You may want to consider pruning her lower branches. Or, if you prefer, shave her legs.

Those lower bud sites will only produce popcorn nuggets. Just a waste of energy that would be better directed towards the tops.

If it was me, I would start at the top of each branch, count down 5 nodes, then strip everything below. In my current grow, I stripped 3-4 nodes down. I may have removed a little too much, but we'll see.

Just a thought... Let's see what the rest of the gang thinks.

EDIT: I went back and took a better look at your girl. She looks great. I may be a little late for such a heavy pruning. I didn't realize buds were already forming when I made my comment. I thought she was still in the stretch. Disregard this comment altogether.

It's crazy how much water she is drinking. It's about a gallon a day. I'm sure some of it may be the inefficiency of the 5 gallon set up. The tent temps are 81 so I'm sure there is some evaporation there also. Is this about what everyone's else water use is?

When they hit a size like that, they will drink quite a bit of water. That is why when I transplant then into a container that is 18-20 gallon size and put 10 gallons of water. How have your water temps been ? If on the worm side, trying finding coolers at a thrift store. I've picked up a few for $7. I've gotten one that can hold 5 gallons and another that can hold 7. They will keep the water temps in the ideal range better and longer. Until you decide to drop $300-500 for a water chiller. I have yet to try making a recirculating system with coolers yet...

She's 49 inches.. She can slow down anytime now..

I'll take pictures tomorrow.. I have about 8 inches of vertical space till I run out... Unless I can hang my led horizontal to one side.. Hopefully she'll bud faster and stop growing upwards. She fills the whole tent in diameter

You could put her in a 3 1/2 gallon bucket and gain about 6 more inches , they are the same diameter as a 5. She should be close to the end of her stretch .

Here she is the sister giant.. Me and the wife are going to raise the light as high as we can go which will give us another 6 inches so she will be 7inches under the light. That's all I can do... The Mars light isn't terribly hot she's an inch from the light now.. No burn.. The buds are looking better.. A little bigger than last week.. Still about a gallon a day.. I premake my nutes. And add them every other day. And straight RO water the other day..

Well I raised the light.. Had to take her out of the tent. And out of the water. She doesn't like it. Only 20 minutes out of water the top wilted over. Hopefully it recovers in the next day or two.. I had no idea this was going to be 5 feet tall..
