The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Sue! You got it goin' on! Great update. I sent away for a DDA because of you! Herbies changed the way they order so I sent cash in the mail...hope it works.

About the humidity...My folks used to keep a small pot of water on the lowest setting on the oven all day on dry days. They thought it helped. Never had a hygrometer, though.

I've been thinking about doing this here. I've also considered pots of boiling water in the tents. Heat concerns me there. I'm going to put some water on in the morning and see if it makes a difference. Me and things unattended on the stove are a dangerous combination. :laughtwo: I'll make certain it's lots of water so I don't burn the pot. Lol!

If i recall correctly it was tead who i saw use a candle warmer with a coffee cup with water in it to boost the rh.

I remember that lexort! I have one. I'll try tomorrow. I'll have to give reps for that memory. :hugs:

I dont want to waste bud so 1/2oz per lb of butter like the recipe says. I decarb it too. Recipe says 30 min at 240 deg, stir and another 30min at 240 deg then let cool and spray with 151 proof. I figured youd know Sue, thanks!!! I hate to waste!
In july-aug I added a good humidifier to my tent in veg and it dident raise the humidity much on the meter but it had to help. At the end of flower their at 25-50% hum. No sign of bud rot.
Great day!!

:hugs: hi SweetSue :hugs:
Looking good , the unhappy one, does she want food?

Yes she does Birdie. Poor thing. I finally heard her and started increasing the nutes. This bottled nutrient approach is still so new I get....... inattentive is the kindest word that came to mind there, so let's go with that. :laughtwo: I looked in on her this morning and she doesn't look any worse. I'll keep going until she finds her sweet spot.

It's difficult for me to have a plant struggling, and this part of the grow is filled with struggling plants. Hmmmm...... That's the first time that thought rose up. Whatever cosmic lesson is going on here........

Awwww hell.... It'll all pan out in the end. We don't necessarily have to make them pretty. The idea is to get them to harvest with something worth the electricity used to grow them isn't it? That I'm gonna accomplish, no problem. Hmmm..... OK, I heard that. Spiritual quest overflow. Stop fighting so hard.

I can learn to do that. I'm having more fun than frustration, and it's getting to be more fun every day. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Good grief, it's after noon and I haven't had coffee or a shower yet. Up all night again.

Good morning everyone.

Let me roll out of this bed and get on with the day. Feel that joy bubbling? Get out there and share it. Light up your corner of the cosmos. I'll be over here blazing away. Ooo.... It's Saturday. Pigeons should have the Wake 'n Bake video up by now. :slide: I'll catch up in a bit. :ciao:

its coco earth liquid coconut premium oil.
says ,contains Lauric Acid.
1.5 x more mct than virgin coconut oil.
is this oil ok to make capsules with

From Authority Nutrition's list of 10 health benefits of coconut oil.:

"Coconut Oil Can Kill Harmful Microorganisms. Almost 50% of the fatty acids in coconut oil is the 12-carbon Lauric Acid. ... Both lauric acid and monolaurin can kill harmful pathogens like bacteria, viruses and fungi."

Lauric acid is found in all coconut oil. I'd be suspect of their claims, but that's incidental. What you have is coconut oil, and very usable for your purposes. Any increase in lauric acid in your product is just a bonus for healing.

Main thing is good harvest :) unless you go for plant of the month :)
I believe all things make a circle, you learn as you grow and when you are "strong" you will have a "test your patience grow".:circle-of-love:

Hahaha! One of the lasting lessons from my grandma,

"Avoid praying for patience. God will see to it that you get plenty of practice."

Something ive learned so far atleast in my case is im not allowed to have pretty green plants lol once i go to flower and the stretch is over they start looking less and less pretty but i have had to accept that because although they may not look the best they still smoke great! Use to drive me nuts looking around seeing everyones plants green and pretty and i just couldn't figure out why mine weren't now i just don't care cause my end product always does the trick.

Thank you, you dear, sweet man. You keep stepping in to reassure me. It's that very thing that's driving me nuts. My first grow spoiled me. Nothing but great genetics, fabulous soil and CFLs everywhere you looked. I think I had over 400watts of CFLs in that tiny closet, and the 4.5 oz I harvested were some of the best I'd smoked up to that point.

