The plants have started to grow again, even under water only.
Based on my observation the pistols began to look less amber.
As if they are no longer nutrient blocked.
I still have lower buds with white pistols.

Based on these observations this is the plan:
I'll be taking a branch or two of the "mostly done"
so it can be mostly dried for my trip out of town next weekend.
Then put them back on flower nutes for a week or 2 having fixed the mag def.
Rinse again for a week and then take a full harvest.

Hey Bro.

Sounds like a good plan. At this point, you're probably gonna have to work out the harvest the best you can. Clipping the mature stuff will allow you to get some light lower down the plants. It's a good indication that you notice the plants are putting some weight on, and growth has re-started. I'm not 100% positive, but after you clip, it might take a little bit for the plant to start flowering again (finishing), as it takes energy to try and repair the cuts you've made.

Again, it sounds like your plan is good, and at least you'll have some goodies for your trip.

Ok fellas,
Just got back from the garden. Really baked right now BTW.
I took 4 branches/stalks that had all red pistols and all cloudy trichs.
Very few amber trichs in this sample. This should give me enough for my outing on friday.
My brother in law plays in a metal band and I help with setup and teardown and sound guy.
Then another trip out of town for a concert.
I tied everything down such that the light could reach the bottom of almost every branch. I added about 10 gallons of water and 2 more tsp of Epsom Salt.
They have really come alive and started growing again once I added the first run of Epsom Salt.
I added back 50% strength Flora Nova Bloom.
Ph is ~6.5
Growth should take back off for everything over the next couple days.
I'll watch, learn and report.
Oh, why do I see seeds on some of the flowers?
I'm sure I got the two males out on time.......

Hey bro, join the herm club. My first and most recent grow had seeds. Cool you can see them on the outside, most likely, they'll be on the inside also. Don't despair, I've been smoking the stuff now for about a week, and it still is incredible smoke! It just brings me back to my High School days when you WOULD expect to pull seeds from bags. Bullshit they are!

But I wasn't throwing the stuff away, the seeds are a small price to pay.

One of them I pulled out was shaped like a tear drop.
It's really good smoke right now. Should I cut my losses and chop it down? Will the smoke get worse?

So I just cruised through your journal again. The plants were looking fantastic towards the front end of the grow.

You didn't provide a whole bunch of data along the way, so it will be hard to determine where things went "downhill". From the pictures, it looks like about a month ago.

It looks like a bit of stretching, and perhaps not enough light actually. An 1/8th (3.5grams) from a single stalk, doesn't really allow for comparison, since most people weigh their entire plant harvest. You have to keep experimenting with different strains. Did you ever find out what you were growing? And you ended up with 1 single plant this grow?

What's your plans for another go-around? What do you think you'll change/try?

Hey Noatec I'm not sure how many plants you have I just skimmed through your journal (I'll go back and read it through), but if its just the one then even if its a hermie I say let it grow. However if there are more plants you may want to pull it before it turns your others into hermies. As far as the smoke goes hermies have lower percent THC than a pure female because a lot of energy the plant produces is going to the seeds instead of the buds. I hope I helped you answer some questions. I'm still a novice myself, but I also have no life so all I do is study the marvelous cannabis plant all day. Any way good luck on your grow sir. I'm smoking Hermie bud right now as I type this...try to type this...and I can tell you it's no less strong then the female version. We also had some female plants in the bunch (the basis for my comparison).

The only obvious pain-in-the-ass is having to pop out beans from your buds. I hope you don't think I'm debating what you've been told, rather pointing out for your knowledge for future reference.

No problem. There is conflicting information everywhere about cannabis one website says one thing, another says the opposite and even real life experience has taught me some things that were opposite of web info. I mostly blame this info toss up on the U.S. government for illegalizing MJ. If it was legal we would probably have far more accurate information available to us. We can dream. I also think, IMO, that the more seeds are in each bud the less potent it will be. This a theory of course, but I would like to do some research. Did you have a lot of seeds in your buds or one or two?? Thank you for the insight though. peace.
 
What I can tell you right now for certain is a big f****g thumbs up from the band and friends of the band. Who cares what sex it is people like it. That's sounds messed up taken out of contexed. Piece and pot everyone........./,,/

There are more buds without seeds than with. The ones that do have only one or two.

Thanks for the input Farmer. I'll check things out this evening. I have two plants and have noticed no seeds at all on one.

If you are getting pollen from female pollen sacs, aka "bananas", then the seeds will be female. The main thing to look for is yellow banana looking sacs coming right out of the bud flower cluster.

If from hermie... which means the budding plant has a full "set o balls" separate from the buds that open with pollen sacs... then most likely hermie offspring.

I'm starting to see small yellow bananas like the ones I saw on your journal.
So I'f I let it go they will pollinate and create seeds?
I changed the res. back to plain water this evening just in case I need to start chopping.
