Tyson's 4x4 ScrOG Feat: Mimosa In DWC 2019

Thanks guys. Shes drinking at least 3/4 gallon/day now. I used to add 11 gallons to fill it but now I only need 10 due to the root mass. It's getting to that point were humidification during lights on is becoming unnecessary because of how much shes grown. Of course the flip side is that dehumidification during lights off is even more important. Here's a pic 24 hrs after the latest tuck:

She's a little thin in the front, got that Lebron James hairline going on. But she'll fill out soon enough.

Crazy to think this was a week ago!
I know right? I cant wait to see another week's growth. You can see what I mean about guessing flip timing. I'm wondering if I will see a stronger stretch in dwc as I've seen faster veg growth.

Hi! I'm still on page 1 but I wanted to say hi and give some well deserved props. I really appreciate your logical, methodical way of doing things. It's inspirational. And I think you're the first US grower I've seen do a proper scrog. I'm really curious about your day job, as I've noticed a consistent pattern among growers. Highly educated, techy engineering types do things much differently and it's so obvious to me. So yeah, good job! :ganjamon:

Hahaha, I have 2 degrees, Aerospace Engineering and History, so techy for sure. I do sports analytics from a wagering perspective for work, which at first sounds like it doesnt match up, but it's all math and historical trends, so right up my alley.

I have an hps bulb for flower and I normally start using it towards the end of stretch in order to help minimize it.

Thank you for the kind words. It's probably because the Scientific Method has been beaten into me from a young age. I have a strong passion for cannabis and an equally strong distrust for the future of "Big Weed", so I advocate everyone to grow.

Wow my mind isn't feeding me total bs? Sweet! Validation feels good.
I'm so glad you typed those last couple lines. Maybe you'll be receptive to what I'm about to tell you. Big weed has arrived and has already made big moves. A few yrs ago, Scotts /Miracle Grow decided they wanted a piece of the rapidly growing pie. The indoor grow pie. In fact, they decided they wanted the biggest piece. So through The Hawthorne Group, they bought General Hydroponics. And Botanicare. And Dynagrow. On a side note, both Home Depot and Walmart sell grow lights now. Well the online stores anyways.
So yeah, I stay away from those companies now. There's plenty of manufacturers that are canna lovers like us and support and give back. Big Mike from AN is a super duper philanthropist. Things like that mean a lot to me. And my wallet
:ganjamon:

Yea, I know Big Weed is already moving in, but I meant more on the production side. When big cigarette companies like RJ Reynolds and Lorillard get involved. Who knows what kind of stuff will be in there in 20 years. As far as nutes, I've heard both good and bad things about AN as a company. I think they are overpriced simply because they are one of the companies that admits they are for weed, which is cool, but I dont want to pay for it. I think the whole pedo thing was a little overblown because, if I remember right It had nothing to do with Big Mike but still. I'm always looking for something different to try, so maybe I'll try the Dutch Master one day, I am liking their feed chart. I've heard good things about Humboldt's Secret but have no plans to change for now.

Looking good all caught up. Can’t wait til you flip subbed for nugs!
Glad to have you DonChiefums! I'm planning on flipping soon, within the next week. What do you guys think?

She's growing so quick Ty!

If we see how much she's spreading out i'd say she's going to fill the scrog completely within the next week. So, yes! :yahoo::passitleft:

I'm gonna post an update tonight, she wakes up in 20 min, and is due for a big tucking.

7/24/19 9:00 pm Day 61
temp 81 rh 70% ec 1.6 ph 5.8 co2 1150

Got her all tucked in! I'm letting the nutes run lower because shes drinking alot and the ec is slowly rising. I top off with plain ro water (with hydroguard) and that brings my ec back down a bit. My pH has been pretty stable, I'm trying to let it fluctuate a little bit. I noticed my chart says start seedlings at 6.2 and work down to 5.7ish at harvest. Buy I've heard the opposite, start more acidic 5.6-5.9 for veg, and more basic 5.9-6.2 for flower. Keep in mind this is hydro, but what do you guys think? I think with quality synthetic nutes and healthy root zone, its doesnt matter too much, especially if you let if fluctuate. That being said, I wouldnt go outside of 5.6-6.2 ideally.
I got a new tech toy that I'll show off whenever it arrives. Getting ready for humidity to start becoming more of an issue. I hooked up my carbon filter to the humidity exhaust fan. It's not super smelly yet but the first few hours of lights off you can smell it throughout the house. It is just a 200cfm 6" booster fan but it gets the job done for now. I plan to upgrade to a 6" inline fan once flowering gets underway because the booster will not be able to keep up.

After tuck

Here's the plan:
tuck at end of day 66
flip on end of day 69
tuck at end of day 71 (flower day 2)
tuck at end of day 76 (flower day 7)
that's it! then let her stretch from there

I'm gonna hold off on the defoliation until sometime around day 14 of flower. Once the canopy builds up enough to really block light below the screen. Right now the lower leaves still receive a fair amount of light, both through the canopy and from the walls of the tent. Once the canopy is wall to wall and thick, this wont be the case and the necessity of those leaves is diminished. I'm aiming for a canopy that reaches around 15" above the screen.

I just changed the res out for the final time in veg. I'm thinking I'll change it 6-7 times through flower. Here's a breakdown of the nutes, I dropped it to 45% the recommended dose, that brought me to 1.5ec

Per 10 gallons: . . . . . . ppm (700 scale)
starting ro . . . . . . . . . . 70
armor si 10ml . . . . . . . 90
calmag 25ml . . . . . . . . 340
floramicro 45ml . . . . . 760
flora grow 45ml . . . . . . 990
flora bloom 22.5ml . . . 1070
ph down 6ml
hydroguard 20ml

I managed to get some root pics with the res empty. Might be taking over my water pump. I'm about to put the new mix into the res and I'm going to do so through the water pump. Hopefully this reverse flow will push any roots out if they are in there. I'll continue this every res change and it should help control any problems from roots in my water lines. The last pic is with 10 gallons pumped back in, brings it to 1-2" from the net pot.
