I have done it that way too :cheesygrinsmiley: The solvent is usually put in with a large amount of plant material then strained and dangerously evaporated. I have found dry ice extraction to be extremely easy and safe. My finest bag should produce a disolvable kief. This way I can also control the dose and theoretically make it "to taste" :cheesygrinsmiley: ... just thinking out loud but when I start thinking it usually happens so I will report

96 micron... then go sift that through a 73 micron.. pure granular triches, baby! Tiny bit-o-sediment (vegetable matter) but that should come out in the filtering through a coffee filter, after dissolution. Or don't filter it at all and keep all that THC goodness.

And as THsea said. If using a cold filtering and dissolving method, be sure to DECARB your material first, so it can be taken in a sublingual dose. Gotta get that COOH outa there for maximum effect. Adversely, you can very-very-very gently heat on the stove to about 210*, use a cooking thermometer, and don't touch the sides or the bottom with the "bulb". That will help reduce (concentrate) your tincture faster as well as decarb at the same time. Just remember, Everclear is VERY flammable, so don't splash on open flame.

THsea and Jandre - I really have to say I am skeptical about this step. Heating the herb I have so tried to preserve just does not make sense! I have tried to wrap my head around this many times. I once ate a lot of Moroccan hash "raw" and got a very deep effect (I took three or four bites off a large ball = to approx 10 - 15 grams) it is the only time I can remember not heating it in some form. I would rather not "cook" the tincture at all if I can get away with it. Here is what I am going to try (so as not to waste a load of pure trichomes) I am going to sift to the finest bag I have ... it may only be 90 microns. Then I am going to take only a gram or three and mix in Everclear a few drops at a time until I have liquid ... then I will consume it all :cheesygrinsmiley: ...

edit - I also wonder what the first drop or two will turn the kief into? like a paste or wax I imagine ...

You know.. I have the same feeling as you.. And I feel the THCA may have medical benefit (not psycho-active doesn't mean it isn't used)... Thats why I suggested only decarb'ing SOME of it. Perhaps a third? Who knows, its your call. Made side by side... The decarb'ed one will be more potent, there is no question (if done properly).

Do it with an edible first... You know, one day do a regular single edible recipe... Then wait a few days, decarb your product you will use and do it again. The latter will get you noticeably higher... Unless you are using an outrageous dosage to begin with, then it may be negligible. ;)

EDIT! By the way... It will still take time to dissolve properly... Even with hashish, I would strongly suggest letting your product sit no less than two weeks (stirring/ shaking a few times daily).. Good luck to you!
Btwx2.. I remember reading in many traditional hash making.. Most hashish has some from of heating, or friction/ pressing involved with it creation... I think this is why it is so edible, its already been decarbed somewhat in this action..
 
What do you know about raw leaf/bud juicing? Strictly for medical benefits, no need to get high? I saw some interesting vids on it and wanted to get your take.
also, mom and I ate some leaf/nug/carrot juice today. :yummy:

... I'm not so certain I would do it before using the micron bags... Its to be done before cooking into stuff, or its final processing... I'd really suggest to use the bags as they suggest. Decarb' before making an edible, etc... Thats what we're trying to say.

I've seen the Morrocan Hash video before, its good stuff. Theres many ways to do all this!.. I've never tried Morrocan (yet).. If its anywhere near Afgan Black it will be great stuff!... Swallowing any hash, decarb'ed, "raw" or whatever... Its essentially all cannabinoids, so you should get pretty high! We have a user named Lusi who made hash pills and did a instructional thread... I'll try to find the link, she found the difference to be pretty huge!

You know.. I've only recently heard about the juicing of leaves and such.. Haven't tried it, don't have a juicer anymore! Maybe one day! Until then.. I'll stick to eating basil leaves, and using my cannabis flowers! :ganjamon:
 
Hello!

The plants are doing well.. So the new journal will be after the seedlings are put in their veg pots...
Cherry OG came above soil today... And Vanilla Kush popped out of the seed! Good times.

Gotta remake the tent.. But thats not a huge deal. Gonna make it smaller :).. It will limit the size I can veg until... So I may start topping/ FIMing some plants.

Still over a month to go for harvests.. The order will be NL Blue, and its a bit of a toss up between the Tahoe and Dr. G... Tahoe will still probably beat the crazy sativa.
 
So... Vanilla is above ground too, kicked off her shell this morning...

As you can tell from the sig... I've decided that I don't have enough plants! ;) Started two regular Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze (SSSDH)! What a name! Most 'review' sites will label this as Super Sour Diesel... Parents being the same, I think they just don't like the original name :)

As soon as they are big enough to top... They will be, and I'll use the cutting to determine sex...

I tried this smoke before... Great stuff, rounds off that Diesel flavor with the Haze.. Its a great smooth flavor. Potent!! And its a good way to throw in another Sativa dom... Gotta have something to power me through the day! Man cannot live on indica alone... Thats the saying, right?

OMM, I was looking at the one regular commercial seed I've got left.. From DNA Genetics, Annunaki (aka Hashplant Haze)... Thinking "whats one more?"..

;) I didn't. But then I saw the two Blackberry that are feminized and thought...
"whats two more?"..

LOL! We need a Hoarders/ Intervention show for cutting/seed hoarders!

LOL! I'd be right in there with you, buddy... I got looked at with "The look" when I said I was thinking about expanding my selection... 8 strains ain't enough to get a good mix, but hey... I guess I need to lay off for a while.
 
NorCali, I'll try to when I start the new thread.. Its... Not the most attractive plant, or flowers.. Great trichome production though.

Personal matters will be setting back the new journal.. I'll try to have it up by Monday evening.. On Hawaiian time of course!

:laughtwo: Thanks FishCake! I needed a laugh.

I watered everything outdoors yesterday.. The NL Blue went from light green to dark green over night! Very pretty looking. Guess it didn't want to be shown up by the Tahoe next to her.

I've got a wonderful new type of basil (new to me).. Greek Columnar, it doesn't flower! Its living it up in a 1 gallon airpot!
