Tryan2grow1 Second Time Grow - Autos In DWC With Mars-Hydro LED

Hopefully the remaining seeds for the Blue Mystic show the same pheno traits. The plant growing now would have been a great candidate for topping and then lots of training. But before any duplicate flavors are grown, next in line is a White Widow and/or a Lemon OG Haze. Again both autos. Let me get this auto thing out of my system then back to photo period beans. Now that's looking to the future. Inventory now on bag seed and auto seeds will get me thru another several years....lol.

Stuck the camera in the tent in the pitch black and snapped off a sleeping photo of the ladies. Can you say whataluckyshot?

Be careful! I swear I read somewhere that even a flash going off is bad during dark time flowering. They put it "does the sun suddenly flash at full intensity during the night? No"

Could be urban myth but hate to have something go wrong.

Thank you Scoooter, This wives tale has been heard here also. Not too concerned about the added torture on these two. The Blue Mystic hasn't yet made up her mind as to what phase she really wishes to participate in and the NL is doing whatever she wants. Bud here, veg there. Yup that's the NL. Besides it wasn't the sun flashing in the middle of the night, it was a meteor.....lol. And from what I've read the light cycle of autos really can't be messed up. They are to do there thing regardless of the light cycle. We'll see. Btw, this was a first at taking an after lights out photo ever due to exactly the reason you stated. It's the thought that counts Scoooter. Thank you for looking in and putting me back on path not to torture my ladies.

This is what I remember reading.....One advantage of this internal timeclock is that auto-flowering strains can be grown outdoor in a city environment where the ambient light at night may be too bright for photoperiod plants to be able to make buds. Autos don't care if they're exposed to light at night.

Rest assured this would not happen with photoperiod gals. These autos are tough ones for sure.

Both res' showed a falling water level, an increase in ppm and a static ph level. The change in ppm for the NL was minimal so she is almost dialed in perfectly. Additional top off water was added to the BM to lower her ppm a bit per the plant diagnosis chart. Going to allow both plants to go two days with what they have now then res change. Thanks to all for looking in and watching these two miracles of Mother Nature.

They are certainly cranking right along!
Hey when you have to top off and the PPM are lower are you adding higher PPM soup to get where you want to be? I am adding about a half gallon a day to each bucket and the PPM will be down about 50 each day. It does go back up after topping off but not to 600 where I started. I am topping off with 600 PPM water like I added when I changed.

Knowing the trend that the top off water will need to bring down the ppm it has a lower nute ratio than the original water. This allows for the top off water to have a lower ppm. This allows for the res ppm to be "diluted" or lowered. This week's top off water was measured out at 1/4 strength nutes where as the original res had 1/2 strength nutes. The exact ppm of the top off water was not recorded this week. But the original ppm at the time of this res change was around 850. Then each day the ppm would jump a bit but would be lowered down with the addition of the lowered ppm top off water. The highest ppm this week was around 900 and then today each res is around 825. Now in the opposite situation if the ppm needs to go up then the top off water would need to have a higher ppm than what is in the res or higher than the original nute strength. As far as the supplements go full strength is used for the volume of water. My method is by no means an exact science. It's more like trial and hopefully no errors. One never really knows between res changes what nutes the plants are actually consuming or leaving behind to mess up the numbers. At least not in this world. For sure there are monitors that determine this info but that is in my kid's cultivating future. So now that everything is clear as mud, any questions?

So if your water level is falling, your ppm are falling and your ph is static your doing good. The plants are asking for a higher ppm in this situation. So to increase the ppm above the original res ppm the top off water would need to be higher than the original res water. Hope this helps.

Ok sounds like what I have been doing pretty much as well. Since I do a full change weekly it starts off normal then creeps down.

I built a spreadsheet early on that calculated the % of each nute by PPM and you input the water you need to add which would give you the formula to use to bring up full strength for the week you were in. Then a week later realized that yes.. you have no idea WHICH nute they are drinking so that won't work. lol

Lol. Yours is much more organized. .

It has the information that is found as helpful. How much water are they drinking? Real easy measurement from the top of the bucket. Then ppm and ph levels and the difference plus or minus. Then this sheet keeps data entry date and time. These stats make simple reading of the plant diagnosis chart.

Rock on my friend.

Such a great read. Have learnt loads from your journal mate, cheers! Your plant diagnosis chart is gold! Wishing you and the ladies all the best! Keep it up!

Question. Does it hurt to leave my tent doors wide open? Are the plants missing out on photons bouncing off that one side or does it really matter? No need to worry about odor here so most times when lights are on the doors are open if I am around. Or do you all recommend the doors be closed? Give me your thoughts please. Thank you for looking in team.
