Blue traps are sticky blue traps, that attract some bugs and flies. Just like the yellow sticky traps. I put the blue trap into the pot so that the thrips can get caught. Didn't do it this time. My bad this happened...

On the positive side the heatsinks for my light arrived, I stripped them off their fans. Great deal 5,5 dollars a piece.

Depends if you want active or passive cooling. You need bigger heatsink with passive. Also decent COB LEDs usually make 50% of the power into heat. So if you have 100W LED you need 50W heatsink or better. You can get some aluminium CPU coolers, drill and tap holes for the LEDs and use that. You need good power for fans so they do not stop and your LED fries. Good air outtake helps too. I have 450W in mind and the coolers can heat 800W so I went the safe route. There are special passive heatsinks drilled specially for different COBs.

I'm getting started with LOS (doc's kit). First plant from seed in the soil I just had to reduce to 4 branches. I topped at 5th node as usual thinking I'd get 6 good branches. All 10 took off! The top 2 branch pairs have enough side branches to completely fill canopy without additional topping. Otherwise I wouldn't have believed you could do this with a single topping.

This update is gonna be short before I go to bed. What happened:
Olla is installed in small Shark's pot.
Thrips are still munching on our girls, so I'm thinking the Spinosad was old so I'm gonna get fresh one and apply it again. More from underside too. It is safe for me, but I will bud wash this time
Fan is not rotating because it's not happy being upside down (no wonder). Getting one or two new with clip this week.
Big bushy Herer is getting bigger (stretching)
All buds are wonderful and smell great.

Thank you Jones. I find the Spinosad work the best for thrips. My hope is that the olla is gonna make top soil dry and thrips do not like that. Plus DE on top. Cheers!

Shark macro

The back-building was done on the girls. The Shark packs some weight and the Blue Dream is stiff and so hard. Herer is getting steadily better and better. The smell of the Herer is simply amazing. So the temps in tent are 70F or around 20°C. Not getting better this winter. Next winter I plan to have at least 25°C. Humidity is lower. The smell is profound and I think the granulated coal is not coping with the flow. The tent is vented like 50 times a minute. The fans are on lowest setting. The olla is beginning to shine and the Shark grows really well with it. I filled it full and I'm wondering how long will it last. I might need the reservoir as soon as possible for the best flow of water. The macro photo is not so good because the lens is not clear. The second Herer is getting monstrous and I think some moving of the plants is needed.

So I did just discovered there will be cannabis expo from 4/21 to 4/23 this year. What an opportunity to get to the cannabis industry for real. With my lights, ollas and smartpots. I might get someone interested to help me. The filter is not that good It needs the fine coal. The pebbles are not in layer thick enough for the amount of flowers. I need to tweak it all out. Haha, what a day. Update tomorrow! We will be using spinosad again to make sure the thrips are done. And the Shark is gonna get a haircut and maybe some training. Good night everyone!

Thank you Manic! The Herer surely is nice strain, the buds are getting fatter and fatter. Should be up to 10-11 weeks flowering strain. It stretches a lot though.
Spain! You two have fun! All I've heard about Spannabis was positive! I wish I could join you, but next year is a year too We got one expo (no smoking) in April and then another one (bigger, no smoking) in September I think. I met a man who is organizing the expo, turns out he has a grow shop where I bought my odor control gel today. Had a chat with him and there should be kickstarter part of the expo where I can show my ollas! And maybe even lights if I can get them together by then! Amazing opportunity! My plans are getting together. Amazing. Thank you all for your patience with me and the support you give, what an Internet family I got here.

So another day, another update! Holy smokes! The Shark with the olla is growing amazingly. She is always hard and the leaves are humongous. I gave her last haircut with some more trimming tomorrow. She is so thick I think she will perform amazing. The spinosad was used again, the thrips are pesky little buggers! I gotta get some better sprayer with long nozzle like bob suggested, but then I won't have more than 2 plants in the tent... Time will tell. They are nicely bulking up and I think the Shark is gonna go first in two or three weeks. No more problems, the second Herer is stretching like mad and the yellowing was only one time just tiny tips on all leaves when the stretch began. Well, no more talking, more photos!

I like how this cola is some 6 inches from the 250W HPS and just chills there

Smells nice fruity. I got odor control gel, the filter needs finer coal. I will be working on that at weekend.

Im going to go LED but wonder if the 220 line I installed will work? I will find out.

Did some volunteer tile work for one that the house was supposed to a neighborhood center for the community when the bastards just flipped the house!!

Thank you! I got the LED and HPS side to side, I'm gonna shuffle the Herers together to better utilize the HPS power. Good flowers for sure. I try to give to my friends, so they get the best (best I've ever had so far). I will be checking your journal today. I also want to try some CBD rich strain with THC legal limit.
