Trala’s Tent: Lucky Edition

Looks like they're ready when you are!
I was born ready honey ;)

Look I wasn’t, and I’m not exactly ready. I finish at 1530 today and I have a 10 hour shift tomorrow. I don’t want to rush, could I start Tuesday or should I start today?

Tuesday's fine, no big hurry- the branches will just be a little longer, and that's actually a good thing!
Your Tuesday is my Monday, so it's not that far off....
I was born ready honey
So was I.... but at my age, being ready is only half the battle....;) Happy Valentines Day, Trala!:hugs:

Happy belated Valentines @Carcass

Sorry if I drove your thread into a political storm.

Happy belated Valentines @Carcass

Sorry if I drove your thread into a political storm.
Thank you! And no worries about my thread, It's squared away now...

On the Carlas- I'll download a few of your pics, mark on them what I think you should do , then upload them back here- We'll try that first and see how it works...sound ok?

It will be about 3 hours before I can do that, but I'll get them back to you tonight for sure...

Perfect!

I’m actually not on the lst tools till tomorrow.

I am sorting them tomorrow.

They don’t look as green as I’d like. In fact they look a tad hepatitisy. I think I need to now fine tune my nutes.

So I’m at work, my mans home. I send him a message “can you get me some bamboo skewers and fine wire for my plants”. He wants me to ring, so I explain skewers, like I use when I make chicken kebabs. Yep, yep, yep he says.

Nek minnut!

“can you get me some bamboo skewers and fine wire for my plants”
Well, you've gotta give him an A for effort! (that wire might come in handy)
I'll post up a pic of my skewer/wire thingys so he can see what you mean- 20gauge solid core thermostat wire is what I use, but other fairly soft wire should do the trick...

Ok, Here ya go, Trala...
A few things: When I say pull the branches down, that means carefully try and bend them down till they're almost horizontal, but not quite- then hold them there with whatever you've got (yarn, wire, string, etc.)
On Carla 3,the shorter branches don't need to be pulled down quite as far as the longer ones yet- it's easier when they get just a bit longer, so just bend them down to about a 45 degree angle for now.

You can fasten the restraints to the edge of the pot with pretty much anything that'll hold it- binder clips, clothespins, scotch tape, etc.- (or make up some of the tiedowns like I use :))
We'll be adjusting the tiedowns every day or 2 for awhile, so something re-usable would be best.

Sometimes, it may take 10 minutes to bend one branch down- there's no hurry- if they're going to break off this is when they'll do it, so just take it slow and easy. Walk away and come back later if you start to get in a hurry or impatient.

Carla 6 is a tricky one, because of the 2 main stalks- both stalks need to be topped, so do that first, then we'll start training the larger(taller) one, but let the branches on the smaller stalk grow out for a few days before we mess with them-

You can start the training on the larger stalk on Carla 6 now (or whenever you've got time-) none of this stuff has to be done immediately but once you start it, you've got to stick with it, at least until the branches all reach the edge of the pot, and probably well beyond, if everything works out...

There's more to know, and we'll cross each bridge as we come to it!

I probably left out some stuff- just let me know what it is, and I'll answer those questions..and remember- there are no stupid questions!

Here's the Carlas: ( I don't want to alarm you, but it looks like they might both have "critters"unless that's just dirt on the underside of the leaves)

Carla 3 (if I missed any branches in the pic, pull those down too)

And Carla 6 (the tricky one)
1613373049043.jpeg

And the plant tiedown materials- 1 bamboo skewer, and 3.5 inches of solid core soft(copper) wire

And Voila!... adjustable plant tie down..nuttin to it!

Well, I'm going to go smoke my stuff now....Have a great one, Trala- See you tomorrow!

Good morning, Trala!
One more thing I thought of-
You've got a better view of the plants than I do, so if I suggest something that you don't
think is right, let me know!
Even with good pics, (and yours are) I can still miss some things that
you can see "in person" ...
I can't get back on here until around 6:00pm (it's almost noon now) so I'll be back in here
then, and I'll answer any questions you may have! :goodluck:

Just inspected. It’s dirt.

Oiii Carcass. FYI I think it’s so cute you think I can go slow and have patience. I have two speeds.

1. complete stop
2. let’s fuck this shit uuuuuuuuuup!

LOLLING!

OMG your wire kebab stick = game changer.

If I learn nothing else, I thank you so much for showing me that.

I’m happy to report Cartla T still has all her arms.

Please give me any constructive criticism. Without feedback I can’t improve. As far as Carla T, she’s not looking super healthy. But I feel I can turn her. I think it was adding nutes to the cutting mix. I think it made the cocktail of soil too strong. I only just started her back on nutes yesterday.

You're a better student than you give yourself credit for!
They look good, just need to "loosen" them up a little- ideally, the branches should still have just a little upward angle to them..in other words, the far end of the branch should be about 1cm higher than the spot where that branch attaches to the stalk.
If the branches don't pop right back up when you loosen the restraints a little- don't worry, they'll lift themselves back up overnight.
Great job not breaking anything off- that's why it's good to start this stuff when the plant is young- they can get a bit brittle when they get older.
Keep up the good work!

Hmmmm I’m not sure how I did with Carla S. she is taller than CT, and that right side stem is not at all flexible like the left side.

I turned her to duplicate your cut points and I think I got them. First problem was trying to locate a fourth branch that turned out to be to growth points in a single branch. OMG I was soooooo confused! Lolllll

The branch I’m pointing at was the L side you wanted topped, which I did. I could see I could easily pin it down so I did. If this proves to be the wrong thing, I can just unpin it.
