Unknown Strain From Seed - First Time Grow

On the issue of cutting at a 45 degree angle, I have always thought this was to increase surface area for rooting. I have heard many times recently of additionally adding a vertical slit from the bottom to achieve the same end. I have never tried this but will certainly do so with my next cuttings, however I would try a T shaped cut to add even more surface area.

Sounds like it would work good

That's how I do it. I 45 degree and x slit at bottom for rooting hormone to be used by cuttings

However, let me add that my current half a dozen or so clones were not put straight in water, no cloning powder/gel was used, no absorbent material such as rock wool was used, no humidicrib type set up or such like, no water spray, no vapour - nothing! I simply cut them and plopped them straight into the clay pebbles on top of my pot and watered regularly. I have not lost one and not one wilted. Cannabis, as I always say, is an incredibly resilient plant. I will caution, however, kiddies, don't try this at home!

I might further add that they are suffering nute burn, but apart from that they are all healthy. Reason being is I didn't really care and just stuffed them there when I pruned as an if they grow ...

This is my baby Afghan Kush reg seed, I am praying it's a fem

Looking awesome and delicious, Ken. Have you thought about a journal for the next one?
There are many here among us now who stand to benefit from your experience.

Sorry, I was reading backwards and didn't see your comment about your journal.

How about links in a signature for easy reference?

Looks like we're on the same page here. I'm an old timer outdoorsman doing my first indoor grow (see signature below).

I've spent 35 of the last 40 years in hot climes around the world and am now back to the polar regions. I tell you this cold weather and shorter days can kiss my arse. Do not like!

I like BC my temps are easily meet for growing day time 74 humidity 20 and night time 50 humidity 20 so I get great color changes and nice resin. But I miss south Cali

I'm using LEDs so temps are not an issue. If anything, they are helping in keeping them at the right temp. I haven't checked the temps since I flipped mine, but I can certainly feel the humidity rise. Thankfully the fan and extraction, even if it's currently passive, are ameliorating that issue.

The colder nights (dark time) are also super beneficial. I won't check my night temps now since I flipped as I don't want unwanted light leak, but have no issue with the differential.

I have to admit I know nothing about CFLs and am somewhat dubious.
That being said, my only other indoor grow attempt 100s of years ago before the cops finally relieved me of my burden, was using old style grow fluoro tubes and that seemed to go well in veg.

I wouldn't trust d.c. either but I live outside Seattle in mountlake terrace it's so beautiful and my favorite place I lived. I moved here to be close to my daughter, I had my red card in Cali so growing always been a passion of mine. I love it, it's more addicting than anything.
