hope alls good J and Y.
i been trying to get a purple strain for ages now, bought many purple strains like purple widow which is suppose to be a true purple yet it dont turn purple, i had to stick plants out in the middle of winter when it was snowing just to get some purple, which i did and it tasted like crap so went in the trim box, i had it near a open window so it was getting really cold temps but still no purps,
so im starting to wonder if its the nutrients we give them, if you search for subcool and super soil you will see he produces some amazing purple strains using super soil, he uses no nutriets for the whole grow and just adds water, so im wondering if the nutrients we are giving them is whats stopping us getting the purple traits come out as ive grown many purple strains now and none turn purple under normal conditions even when they say they should do,
i also noticed outdoor plants and bushes that had leaves turning purple in the middle of summer, so im thinking their could be something in the nutrients thats not allowing the plant to do what it needs to do, i just wish i knew a scientist who could help with my concerns as im thinking it could be to much N or maybe a micro nutrient is stopping it turning purple, outdoor grows seem to turn purple but the plant is growing in the ground and is getting nutrients out the ground, so are we stopping the purple coming out by giving them to much nutrients or micro nutrients, i know N is what makes the leaves grow and keeps them dark green, when you stop giving N they go light green, so could another part of the nutrients affect the purple gene.