It's a hard lesson to learn that sometimes you just need to humble yourself and be thankful that you'll harvest at all. It's not like I have a shortage, or I depend on her for anything, is it? Hmmmm...... I didn't realize I was stressing about that. Haha! Let it go Susan. Lol!

Ahhhhh...... lexort, you're good for my soul. Thank you for sticking it out with me. :hugs:

No biggie sweet sue that's what this site is about! I just figure theres no point stressing over things that we have no control over plus the plants reflect our moods so even more reason not to sweat it. Its hard letting go i struggle with that every day but sometimes you gotta stop take a breath and just think it could always be alot worse then we are thinking it is. Always remember to stop and find the beauty in everything even if it doesn't seem like it at times its there though just all about perspective.

Cannabis and your blood pressure. A cautionary tale.

JimmyJ and I got into a discussion over at Radogast's new High Brix grow about blood pressure and cannabis and decided to play lab rat for a week and track one smoking session a day, taking note of the blood pressure before and after the administration of the dose. We set our own processes. This wasn't meant to be anything more than a cursory look to see if we could discern a pattern.

I went with one reading before and then followed the buzz (six hits on a bong) with readings at 5 minutes, 15 minutes and 30 minutes. My results:

BP Pulse

12/2
Before: 126/85 - 54
5min: 116/79 - 60
15 min: 108/73 - 57
30 min: 126/78 - 57

12/3
Before: 102/82 - 67
5 min: 98/71 - 66
15 min: 104/63 - 64
30 min: 106/62 - 65

12/4
Before: 102/72 - 69
5 min: 102/68 - 61
15 min: 97/72 - 64
30 min: 107/66 - 66 * I was laughing really hard right before this one.

12/5
Before: 109/61 - 59
5 min: 100/68 - 60
10 min: 99/60 - 62
30 min: 92/62 - 64

12/6
Before: 126/69 - 75
5 min: 86/66 - 74
15 min: 86/69 - 75
30 min: 89/62 - 80

12/7
Before: 112/63 - 72
5 min: 84/62 - 85
15 min: 97/78 - 74
30 min: 86/63 - 77

12/8
Before: 93/66 - 74
5min: 90/65 - 76
15 min: 87/68 - 77
30 min: 87/59 - 70

You don't have to look hard to see the drop in blood pressure immediately following the dose. Over time it creeps back up. I couldn't see anything else of notice in my readings, other than the fact that my cardiovascular system appears to be in very good shape. :cheesygrinsmiley:

If my readings are an indicator of normal response it might be smart to wait a couple minutes after that bong hit or vape inhalation before you jump up and run off. :battingeyelashes:

It might be interesting to track a week's worth of brownies. :hmmmm:

Here's a repost of Jimmy's report.

Here are my readings. I recorded 5 days worth. I took 4 bong hits for each test. I was pretty nervous the first day, thinking the worst of what cannabis was going to do to my bp. I think that caused the "white coat" syndrome which made it spike. What I noticed with mine was that it was mostly lower after smoking, but my pulse was consistently higher. I wasn't as precise with my timing as SweetSue but I think this gives a pretty good idea of how my system reacts.

I envy your bp SweetSue, I am on bp meds and still never get readings that low. :thumb:

11/29/16
Before: 6:30pm - 133/84 @76bpm
After: 6:55pm - 151/100 @ 110
After: 7:30pm - 131/76 @ 87

11/30
Before: 6:25pm - 134/82 @72
After: 6:45pm - 130/85 @92
After: 7:00pm - 132/82 @ 98

12/1
Before: 7:45pm - 135/78 @79
After: 8:15pm - 138/83 @91
After: 8:20pm - 126/77 @89

12/2
Before: 7:40pm - 136/82 @74
After: 8:00pm - 133/82 @85
After: 8:10pm - 126/81 @86

12/3
Before: 7:05pm - 132/84 @64
After: 7:30pm - 128/82 @86
After: 7:40pm - 124/78 @87

We will join with readings when I get a battery for the machine to measure. I can say, some weed drops it and/or makes you feel cold. Hands are frozen etc. Some doesn't show any difference.
Both smoke and eatables.
