The Quest For Midnight Sunshine: Dabber Begins Breeding Bodacious Botanicals

Yeah probably over dried. But I'm not really trying to cure the buds just keep em halfway fresh until o van de seed then blast em!

Hope all has been well for you shed buddy. sorry I havent been by your place in a couple days, new schedule, new workplace, lots of adjustments. You get your pops back eating his meds? I'll just cruise by when I can but gotta get the kiddo to daycare. Let's chat soon brother

Sounds like you and I are in a similar spot right now with a lot of changes. Luckily you are in the industry and making things happen and I'm not but changing schedules is tough! I'm making way too good of money to think of getting into the industry right now.

Hmm yeah. They drop sponsorship? I mean I feel like if someone makes a journal title when that company is a sponsor it should stay. Like wtf are they paying for then lol. Idk honestly I dont care. Just sucks that there arent many seed sponsors.... let's just admit it. Free seeds are the best part about contests!

The Mars Hydro lights weren't great but weren't bad either like some of the new light sponsors. I've heard some haven't even delivered their prizes for any contests this year. Last year seemed like a much better year for sponsors and follow through of prizes (which I am glad I won my 3 contests before all this stuff changed). To your point though, the free seeds were like the best part of winning and now you get like 25% off an order or something. It is what it is and anything free is appreciated but I just feel like the contests aren't what they used to be which is sad.

And now!!!!

Dang sir! Really impressed with how that stankberry turned out in that small pot. You did a great job on this gal now pass out the bud samples :passitleft:.

My girlfriend and I just took down 4 CBDreams that are a 1:1 to ratio. I think half will go to massage products for my girlfriend and the other half will be jarred up. I'm excited to use it for a mid day smoke or one to use while I work.
How would you compare CBD massage products to thc? Do you still get pain relief?

I can't see a just CBD being as usfull as a combo THC and CBD

His Harley is a combo so should work well

I'm making some GDP x ACDC oil when I get back from camping in a couple weeks, I'll try and do some lotion as well

I did?

I don't remember that. We used 5-10 grams of Harlequin in with the other strains on this last batch of topicals, but there is a shit ton of THC in there since I used 2 ounces of buds that had a little mold on them. I wouldn't normally use that much but I also had no intention of throwing it away or storing moldy bud. So that batch was very concentrated. Works great!! Instant relief for 2-3 hours with very little oil.

The strain I grew is 1:1 CBD to THC ratio. I think it was something like 12% CBD and 12% THC. This gives an optimal amount of CBD for the medical things (arthritis, inflamation) and it also gives pain relief due to the THC. I haven't made anything yet for just CBD only as I've heard most people want some pain relief when they have that oil used. I think it's a feel good thing though because CBD is doing work no matter what but we live in a society of instant gratification and if you pay extra to have that oil used then you want to feel it. I've talked to many dispensaries and they have told me the 1:1 CBD/THC is where it is at and that is the recipe for success. People come back for that one but most of the time they don't re-buy the others. Usually they have 3-4 different topical lotions at the dispensaries here and they all said the same thing. 3 of them don't really sell and the 1:1 flies off the shelf.

I've had more then one dispensary that told me (when they found out I was making 1:1) to bring them a sample and I informed them that I'm not able to sell it to them and they nodded at me and winked and told me to still bring them a sample. Lol. Also to answer your very first question. You do get some pain relief from CBD but nothing like THC. If you do something repetitive everyday (like typing at a computer) and by friday your hands hurt then I've noticed that using CBD topicals causes them not to hurt by friday. So you might not feel the "feel-good" effect right away from the massage but you'll notice it down the road if you pay attention. My new job requires a lot of physical work so good time for me to be making all of this oil!

As with most things, this is my experience and I don't have a ton experience in these topicals yet. Just like edibles, they effect people differently so someone might have a totally different experience but my experience matches with what is supposed to happen so I feel like I'm on the right track.

LOL! Thanks but that's completely inconclusive :).

Thanks Ase! Everyone seems to like the high THC oils so we were wondering if a 3:1 CBD:THC would have the same or some other effect. With a 12:12 oil you're still packing enough THC to be unclear as to which is having the immediate pain effect, but it's interesting you say that the 1:1 will work over time as well. If I had a high CBD strain I'd give it a go but I haven't had a chance or the need to grow one yet.

I can't really break out of the norm of my growing to use a whole tent for really high CBD plants. Since the girlfriend grew this it kept my stuff normal. If she was growing again I'd maybe try to find some higher CBD strains but these were free and hit the 1:1 mark that most people told me is the best. I'd give a really high CBD one a go too if she was willing to grow again but it's not necessary. She's done with school and will be really busy trying to get her career going so until that smooths out, I probably won't get the chance for a while.

Definitely not an expert on the topicals but this is what I've found and some people in the industry have echoed. Haven't nerded out too much yet on all the science of it so I may be a little off on what I am saying but it made sense to me and I heard the same thing from a couple of sources so it was good enough in my books.

I've been taking 1ml 3 times a day of a 2-1 cbd-thc oil orally and hitting my big pain areas with a high thc topical. I'm walking up and down stairs like they're nothing. But boy miss a day or 2 being out of town and I notice it right away.
My thinking is to orally take care of the inflammation and then with a topical hit the heavy pain areas. Working pretty good for me. And i'm not walking around high all day.

This has been the traditional way of thinking about high CBD strains: with the CBD internally working on inflammation, and then using high THC oil externally as an immediate pain reliever. We're all waiting for Chris to do his experiment now ;).
