Tutankharmon - 400HPS - Soil Coco Mix - Grow

plant looks great,

the commenst about leaf removal is a bit up in the air, some growers do remove leaves and others dont, some plants i strip right back and use the defol method form seed to harvest, others i remove leaves that are blocking growth and you do see that the growth starts pretty quick after you let the light in, so both methods work, you can remove leaves and you can leave them on, both produce great results, how ever their is a time when i dont remove any leaves at all, when you flip 12-12 its best not to do anything to the plants for the next 21 days, their doing their stretch so any leaf removal or topping will stunt growth and decrease yield, some lst can be done to help the plant bush out but i would not remove leaves during that 21 day window,

if your interested in defol method hit up bassmans journal or smokemups journal, both use defol method and bassman has got all the info on when to do it along with pics of the amazing results he gets, but some plants i dont do anything to, others i top of fim and some i strip naked and the new growth is pertty shocking, but plants bounce back from anything so all methods will produce great results,

@Light Addict, just remember ist best to undo the lst work at least once every 2 weeks and let the plant stretch, the stem and the branches keep growing so the wire holding the plant down will cause problems with it not growing as quick as it should, the top of the plant will grow as normal and the ends of the branches but the stem is also growing and stretching so i undo my lst at least once ever 2 weeks and just let the plant stretch for a few hours then put the ties back on, it just stops problems like the ties cutting into the plant or stops the plant staying short by not letting it stretch,

Cheers Dpaul, youve hit me up before with similar post about bassman etc, Ive even relayed and tried to post a link for someone, to him. I have stated that I release the training now and again and let things breath as it were and plus I adjust every single day plant wide. As for the time you dont defol yeah unless you are stunting fot a reason. As I have been before and might still be if icant be bothered with my m8s small tent and all that set up.
Sorry if I sound funny its just after POTM win and all the interest I got on my techniques I wanted to post a grow followin the same regimen to share. This is why I might be a little short sorry. I did state in my intro that all advice welcome, but I might not listen.
No disrespect my friend just wanted to share my styles and techniques after my most prized accomplishment in years POTM.

not taken my friend, i was more replying to a previous comment about removing leaves, it was not aimed at what you do to your plants, i couldnt remember to be honest if you did say you let the plants stretch as im subbed to way to many journals and help pages so its hard to remember all the info so i just said it so others can read and if you then said you did do it it confirms what i said and its just more advice for new growers who want to follow the lst method you use, the only comment that was really for you was the stretching part as really couldnt remember, the rest of my post was answering quetions and comments from other growers so was just trying to give them some advice.

removing leaves is high stress as is topping. topping more than once is even more high stress. lsting is low stress. it hurts, but doesnt compromise the plant. youre not removing anything, youre breaking something which takes time to heal. growing new fan leaves to compensate for all the work it lost is going to take a lot longer to "heal" (cause its gone, its gotta grow back) compared to a mild to heavy break. sometimes you get lucky and don't even break or supercrop the plant

lsting also brings a lot of the plant into the light. removing fan leaves is taking away light.

if you have a long veg I hear trimming is the way to go. it makes the plant grow back crazier and crazier, more tops, so more bud. you have to make sure to top the plant though, or remove bud sights not just leaves lol I cant believe or see how leaf removal can benefit at any time of growth

I caught mold outside so now I can see how air flow is more important, and removing spent leaves that mold up easily. I will never wet my foliage again. I never did indoors, but I did outdoors when I watered and I caught blight and it spread BAD cause I didn't know what it was till someone told me from one pic I forget his name. good man

hey Light Addict, nice grow you have going so far.

here are pics of my Tut. Used just about every nute I had on the shelf at least once on her and she was fantastic. Great yield.

Pollinated her with a male Querkle and grew one out a bit ago and it's some potent stuff.

Sorry Dpaul and peeps just had a bit of a grump on last night It seems Your wisdom is always welcome here my friend.Im getting what you mean, also subbed to way to many journals.
b.real your not the only one,I stopped spraying/misting many moons ago, plants just dont need it in my opinion.
Hash hound welcome and god damm that looks nice. What would you categorize her stretch and flowering growth like. She is supposed to be real quick strain to flower?
Again sorry peeps all vibage back to level green.

I see it is not just South Africa that suffers with poor service delivery. Good luck LA. Hope everything gets sorted soon.

Thanks guys, I feel a bit better knowing It isnt just me that the universe's tryin to screw with lol.

...I don't know about that light...but I'm sure someone will be on here soon that does

A snippet from another site on infra red hope it helps.

The plants use red and infrared light to regulate stem growth and flowering response. Plant cells produce a chemical called a phytochrome, which has two versions. One version, PR, is sensitive to red light (660 nm). Red light converts PR into PFR. PFR signals the plant to grow short stocky stems and also helps the plant grow into specific shapes. The plants also use red and infrared light to measure uninterrupted darkness. As far as plants are concerned in terms of flowering, if there's no red light, it's dark.

PFR is sensitive to infrared light (730 nm), which converts it into PR. When PR levels build to a critical amount, scientists hypothesize that a hormone called floragen becomes active and induces the plant to flower. The reason floragen is called hypothetical is that researchers can see its effects, but they haven't found it yet.

PFR reverts to PR naturally. For PFR to be present, it must be renewed continuously by the presence of red light. When plants are shaded, they get less of the needed red light. In the absence of red light, the PR version predominates and the stem stretches to reach the light. Lower side branches shaded by leaves from above have PR and grow longer until they reach the light. Then they modify their growth in the presence of PFR.
