Unknown Strain From Seed - First Time Grow

My grassy smell went away after about a week or two of curing. Mines about 4 weeks cured now and it's very nice! I love taking a big whiff when I open the jar mmmm smells so good lol. I suggest separating it into different jars to cure at different stages and trying it through out the cure so you know when it's right. It gets better everyday!

I was just thinking about when I was a kid I would always get yelled at by my grandpa to stay the hell out of his tomatoes and now that im a tad bit older and wiser I can remember my pops tomato plants looking alot like cannabis .

Dont know what made me even start thinking about him in the first place but I miss that old kentucky hillbilly. I wish I was older when he passed that way we could have bonded over his passion for growing

Hey canna, don't sweat the dry and cure too much, I was exactly the same also for my first one pal.

I dried mine slowly over almost 7 days. I trimmed all the main big leaves and most of the smaller easier to get to sugar leaves. Once I'd trimmed them all I hung them on the vine, keep as much as possible to slow the drying. I hung them from clothes hangers and set my extraction fan to low to keep the air flow moving, I also kept them in the dark so the THC didnt start to degrade. I kept my temperature between 16/18c and I kept my R/H between 50/60 percent. It was really dry humidity at the time so I actually added a humidifier outside the tent by the passive intake vent so some got sucked into raise the humidity. It really helped keep it up. I checked them a couple of times a day to make sure there was no mold etc and I made sure each bud was spread out from the next and none were touching so airflow could get to each side of the buds. I then cured for 4 weeks before I tried any. I got a lovely smooth burn and light grey colour ash, I was most happy. I didn't wait till the stems were dry and made a snapping sound tho, from what I've read it seems the nugs would have been to dry for curing then. I waited till they were crisp on the outside but could still feel a bit of moisture on the inside. Once I jarred them up I gave them a final small manicure and pulled all the buds from stems. I opened the jar once every 8 to 12 hours to start, removing all the buds out of the jar for 10 or 15 mins or so and then putting them back in the jar in a slightly different order. After a couple of weeks I was just airing them every other day and that's what I'm still doing now. The fresh cut chlorophyll smell took mine about two weeks of curing before it finally went away and started to get its smell. Just try to dry it as slow as possible and don't let the RH get to low or the buds fully dry out before curing. Don't keep a fan on the buds either I think that would dry them far to quickly. I found my extraction fan was enough.

Don't panic you've got this, just keep an eye on them a couple of times a day and keep buds from touching when hanging. Just make sure you keep some moisture for the cure as its important to getting it to smell and burn how you would like.

Good luck, I can't wait to see how you get on.
