The Mega Crop Thread

I'm out in the boonies, in a gold mining district. I'm on a deep, drilled well, and also had the lack-o-water disease until a few weeks ago. The past few months have been no fun at all.
Hence the Arsenic levels I'd wager.

Yes, the areas of the province with gold mines have the problem. It's easy enough to deal with. The RO gets 95% of it. I'm glad I'm not up in Yellowknife. Now there's an arsenic disaster waiting for its time to come.

Jeez. Sorry about it man. Sure hope it shapes up for you soon out there.

There are no leftover ions or salts by the end of the grow?
Not sure where you get your 160 gallon number from as that only works out to 3g/gallon!
When you are on their webpage, hit the pulldown for the amount you are ordering and on the side it tells you how many gallons of mix it makes up.
aminochelates vs salt chelates.... totally different way of doing things... there are no salts or ions to leave behind... the entire chelated molecule goes right up into the plant, and it is broken apart inside of there... and the amino acids left over are also able to be used by the plant. There is no waste.

Just finished this thread and found it super informative. Thanks all. @MrSauga made me a convert early on in my first grow when the nutes the local bud supply shop sold me were not cutting it and despite some self-inflicted issues it has been good for me. Even if these expensive multi-bottle systems gave slightly bigger yields I still don't think it would be worth all the hassle but it would be interesting to see some comparison grows.

I have two remaining problems with MC. It's hard to dissolve the balls, and it falls out of suspension.

i honestly gave up worrying about this aspect.

I mix up 18l at a time which is just shy of 5 gal. I'll try the heat, and coffee grinder for this. I have one sitting around that was used to grind flower before I got the rosin press.

I'll put the long handled spoon from the wine shop in the grow room and give it a stir before serving. This should take care of MC falling out of suspension.

i measure (by g /L), zap in the mic in a small jar of RO, shake, add to rest of the water, and stir.
a big stir spoon is a good idea.

i have mixed it, let it sit for a day, then stirred and fed with no significant change in ppm or amount of precipitate.

can see the grinder as a good idea. would sort of have to do the whole bag for even distribution.
no hope of me inspiring up to that on 10kg bag lol.

I work with the SI system of measurements as well. I post using gm/gal, as that's more easily understood south of the border. Here's the chart I made, for the water volumes I mix:

I add one liter of water at a time to my plants. I stir my bucket each time I take out a liter. I'm not sure why some people find it doesn't separate and others do. Mine always falls out of suspension.
I use soil so my question for the feeding schedule. Are you still on a feed, water, feed, water schedule?
I use soil as well and feed every time. There is a reset or rinse prior to harvest but after that you feed again right up until to down your girls. I've had no reason to F-W-F-W. It's F-F-F-F :meatballs:

Just completed my free order... I'm so excited.
The free sample will convert many...you need a week or 2 to see "the Megacrop Green" that tips me off to who's using it.

NutriBullet NBR-1201 12-Piece High-Speed Blender/Mixer System, Gray (600 Watts)

You might have this stuff already in your kitchen, if not it is available on that major online shopping sight (named after a major rain forest) (price just under 50 bucks)
and you want to use the milling blade to grind.

Very easy project for all of you who have gotten a sample 500gram bag, takes maybe 3 minutes total to do and clean up is easy.

All I did was run my Mega Crop through a kitchen strainer to separate the course from the very fine and just run the course through the blender then recombine with the fine. The actual blending time was for 15 seconds total, and then recombine.

Then rinse off the strainer and rinse out the 2 pieces of the blender cup, the strainer, the pan and done.

Here is a picture of the whole set up, but unfortunately I dont have another 500 grams available to show how to sift the product. But I am sure you guys can figure that part out. :thumb:

Thanks Ima! And I haven't heard TANSTAAFL since I was in college in the late 70s :).

I am a big Heinlein fan, I cant think of a book that I havn't read that was written by him. Lazarus Long was my favorite character, and Sadie Lipschitz ran a close second. It is not too many people who can recognize the reference. I will be 60 this coming summer, so I am guessing we are about the same age.

'Friday' all the way. The only books by RA Heinlein I didn't particularly care for were released after his death.
