Ding ding ding I’ll hunt with ya Rooster, with that bad hip I might be able to out run ya so bring lots of ammo though ya might need it. If you bring a pistol, file the front site all the way off smooth though ok? That way when you ram that pistol up ur azz at the last minute before Yogie gets to chomp ya it won’t hurt so bad :rofl:

I fuck shit up with a .243 and that's what I would be using. You would call me crazy. I would tell you to watch and learn the power of speed and ballistic tips.

I leave an exit hole the size of a grapefruit lol and it's light and compact and agile. I can pull that thing up in a split second. I'm a lefty and I throw a right handed bolt. I've developed a technique where I keep my eye in the scope and lock the gun in my shoulder holding just the pistol grip with my left hand and I use my right hand to hole the bolt for stability and be able to lock it back and forth. I can dump all 5 in probably 6.5 - 7 seconds. No one in my family can throw a bolt action like me lol it's like a lever to me. I trust that over a semi dude. My first shot is always standard holding the stock and thrn every one after that I grip the bolt and never let it go I just pinch my fingers to the stock when I latch it I pop the shot and lock another one without ever taking my eye off the target. And it works as you can tell. I fear nothing lol I wish I could show you the bull moose I stalked 2 days after I got that bear. I took my phone out and snuck up on him and then jumped him and ran after him down anskid road. I got really close to him haha

Hope that 243 has like a 500 round clip in her, I’ll be sitting back a ways from ya Rooster, I don’t wanna chase your bear away with me pissing myself laffing. We have some gnarly grizzly here that come outta glacier but nothing like a kodiak! Had a 8 foot boar walk me back to my car when I was out huckleberry pickin this summer. Bluff charged twice then full charge, dropped 525 grain chunk of lead at his feet n stopped him in his tracks. The next one was taking his head off.

Mars that’s a scary ass story!! An 8 foot bear of any kind is a very big animal, the amazing power they have, the snapping jaws of a sow with cubs kinda gets ones attention as well :rofl: don’t like those kinda outings much anymore.
 
I'd like to see that those things. They are only on the islands right? I took my hog through Alaska jumped islands up from Prince Rupert. Spent one night watching blacks browns and Griz eating salmon. I never realized how close you could get to them until I started to think that I really had no protection on my bike...ok I'm not to bright but man that country up there is cool. If you see an animal look closer there's probably 15.
Its probably time to revisit after you guys talk and show pics. F I loved my time all through Alaska. Ypu guys are sparkling a bug in me ha! A Kodiak that would be something.

try to ignore the ceiling. My entire upstairs needs to be redone. We did the downstairs. Upstairs is soon. Gotta do a roof this summer. So hopefully by next winter or sooner I'll have a new panel and can run new electric. Gotta pull all the old plaster out. She's sagging. One piece fell down so I cut it square and stuck Sheetrock in it for now but I don't want to do the rest of the room because I need to run electrical and insulation and everything. Want to do it all at once. And then the grows moving anyway. So I'm making due. Don't hate on a brothA
