The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

HARVEST: DDA5 (Day 70)

When I woke up this morning and delightfully proclaimed my readiness to engage the universe in play, I really wasn't expecting this harvest to be part of the dance. :laughtwo:

She was almost flawless from beginning to end. I'd have been happier with a larger yield - she's not going to hit 3/4 oz, in all likelihood. If she does, I'll be very happy. Aww hell, I'm already so happy it might be illegal. Lol! What's not to love with a harvest this beautiful?

A sight for SweetSue's joyful eyes. :blunt:

The next one in this spot will be with Doc's HB soil kit. I'm looking forward to seeing how that soil feels about this light. :cheesygrinsmiley: A little more than a week to go on that cooking soil.

I have a couple other places to drop pretty pictures. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:ciao:

Side Distractions

You know how you open the tent to simply peek in and say good afternoon, but then you get sucked into a job that takes you into a completely different loop for an hour or so? I laughed at that, bemused at the way this "hobby" can easily chew right through an afternoon, but how does one complain about this much fun? :laughtwo:

Mite patrol came calling with Carn1:4. While I was stripping leaves I was considering the wisdom of Doc's policy of really stripping them back. Here I was, removing all these solar panels when she's already in flowering. It made sense to deplete the energy drain at the same time. She came out looking pretty good, ready for the big dance.

Trimmings, to be fresh-frozen for later addition to some oil. Ooo.... different cannabinoid expression.

What a nice little harvest. Kudos Sue.

Cheers.

Thanks Ditch. Made me real glad I have all these clones flowering away. I swear, I'm gonna learn to grow ahead of myself. On my way to the store for some fresh razors so I can get this cloning started. I need these babies rooted and planted by the 9th.

There ya go.

The Timber Vero will now support the Carnival clone Emerald and the CBD Critical Cure alone. When the soil's done I'll start another DDA or possibly two. :cheesygrinsmiley: They're looking pretty darned good, if I may say so myself.

IMG_371115.JPG

It's so satisfying when it runs smoothly. :laughtwo:

Well, I certainly hope your day was a joyous one. My day was one joyful adventure after another. I stopped making lists that I ignored and went back to winging it. Turns out that works quite well for me. :cheesygrinsmiley: A little gardening, some posting just for fun, more gardening, some time writing. Maybe a walk tossed in for good measure.

I'm liking this free-flowing lifestyle. I think I'm finally catching on. Still haven't figured out how to keep myself fed. :laughtwo: I may need to generate enough cash flow to hire a personal cook. Hmmm...... Once I relocate I might be able to find someone willing to trade a grow for regular family-style meals. Just factor me into the meal plan.

Not a bad idea at that. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Ok. It's time for a righteous buzz before I fall into writing mode. I'll be seeing you around the yards.

I found my perch. When I secure the money stream to pay for it I'll share, and you'll all be soooooo surprised. Lol!

I know..... such a tease. You love me anyway, and you know it. :laughtwo: :battingeyelashes:

Pink is my fav color! So pretty. I wentvto check on my plants last night. Found they were a lil thirsty and then after I watered i decided to start LST on my 2 big girls that I topped last week. Do you think that was enough? Nope I decided to rearrange my tent and lights to make room for the new light I am getting next week! All clean and organized. LOL

:laughtwo: Every once in a while I'll leave a post in the wrong journal or thread, and then I'm lost, trying to find it. They turn up in the strangest places.

Hi Sue, I was considering a tent journal again, I'm about to sex 8 plants and flower them, maybe in the next few days.

Mites! What are you doing to eradicate them? Pulling leaves is not enough and it looks like you just harvested everything past the first two weeks of flower...kill them now!

If these are kit plants and you have a plan/cure then ignore me.

If not, essential oils, neem, big time exterminator, nuke em, sm 90, herb steeps, labs, ewc tea, the key is to alternate and disrupt the egg cycle. Much stronger herbicides are also out there, but I haven't used them. Just be very careful under lights, anything can burn plants.

Love you Sue!

Hello 36. :hugs: I must have just missed you last night. Great points on pest control that can never be expressed often enough.

I'm switching the entire grow over to kit soil, but this problem is kinda apartment-wide at the moment. I have four spaces to grow in and two of them have mites. Pulling leaves has so far kept the numbers down. The trick appears to be to get in there daily and snatch the leaf at the first signs of habitation.

Following the last plant in the flowering tent I let the tent sit for a week while I scrubbed it down numerous times. It took less than a week for new mites to start grazing.

These tiny earthlings evolved for a reason. I'm having a difficult time going all "shock and awe" on these smaller brothers. I don't have any problem relocating growing numbers to the trash heap, and so that's where I've comfortably settled. I've been in conflict with battling them from the beginning. I know, I know, they're the Borg. But I have a difficult time feeling like I have some special priority to planetary space than they do. We can learn to coexist, if only in this gentle garden, where for a time it's not a critical concern that I be pest-free.

Even Doc got mites this past year.

Drenching the Carn2 clones and thinking about how these plants are helping me understand watching the plant better. I'm also considering my gardening approach coming into the next phase, when it all shifts to HB Kit soil. Do I go big, or work in small pots?

I heard that scream of "NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" Duggan. :laughtwo: Not to worry, my inner guide did the same thing. Lol! I heard that message you've been pounding out loud and clear. The kit works better in bigger pots. I have a 15 gallon Geo Pot that may finally see its day in the flowering tent, possibly with two plants in it. That may be my best idea yet.

I can play with my hempy pots. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'll need a lazy Susan under it. Freight Surplus here I come! :laughtwo:

I can't believe it's 12:30 PM and I just had my first brownie half.

IMG_371618.JPG

Lazy stoner my ass. :laughtwo:

Brownie Oil: fine details

Primary to successfully capturing all the goodies by using all of the plant material is the ability to reduce the plant material to fine particulate matter. As Heirloom once commented, you know you're eating plant material but you don't feel like you're chomping on twigs and branches. Lol!

I must admit that the Space Case grinder has become an indispensable tool in my brownie oil making process. It cut my time down from about half and hour by hand to mere minutes with this beautifully efficient tool.

IMG_37429.JPG

Every time I use it I imagine it closer to that moment when it's ready to soak in ethanol, like Tead once did, to remove all those trichome and oil bits still lingering in the cracks. It wasn't until he posted of his adventure that I even started using the grinder. Now I reach for it all the time. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The buds were so beautiful.

IMG_37399.JPG

The brownies will be so........... mind expanding. There ya go. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I sometimes use an electric coffee bean grinder when I do large amounts of material. Chews thru it really fast and easy, but you can't soak it in alcohol when you're done.

That thought was what kept me from using the metal grinder. OMG, I hate losing cannabinoids. Lol!
