4/6/18 - Friday again. It's a rainy day here today so will probably get a lot done.
I completed batch 2 of my Tincture and currently evaporating it down.
After initially straining the mixture I run it through a coffee filter to filter out the fine residual plant matter -
This may look strange but I use one of those round cosmetic cotton pads on the bottom of the pan. When you set the Pyrex measuring cup on top it prevents the bubbles underneath the cup from vibrating.
I put the handle of the Tincture Measuring cup over the edge of a sauce pan which prevents it from accidently getting knocked over. I' starting with 1/2 liter (500 ml) and will probably evaporate it down to less than 100 ml. Depending how it looks and tastes. If not much THC, I may take it down to an oil.

Glad do have you along for the ride. It will take much of the morning to evaporate down the mixture. I was tempted to take a sample but decided to wait until it is evaporated down to 100 ml.

Mrs G - Day 61 Stretched another 2 inches overnight
Mrs G Rev 1 - was stretching as well - Hard to tell from the first picture but I did a harsh LST on her main stem to force the lower buds to grow out.

I got impatient waiting for the evaporation so switched to plan B. I poured all the tincture into a frying pan and expedited the evaporation. When I evaporated it down by about 90% could see the oil separating from the Alcohol so added 4 tablespoons of Coconut oil. I also added 1 Tablespoon of Lecithin. I kept in on the simmer awhile longer to evaporate off the remainder of the alcohol and was finished. I jarred it up but not before testing it.... I took 1 ml at 10:30 and was getting a slight buzzzzz by 11:00. The buzz is a very relaxing body high but not a couch lock.
I took my daily 7 mile walk and found the mild relaxing high was with me the whole walk. It is now 2:00 PM and I can still feel he body high... hmmm... thinking of taking a nap but will see.
Warning: Highly Flammable. Do not evaporate PGA down over open flame and make sure you have good ventilation. I have an induction range so can control my temps really easily.

thats awesome man... Ive always wanted to try it... But i have the worst luck and probably blow myself up lol... Maybe this summer... Outside far way from the house lol thanks for posting your process!
- Action packed in here, I see some rocket building. Love your experiments!!!Question for you...do you think if I packed my MB2 with leaves and a little bud, and 1 cup of oil, will it still mix it all together, or do I have to have oil past the line that is the limit? @Troy01

What I've found is that if you decarb in the oven first then crunch it up by hand and load into the MB2. You need to be above the minimum line but below the maximum line. Fill oil so it is just barely covering the product. You should be fine.
You could try it with 1 cup of oil to see if it's enough to get it working. Let it runs until you hear the blade chopping for about 15-20 minutes and then go back and take the lid off to see if its been chopped down into a mash. If not add a little more oil.
I have to tell you I have not used oil before. I like to make an alcohol tincture first so I can concentrate it down.

Update ---It's 4:30 and the body high is starting to disappear. I have to confess I did end up taking a 1 hour nap. So 1 ml stayed with me for about 6 hours. I have a feeling there's a lot of CBD in the brew as I'm very relaxed. I did get the munchies about 2:00.
Here's my final product - about 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil infused. There is no alcohol taste at all and a nice coconut undertone.

You should be safe outside with a electric one burner (very inexpensive). If it were to catch fire it would be like a frying pan at a French restaurant when they flame it.

Except instead of 30ml of firey liquid you may have 250ml of fiery liquid
I have a portable induction hot-top at work that was only $40 or so (Aud) if you can source one. Just have to make sure your pan is ferrous or it wont work.

You are of course correct. 250 ml is a lot of fuel. I really enjoy my induction stove it really almost instant control. I also have a strong extraction vent and keep a fan blowing in the room. I find that you want the heat to be about 78 C (173 F) the boiling point of Ethanol - you will notice little bubbles
Nice! I like the oils you make! I like that we kinda had an adventure it went update lol. I can’t tell by the description it’s a good time. That’s my only problem with ingestion, I need the nap! I usually will only do it at night. Sucks yawning at the bar lol.
Ya Troy I’m hearing a lot lately bro that most do a decent prune / defoil job week before they flip lights and we’ll or so after or after stretch then it’s juts taking small stuff away as you see fit rest of grow. Seems like a lot of good growers liek derbybud use this tactic and no offence but have you seen the mans plants @Derbybud3/2/18 - Fast update today. I have to go pick up my daughter today about 100 miles away. Yes Alison is coming over to celebrate Briar Rose's Birthday. (that is the real Alison and Briar).
The tent is starting to fill in as the girls continue to grow. They all really perked up today with all the extra COB light.
Dee and Olga each put on another inch and are now at about 13"
