Nothing personal, but that cheap vent from home depot is going start looking really good when you start cutting a hole in the door and fitting that in! ;)

I'm subbed in, looks like you have some awesome people here already to help you along the way.
I've never used anything but soil myself so I'm really interested in learning more about coco.
Thanks for stopping by MsSin! Yeah got a great group so far. Very helpful. Extremely informative. But most importantly supportive and respectful :)
I've really come to appreciate this community! Sun, swag, shed, urb, ghost and I think just about everyone else all have journals running also. We try to keep it fun, upbeat and informitave :)

So I just checked back because I wanted to see how long the girls have been above surface. Gloria is 11 days old today and Abbie is 10 :) I thought it would be a good idea to post their age for each picture update.

The fan arrived today and I was disappointed when I realized it's not oscillating -_- oh well. I suppose it's good to have a couple anywho!

The thermometer was placed in the tub and it seems temps are a little lower than ideal. 72 and the light has been on almost 4 hours. Luckily I bought a timer that I was prepared to return, when I realized it was 120v. So I rigged it to my fruit dehdrator in intervals throughout the day and more often at night.

I will be monitoring the temps as closely as possible in the next 24 hours to dial in the amount of needed extra warmth. And it's not even winter yet :/ ugh.

Well hope everyone is having a good week!

I'm gonna have that same problem here right away. Lights out temps dip to 17-18 Celsius. (63-64F) for my American friends. And I don't have a damn thing to help them stay warm. And it's gonna get worse when they get flipped to flower. Cuz right now the light is the only thing keeping the temps in check. Dabb I have a note book I write everything in. And record the dates. Not sure if that's what u do but yea. Feedings and certain progress points. Just something to keep me busy and maybe help me later on or on next grows.

Yeah I'm gonna jump on that train. Now that things are running more smoothly I should start a notebook, and would have sooner, but had a feeling my other thermometer was off. I literally had a little 12 dollar heater in my cart at the depot yesterday and put it back. I couldn't justify running a 300watt heater :/ that's double my current light lol. I will certianly look into it for winter. I've heard a 5 gallon bucket with a water heater set to 80° f. (Idk what that is celcius) does a great job and uses a reasonable amount of electricity!

It's easy. No need to get into details on the notes. Just mostly for dates. I jot down when I move the light, new nutes measurements and the fim ofcourse. I wonder what other options are out there for temps cuz I'm kinds worried tbh honest. It gets rather cold here. It's normal here for winters to hover in the -20'sF

Ok time for a real update.

Gloria is doing well, despite her burn.

Abbie and her abnormal growth

The Bag seed nice and stout

I finished the vent. Came out smaller than I would have liked so I'm considering making a second :)

Sounds like your as far North as I am swag I'm pretty sure I'm 100 miles sorry 160 km from the attic circle....

So temps have been stable between 72 and 73. I would prefer them a little higher but am happy to know they're staying consistent. I'll probably cut one fan at lights out just in attempt to contain warm air. Well find out in the am how the dehydrator/ heater holds up :)

Until tomorrow.

Thought u put the heater back on the shelf. What u running for a heater now?

It's a dehydrator cheapo from ace I think? For making banana chips and whatnot. But good news temp was up to 75 at lights off. I had it set to come on for 30 mins every other 30 minutes, but thought I may need more, so I let it run 1 hour with a 30 minute break I believe. Also cut a fan. Ideally I'd like it to drop to 70° just before lights on and get up to 75° just before lights out. Time will tell.

What's that drawing for power. All these little space heaters I've seen draw stupid amounts of power compared to my light. Wouldn't make any sense for me to get that. The girls will have to brave the cold some days. I'll have to crank the heater in the morning when I leave then turn it down when I get home.

Yeah I couldn't justify spending more on heat than the everything else. Maybe I should re consider HID for its added heat....

Well it looks like it is 100 watts :/ wouldn't have guess for a second it was that much for an appliance meant to run for 1 to 3 days straight... but still far lower than even the cheapest electric heater. Think I'll look into the oil ran ones. Thanks sun.

Gonna go peek at the girls now

Ok friends. Temps looked awesome! Lights on and we were at 72°. I nixed the idea of the "heater" during the day. Wasting money imo. The light should keep us in range during lights on; especially if I can keep temps at or above 70 during lights out. Totally forgot to turn off the one fan last night. I'll try and dial back the use of the heater at night since it stayed in range with the fan running, and make any other adjustments from there. Humidity hovering between 45 and 50 %

Now on to the update:

Day 12
420-magazine-mobile837274062.jpg

Gloria is really starting to grow. She will get fed here today likely from the bottom. Her top layer has soil mixed in and I know the coco needs to stay moist but I'm worries about mold, mildew and bugs if the top stays too wet.

420-magazine-mobile1345198306.jpg

Her root system is starting to bulk up :) plan on giving them a small taste of the voodoo juice today and again when it's time for transplanting. Most likely 1/4 strength certianly not more.

Day 11
420-magazine-mobile818884538.jpg

And Abbie is getting on fine despite her weird growth. I have a lot of thoughts brewing for her. I may train the mutant side down and let the growth from the far side (healthyside) come up as colas. Time will tell. For now she's growing, and that's all I care!

420-magazine-mobile443253670.jpg

Last but not least. Bag seed. Aka Goldie.(seed was from a strain called goldrush)
She's stout small still but I'm hoping with a taste of VDJ and the warmer weather she'll start to really spread her wings.

Mass builders are out for delivery now. Was hoping to make a depot trip today, but may not make it there until this weekend. I want to look into lowering the light (currently about 50 inches). And planning the PVC frame for the tub, which will be the flower area. I would love to be able to go perpetual asap!

Wishing everyone a very happy Friday and vigorous plant growth ☘✌

Well the temps are up and so are the ladies! They are loving the consistent temps and I'll do us all the favor of not posting pics tomorrow so that Sunday it will be more than evident.

Abbie had a lot higher soil to coco ratio and I noticed some white "fuzz" forming on the top layer of soil. So I treated her with some h202 and h20. Goldie and Gloria got a taste of the voodoo, and I'm hoping the correction of conditions will lead to their transplant early next week.
