Twelve12's Breeding Program

bigirishdoode, go with coco/perlite your moms will grow much faster providing more clones.

HighFlyin5, yes for some strains. Not all seeds will be available but some will be and if need to we can speed up the breeding process much sooner. By the time we harvest the seeded buds we already got the progeny as seedlings.

Bassman59, right now I'm feminizing the winning plants to get only females. Doing it naturally by letting them flower longer. I harvest the cola and leaves the lower buds to turn hermie for self-pollination. Working on a small production of Firestorm feminize seeds right now. Also crossing new strains as I get males from regular seeds.

HighFlyin5, interesting question. Best to let them grow out the seeds and keep and eye on them after 2 weeks, check the calyx to see if they are ripe and let it go one more week. Some seed take longer to develop while some finish under 3 weeks. Use a toothpick and slightly open the pod and look for shell color. If they are dark it is ready, pick those and let it dry a few days and germinate it. That's the only way to "speed things up" to get a preview of the strain without having to wait additional 2 weeks. That's how I used to do it but now there are too many things going on I let it finish along with bud development since not all buds are pollinated, only a few lower popcorn ones. There are lots of testing done before mass pollination for commercial scale.

What strain are you looking to cross?

I accidently created a lot of female pollen once by having the power go out for four days and the temps got into triple digits during that time. Ruined the bud with a massive overpollination and I was a newb then feeling that the seeds would all be hermaphrodites. I look at it now that it was a windfall that I threw away.

<groan> :oops:aww man... Well, now, at least you know! :allgood:

It has been a good journey so far into the breeding program. Already loving the two cross I've made; Firestorm and Downtown Stumble. Not saying that because they are mine, no if they suck I will let you know, just like any strains I grew.

Still growing out other crosses of mine and working on F2, selection, and breeding at the same time in rotation. None of the new cross are stabilize and not for sale/trade. Please keep this in mind. Someday they may be available from a seed bank if the law change or when I move to safe ground.

This is part of an experimentation that is for personal use, and satisfaction of over coming challenges in creating with nature.

Please do not ask me to send you the seeds, or for trades, or to buy them. Since I started showcasing the seeds (close ups) I get private messages from others wanting them. I'm flattered that you want to take the time, energy, and resources to grow out my "gear" but to protect us both it cannot be done, at this time. :Namaste:

Just have to wait for that day to come. And I will make sure to let everyone know when that day is here. Of course I'll become a sponsorship here before spreading the words. First important task after selection is stabilization. That has been all on my mind right now. Oh and sampling nugs at different curing stages...

My reason to document the breeding program is so I can trace the steps back if need to, and to inspire others to take up on their own breeding experiments.

So getting seeds from me is FORBIDDEN (at this time). Thanks for reading. :Namaste:

That's in the TOS I think the heading for that section was "Hook-up's". I am patiently waiting for you to sponsor up and start advertising your wares. I did get a little jolt this morning with my "prize" for post #420, but I know THAT can't be done either. although I'd love to sample, I didn't even ask. hehehe. Said it before, and will say it again, "HURRY UP BRUDDAH!" :high-five::thankyou::MoreNutes:

thats spot on info 12! your always full of the kick ass knowledge, i have done this exact thing after i noticed seeds falling out of the calyxes i figured why not germ em'! :thumb:

i knew this had to be the case despite really really REALLY wanting to grow some of your crosses *cough FIRESTORM!!* I knew better than to ask, the time will come,,someday.....nudge lol till then i follow this journal ask questions and help if i can:Namaste:

Different varition of Firestorm

Continue with the Firestorm (Pineapple Express x Grapefruit Diesel) there are two more variation.

This is Firestorm #7, purple pheno, yield a bit less than #1 and #4. The bud formation is quite beautiful, lots of trichome coverage, the aroma is the same with all of them. Flushing it at the moment and should be ready to harvest in 7 days. Hope for more purple to come through.

This is Firestorm #4, average pheno, yield more than #1 and #7 plant, not so much trichome on the leaves, aroma same as others, bud has loads of crystals. Also flushing this one and will harvest in 7 days. I let this one grew wild did not trim much of the lowers, they became secondary tops.

I'm going to keep all three plants and grow more of them, see how they clone, and the vigor of clones, and its smoke to really finalize the selection.

Enjoy. :Namaste:

#7 is a sweet pheno brother...i had misread your post about speeding up the breeding process I thought you were referring to the seed development...thanks for all the info bro and as far as crosses I'm not really trying to go into crossing yet just thought i would try my hand at some fem seeds and i was thinking of selfing an auto so i was interested to see average time to produce viable seed

HighFlyin5, thank you. Oh, for seed development speeding up well…that cannot be done, but from my observation some seeds will be ready within 3 weeks after pollination. Each week after that the more seed will ripen but all will be done on its own, strain vary.

jandre2k3, the purple pheno has a bigger calyx (more swollen) but yield less, looks cool with purple hues on some spots. Yeah it was not ready to be presented. Got lots going on and no help so best to wait when the new strain are new finish to showcase them.

It all come down to smoke report if any of the 3 phenos I have lack in potency then they will not move on to the next round. Growth appearance only satisfy the grower, the effects benefit all. Yes, it will be hard to pick the champion! Stay tunes…

Dr.RedWhite, some day!

bigirishdoode, thank you.

Sampling the Firestorm #4 (green pheno) and is very potent, fast reaction, effects last long. It let my mind think up new options in which I've never thought of. Reconnecting inactive cells and electrocute them into active mode. Very motivational and physically active. Smell like dankness. Got many more FS#4 in flowering, can't wait! I'm also in the process of crossing this one with Berry Bomb!

MG_3018.jpg

This is the Downtown Stumble (Vanilla Kush x Grapefruit Diesel), my second cross awhile back. The only strain has all leaves reaching up, no matter how close the light is it reaches. I noticed most of the cross with Grapefruit Diesel has some purple coming through. Would not be a surprise if this one has some too in few weeks. I'm also in the process of crossing this one with Berry Bomb!

White Widow from GHS. I think this pheno is not as frosty as the ones I've seen from GHS. Yet, the effect is sought after. I'm cross this one with ATA Tundra, and Berry Bomb for experiment. Like the fact that WW has fast finish time, and is very potent.

They all look great 12/12!

And your picture quality is fantastic. I bought a $140 digital just for my journal, but I only know how to point and shoot.
