Themaddabber's Hempy Bucket Bathtub Grow 2017

I did the orange peel thing the reading I did said not to leave it more than three or four hours
Good info LOM! Yeah I used them to rehydrate bone dry quarter pounds before. No experience with them in the dry / cure process. The jars were up pretty high last night so I left them open to burp over night. Humidity was at about 62 in the open jar so I'm hoping they're a bit dryer this morning. I'll cap em up and resume burp

Niceee finally done so u cure in jars do ur the packs alot of ppl uses I didn't wondering if it helps ?
Dude I'm not sure I really get the packs... I guess at the end to keep buds hydrated?

Idk what I'm going to do about the fact that I'm going to have wayyyyy more jars of bud than humidity testers. Guess I'll do the @Duggan...

.Teach me how to Duggan. Teach me, teach me how to Duggan .

I'm pretty sure I told you to get a boatload of hygrometers a few weeks back because you were going to need them (I have about 8). Don't MAKE me go find that post!

Yes, packs are used to keep the jars hydrated (or to dry them) during the final cure. Final cure happens after the dry when you get the jars close to 62% on their own, because the moisture has spread evenly through the bud and the whole bud is close to 62%. Boveda packs can add and remove moisture, but not at a rate you need for drying. You don't want to wait 3 days with a jar at 70% while it slowly gets to 62.

Dabbs....you got those Bovedas and Shed......my way has served me well over the yrs. Since 1987. When the buds and colas are dry enough off the strings to smoke....but still feel like a bit of moisture in them....trim all the buds off the sticks and jar them....keeping an eye on things for the next few days to a week.Once you are happy with them...leave the lids on....I am presently smoking 1, 1/2 yr. Old green crack....bin in the jar for over a yr....smokes and tastes great.Cheers.

Yea tjey basically turn your jar into a humidor for weed and not cigars lol

Lol. If I had a source of income in would be have ordered 20. On my budget, I got 2.

I'm okay with most of the larf drying out more. The 2 jars were at 60 and 59% this morning. Hay smell is already melting away to skunk and cheese smells. I capped them up will let them drift back to 63 and in cover. I have some more that should be ready for jars. I will just err on the safe side and let them dry out extra and then just check them frequently.

I have what is a 1.5 or 2 gallon lemonade jar I could use also...

But what about a nice food saver vacuum seal? I could easily cut a nice 3 foot piece and seal without air sucked out, spacing the hygrometers appropriately. I know too large of a container or over packed containers are trouble as the dense moist center can still produce mold or mildew... but what if I made sure they were no nugs one atop another, that should be the winning solution imo. And if I make the bag large enough and space the buds I probably only need 1 hydrogmeter for the entire cure bag?

@Duggan buckshot told me on Instagram he uses turkey bags

Yup....i used to just use plastic grocery bags inside a brown paper bag....with a couple z's. Inside....roll it up...but leave some air in...check every day until ready...then in the jars they go.

well dabbers here she is... she was doing fine yesterday and today everything got back to square one...

A pic of her a week ago

And the new growth who I think are dying

I have not got rid of the dying leafs because I was advise not to get rid of them...

I understand that she got a branch broken this morning but I don't understand why the 2 lower stems are turning brown(like dying) and why all the new growth stopped growing and look like they are dying 2....

Her ph is out of range by the looks of it. Did it happen after you feeding her nutrients? If so you may be able to water her with normal water and save her

And this is a good thing.
-----------------
Duggs, I think that newer growers like MadDab and myself are using tools of the trade (like hygrometers and B62s) because we don't have anywhere near the experience you do in harvesting and curing. My advice to Dabs is newby to newby because going by feel can be risky until you know what you are feeling for, not having felt hundreds of buds over the years. Like 10,000 hours to mastery. The apprentice is still measuring while the master does it by feel.
-----------------
Them, if you're in gallon jars you might need more than 1 Boveda per jar based on their size/jar ratio. Check their website to see.

I have not given her any nutrients for the past 4-5 days only neutral PH water... So I can't understand how her pH just went skyhigh or rockbottom in lest than 5h (at 7am this morning she was fine at 12:30pm I found her branch broken and everything on the plant changed) without me doing anything at all beside giving her just a little bit of neutral pH water...

I have not changed anything since the accident, beside I stopped shooting mist water on her leafs... still 12/12 light, no added nutrients, same spot outside... same time of direct sunlight... yesterday she was recovering at last from the root damage she got 5 days ago and today after the branch broke it looks like everything went to worst instead of recuperating

It's 1 per 6 or 7 gs. It says on the packet. So I will check.

What do you think about the big seal-a-meal bag to monitor RH more effectively? I feel like it could be a winning option, just a pain to burp and re seal burp and re seal...

I have one more half gallon but the outdoor thermometer/ hydrogmeter takes up a lot of space .. Luckily no other nugs are ready for jars today.

Damn that's not very good. Hope she can recover! It s like she suffered a sudden shock!

Okay 420 family friends and followers.

El choppo is coming along I think? Still a ways to go... but not much further

I was able to jar up some of the first few cuts. Funny to think that they took so long to trim... I feel I'm really getting a good routine now. I snip all the fan leaves to one side and any potential sugar containing leaves into the baking dish to be blasted into shatter.

Okay so here are some pics

I'm not sure how much more I'll be able to get done if any today.

Every time I glance over at Lilly she is like hey look at me.... So after gloria's chopped up I'll unscrew the scrog, raise the lights and slide her over to the chopping block :slide:

I swear it feels like I'll be trimming for weeks, but almost having Gloria down has me seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Idk how arctic does it with that damn forest he has....

I got a Valentine's day card today from the Stank's. What a lovely sentiment. Thanks!!! ... I'll check in over in growing a legend here later tonight.

Hope you all are doing well this splendid Saturday and as always may your plants prosper and buds swell

...

Dabber

Lovely! I got the same scissors though haha

Looks to me like someone poisoned it. A neighbor maybe? Dumped some bleach on it and kicked it? .
