TheBlaze's LED & HPS Grow - Coco & Perlite

I think I might've seen that photo... Rings a bell, anyway. I'm a bit of a news junkie.. Listen to news radio cos I hate pop music..
Those lions are the go! Should train a few..
It might be a bit naive, but I thought, with no personal knowledge of the place, that that movie Blood Diamond looked pretty authentic..
"T.I.A". Never know what's gonna happen, so get ready to run.. That would suck.

Pretty full-on, alright.. Not what I was thinking of after all.
All my mates are sick of hearing it; we really have it good here in Aus.. And you don't have to travel far to be shown why..

There goes South Africa from the holiday list... Is the xenophobia directed to other African immigrants or tourists?

Yeah, those pics are a little too hectic for my taste. Can literally ruin your day. 22 years after apartheid ended, and this kind of shit is still happening on a daily basis. Africa always wins.

Other African immigrants. Something about stealing their jobs. It's a fucken joke, but anyway. As we speak, pretoria (one of 3 capitols, so not some rural shithole) is burning due to riots and protests. When shit like this goes down though, which is fairly often, you best believe that no one is safe. That includes tourists.

Fuck yeah, that's bad.. Hope you're in one of those "Gated Community" type of place.. With the armed guards and all..

Yeah, I stay in a gated community. How safe they are, is up for debate though. I will be applying for my gun license in the next month or two.

Hear that! Was gonna ask..

Take care, by the way!!

Take care, by the way!!

Thanks, but don't stress bud. It's bad, but that is more in city centres and townships. There is obviously violent crime in the burbs as well, but that is usually your garden variety murder/robbery.

Thanks CS! Let's hope your prophecy comes true! :thumb:

Damn bud, you have a good grasp of what's going on in this crazy country of ours. I'm impressed!

Lekker is an afrikaans word for cool or awesome. Although it can be used to substitute for other words as well. It loses something in translation.

I'm not a big fan of Die Antwoord, but they're doing well so more power to them.

My favourite at this point in time would probably be the more indica leaning Lemon OG Kush. She is very vigorous and has a beautiful structure. Looks like she might yield well, although it's a bit too early to tell.

I supplement Nutriplex with calmag and EM-prosoil. The EM I will only use 3 times in the entire grow. A week before flipping. 3 weeks after flipping, and the last time when I start flushing. Calmag I use quite frequently. About twice a week.

Here is how I feed, although I change it up sometimes depending on what the plants are telling me:

- Day 1 : feed
- Day 2 : feed
- Day 3 : plain water with calmag

Then I usually let the plants dry out a little for 36 - 48 hours depending on how much they drink. Then I start schedule at day 1 again. I hope that makes sense bud.

Thanks Blaze.:thanks:

Going use that schedule and just add some molasses

Ladies love Molasses:cheertwo:

Well i had some different options from different people. One must understand the Function of Molasses and what it does to your nutrients and soil.

"Could be debated, but if you're on the side of "insignificant amount of chelating" you're gonna have a tough time because all the science and facts are on the other side of it. As a matter of fact it is such a powerful chelating agent that a 10% solution of molasses in water will strip away rust. I could point to dozens of sources that point to the efficacy of molasses as a chelating agent, in which you will find quotes such as "Blackstrap molasses acts as a chelating agent, which means it can convert chemicals in feed, fertilizer, or the soil, into a form that can be taken up by plants and animals. So, you can actually use less fertilizer when you add molasses to your mix." and "Chelates are known for their ability to unlock the potential of fertilizers, and many farmers are successfully using chelating agents, like Molasses, to increase efficiency of their current fertilizer and make dramatic cuts in normal levels of fertilizer application requirements". Also, to say that it doesn't cause frosting or thickening is also a very uninformed and flawed statement, since the frosting and thickening and indeed all plant growth is governed by the Law of the Minimum, which states that "growth is controlled not by the total amount of resources available, but by the scarcest resource (limiting factor)". Thickening and frosting can only happen if all required nutrients are present, and an additive such as molasses which is an extremely abundant source of trace minerals can provide the limiting agent, either by directly containing it or by chelating and making it available, and thusly allow further frosting and thickening. Can you point to ONE that says it is insignificant? Or are you just making stuff up because you don't understand the science?"

This was a debate on a forum on molasses in coco,in my option i feel molasses can only do good.

Why what was your feeling on this/

Did you order EM Prosoil online?

If you're in gauteng you can just get it from gthydro bud.

As for molasses, I don't have much of an opinion on the subject as I don't know much about it. I remember reading somewhere that in coco using chemical nutes it is a bit pointless. From your post above, it would appear to do something similar to the EM-prosoil I use. So you might be on to something. I really don't know. I might try it at some point then and see for myself. For now though, and especially in this grow, I'm going to stick to what I know simply because I might burst into tears if I cock it up. LOL!

Was at GT Hydro today. The shop is super neat i must say they really went out of there way to make it client friendly.

I would also stick to the recipe it works.

That tricks you try on fast flowering auto's where you dont waste to much time experimenting.Trying to get my hands on some auto beans for my first run.

My friend says i'm over analytical when it comes to this but can a man really be?Never a bad idea to run the forgiving and fast flowering auto's for a first run.. Just to get the gang of things
;)

It's a pity I mixed up all my freebies from Bonza, because I would have given you some auto seeds. I have no idea what is what now though.

Thanks Blaze that's very nice of you

Well nothing wrong with growing lucky packets that has true decent genetics.

I must say i am a firm believer in genetics and its exactly that that draws me to this incredible plant or rather one of mother natures Master pieces.

That exodus Kush had the 2 phenos which really showed what genetics can do.Both of them perfect in there own way and traits. But yet different in structure,bY the way this has had me thinking how do you choose your strains?

See you do like choosing the sativa dominant strains have you heard about mandala seeds? Its a couple keeping land-races going they have a strain called satori have a look.:thedoubletake::jawdropper:
