Trala’s Tent

Happy Mother's Day, Trala! Hope you get spoiled as much as you deserve.

My favourite salty/sweet combo is a chocolate Frosty and fries. I also love kettle corn. :battingeyelashes:
Thank you Hashgirl. I did get spoiled. My son bought me two plants and a cute book I’ll get pics hang on. My son makes me a card every year, and this year my grandson helped illustrate it. Tbh as you can see, my grandson has the artistic talent of a one armed chimpanzee with a brain injury. Lolllll

My favourite sweet savoury combo is honey glazed

carrots with a porterhouse streak. All of my mains have a sweet savoury, well not all but most.

Happy Mother's Day Tra!
Coolest mom ever!
Thank you!

Coolest mom ever… said no one ever till today :)

Happy Mother’s Day @Trala
Thank you sweetheart.

Sure I’m always down for killing critters - what tricks have you got up your sleeve??
My advice, your pots are too big to manage and in my opinion you have way too much going on. I have said this to you before. Your grow starts to look like the old lady who swallowed a fly, she then swallowed a spider to get the fly, then a bird to get the spider, then a cat the get the bird, in the end I think she swallows a fucking horse and dies. The thing is all she had to do was wait and shit out the dead fly.

If what you were doing was working then crack on, but it’s not. It’s time to rethink. I would simplify. The thing with people who have had grows ruined by bugs, we can spot that pin prick tell tale leaf damage from a mile away in the dark. We really see the plant. That is our super power. Our cupboard of sprays is our weapon.

As you know, my areas are super clean, so I don’t have that worry. If your grow area isn’t super clean, then clean it. Take everything non grow related out. It only houses canna. Starting again changed everything. New dirt. Clean pots. New seeds. For me the game changer is the toxic insect surface spray each month. Obviously not when the plants are in my grow space. I don’t even see an ant in there anymore.

The final thing is the BIG commitment. Daily inspections. At least twice a week I spot a suspect leaf. And when I do they all get doused.

This new approach has worked for me and I think it could work for you. You have so much knowledge and you deserve a bumper crop.

Thanks :) :) :)

I’m definitely starting to see areas I have improved.

Made me lol at me before.

Me: Right, stop being so fucking extra. Just dial it back 10 notches. Nip a bud, take a pic and upload it like a normal person.

Also me:

So I’m after glitter advice on Sunny Bee.

I noticed the tiniest beginning of bud rot today. Conditions here are just prime for it. It’s wet and the the air is moister than a nuns knickers on sausage night. It’s 81% humidity in the flower room.

So I nipped the bud and cleaned it up and thought I’d get some feedback. I couldn’t pick a trim window to save myself. I think I’m seeing all clear, or all cloudy, one or the other. No amber. Apart from her hair. How cool is that btw? Those vibrant orange hairs?

Thanks Tra, I’m always down for fresh perspective!

The flower room is single purpose with no fluff but the tent’s located in a tool room. I clean regularly but we’re out in the sticks surrounded by myriad of working farms & forest land so theres always room for improvement.

The twin 30 gallon bags are a freaking chore to undo, it’s not something I can or want to handle right now anyway. I’m all set with soil in spades, 12 bags of brand new soil; I’m excited to try this line, theres a regular potting soil mix, a combo chicken & cow poop mix, and Coast of Maine knock-off crustacean mix. Last year made 120 gallons of Farside05 faux mix still have 90 gallons of that left and a whole bevy of brand new 3, 5 & 7 gallon smart pots & bleached out 7 gallon Air Pots.

The plan is to flower plants out in the tent, that room is cooler for summer anyway win/win. The 4X4 tent is empty and was just deep cleaned. Will double nuke it anyway, round 1 being chem spray, round 2 is a No Pest Strip. Easy Peasy to implement that change.

April thru November requires circular trek from boonies, to city, to mountains and the lake. On a good week I’m home 3 - 4 nights. She will help by hosing down the girls when it’s time but already has a lot on her plate / limited interest. All thing considered I’m fortunate to have any kind of indoor garden over warm season.

Throwing down gauntlet on outdoor this year, it’s legal but will be stealthy. Have a few locations each below a karst to keep it tended. Gotta crash & burn catch you on the flip,

Cant wait to sit in on your next attempt :)

Just watch the rot closely, it can ramp up and spread faster than you can say Ticonderoga!
Omg I will.

Sooooo annoying. I’ve cranked up the humidifier so it will sit at 65% going forward.

Budrot! Noooo! Even worse than nits!
Omg I knowwwww!

Tra, are you using a humidifier or a dehumidifier to bring the humidity down?
Hmmm I don’t know. It’s a humidity thing that makes water come out of the air.

$50 off marketplace. Omg there’s a funny story to it too.
exactly what I thought when I saw "humidifier" :thedoubletake:
Omg I don’t know. It does make the humidity go down. I think I may have been calling it the wrong thing. It’s like the word Jizz all over again! For the first 3 years of using it, I thought jizz meant something sticky! Not. Even. Joking!

Oiiii @DeeBoy

We got another one!

Saving Private Warren Worm

At the shops today I saw a partially squished worm. Made me so sad, so I checked for signs of life just in case, and it wiggled! So then I was big smiling! I carried him to a garden area and helped him get under his dirt blanket.

Trala Mother of Green Dragons, rescuer of bees, saviour of butterflies, liberator of lizards, rebirther of beetles, detangler of Praying Mantises/Manti, watchdog of worms!

So this happened.

It’s been 40 days since my Cleopatra Bee was born so it’s time to plant a new seed and hope for another adventure and get my perpetual on :)

Poor Sunny is banished to the broom cupboard. She has 3 live nits on her yesterday. So she’s in isolation. Lollllinggg

That makes it a dehumidifier
Well I was today years old when I learned what a dehumidifier is.

Lolllllling. And now I think of it. It makes perfect sense!

Thanks Dynamo :)
