achievers Inner City Seeds of Promise

Hey UA, nice set up brother!! Question for you. Are you by any chance doing much spraying on your plants...foliars, etc? I ask because during my battle with mites, I was doing a lot of spraying and I was seeing some tips looking like yours. All my new growth after I stopped spraying them looks pristine. Was wondering if perhaps some spraying you are doing is cause that. I assume mine was because there might have been little droplets of water on the tips/edges and the light might be getting magnified via the water. Just throwing it out there as a possibility since I was spraying a lot.

Super cool Urb, great work! Love the scrog. Patent pending .
Thanks Sun! Mostly scraps laying around the basement. Should do the trick lol

Love your photo work Urb, and the adjustable scrog... My tent bows in so I'm gonna build a frame around just like that. Great idea! Started my new journal, wanted to throw an invite out as well - Redloh II: Electric Brixaloo
thanks Redloh, trying to at least do something right lol, I will pop by your place shortly.

Nice pics man.. ph maybe getting too low on the lady with the brown spots.
thanks man! alright, I havent been PH'ing my water or teas, I could probably start lol.

Thanks bud, I have been spraying off and on, with plain water and some neem oil recently. I think it probably has done some damage. I am certainly making some errors this first grow but nothing fatal yet lol.

Not sure anyone noticed but I put the white widow back in there. In its 1 gallon pot and seems to be ok after a week in the house window.

just caught up again. seems like a lot has been going on since i last was here. sad to see the WW leave the tent though. I'm a huge fun of small girls with tight node structures(that sounds dirty lol )(especially since you are doing a scrog) they are the best IMO for scrogs but you had to do what you had to do.

I love scrog grows so much , it's like an unhealthy obsession, I may even just scrog half my outdoor grow. I got months to prepare.

anyway, I wish I had more space to work with now but I'll have to wait since I'm gonna set up a greenhouse next year before spring.

also, more time than not, I find a foliar feed unnecessary. teas or just soil nutes is more than enough especially if you added mycorrhizae to your roots during transplant.

everything is looking great and hope to see how things go in the coming weeks !

Thats becoming quite the operation you got there. I've been after Mrs. SaskFarmer to allow me to move the tent downstairs so i can connect the exhaust to the return air plenum.
I see you are setting up for a "scrog" is it going to be an actual scrog ie stuffing it full and allowing only colas to come up or will it be more of a support system?

Hey there TG - don't underestimate the powers of foiler spray...

Here's a plant just going into flower, I did a foiler of mainly Horsetail Fern Tea mixed with RO water ... by the time I went and got my camera, this huge ass fan leaf turned up towards the lamps ... it's about 14" across.

URB! BUDDY you okay? Your presence is missed around these parts. Hope all is well . Have a wonderful weekend!

Hey there everyone! I was just a bit busy with other life stuff. But I have a small update for you.

The plants are growing well and the minor issues havent gotten much worse since the transplant so thats great. I am not going to rush flower so any mistakes I make will just cost me time. The Amnesia OG really didnt like the LST so it will need longer now. I was hoping to flip Nov 1.

I lowered the scrog frame and put on the net. There is enough room there for them to grow and get trained out a bit. This purple light is pretty bright and the plants are digging it. (I am using other lights to take these photos)

Here is the Blue Dream, it was topped 5 days ago.

The White Widow that wont die. It started looking better so its back in the tent...just in the small geopot for now.

Here is the lanky Green Cush who IS a fan of lst. She is got some nice side branching going on and will help fill the net.

The blue dream is the only one close to the net. She is the reason I put the net on so early. I am using cheap material for the string and I am questioning that decision. I wonder if the hairs will end up in the final product.

lol thanks, its working out well so far, we will see when flower starts. As for the true scrog, I will try and fill as much as I can, but there will be large holes from the nature of my training experimentation.

Ahhh thanks dude, perfectly fine thanks, I was out of town for a few days and had some other stuff to do when I got home so my journal suffered. I have almost 50 journals to catch up on now too.

Glad to hear your back brother. Missed ya over in my world lately!

Yeah I am in a bit of a transition from the summer life to the winter life and havent had as much time to spend browsing journals. I figure another week of this and I can settle in to a routine. I have been keeping tabs on most folks just not contributing to the conversation lol.

I know that feeling. Busy fall means my journal and my own following has suffered. But everyone here understands. It's just worrying when someone here disappears without explanation. We've lost a ton of great people from here over the years, and even in the months since I've been active. So when the conversation goes quiet people worry!

Hope all is well with your girls.

Hey there UA... on the rope.. it's pretty strong, I'm using that same stuff on some HUGE plants. The one I harvested the rope hairs are not there so you should be fine. There's some better hemp rope that doesn't get hairy and I think a little stronger too. But this rope is pretty tough too.

I was noticing some hairs on the leaves so I made a command decision and replaced the rope with cotton butchers twine. Much cleaner and should be plenty strong for these plants.

The Blue Dream is pretty much at the net now, with the Green Cush pair not far behind, however the Amnesia is going to be a while. I doubt the white widow will even reach the net by the end of flower lol.

Looking good urb! Where did you find this string your using? This butcher's twine? Or did you snag it from work? I'm not digging the hemp string fibers flying everywhere already :(

I went to Lowes, you can find it anywhere, its just cotton twine/rope. Fairly cheap for a huge roll. I didnt like the fibers flying around either.

Thanks for the tip on the twine UrbanAchiever, your plants look sweet :) can't wait to see once they start pushing the net

Just a quick thought brother, have you considered using some heavier duty fishing line? Seems like mono fishing line of say 50 lb test would do great as well. I am not sure how it will handle the light thought. I would think it would last longer than cotton but I could be wrong.

I once hooked what I suspect was a steelhead, on a brand new rod and reel with 20lb test, and proceeded to watch that mofo run my line out. Jumping out of the water as he/she went down the river. Tried stopping it on the line/reel and cut my hand pretty good.

I briefly considered using fishing line but didnt want to cut the plants. Lighter pound test would be reasonably cheap but much more likely to cut the plants, and the heavier stuff while less likely to cut the plants would be much more expensive.

In the end I would use anything that would work. Just happened to be the butchers twine.

Still having trouble finding time lately to take decent photos or catch up to journals. New job training and home to-do lists have kept me occupied. The good news is that it means I am not fiddling with the plants lol.
