Hi Everyone, hope you are all nicely medicated.

Just a quick update.
As you all know I've had a bit of a pest issue, so I threw out the moby and the blueberry, to try and get this issue under control. I've been checking the NL and AG twice a day and I'm finding 1 to 2 thrip larvae per plant, so they are definitely getting less prevalent.
I'm just dabbing them off the leaves with cotton and honey.
I'm pretty relieved, as the Moby had 4 or 5 per leaf..

Here is the last picture of the Moby

They AG and NL got flipped a few days ago. They seem extremely happy and healthy, so I'm pleased

Your AG looks great, well they both do! Why does well always become we'll

They are alive, so I'm buzzing  I've thrown out 3 plants this year and killed 4 seedlings last year. So I'm getting better
You're amazing! It's what you do with the ones that live that count and they are loved!

If these last 8 or 10 weeks I will post a picture of my bare bum.
This is the time I go "oooooh, let's add some flower power boosters and disregard what the instructions say, more is better"
Oh, the funky flame colours are off the bioethanol I used to get the fire started. I wish I could describe the smell of them burning. It was like being in a sealed room with a thousand bongs being lit.

LOL :rip: burn larvaes and bugs!

Oi Pual! Flipperino happened :bravo:
But I recognize NL has some starting Magnesium deficiency! As you flipped them I’d suggest you to feed them epsom or other source of Magnesium before bud set starts. Mg def will hurt the yields… I’m talking here about my own experience. I saw the deficiency after the stretch and that was a bit too late, since it might take a while to show up.

Sorry for the late reply mate. I didn't see the notification.
You noticed the mag deficiency too. I had just give it a booster shot of calmag after I took the photo. So hopefully all is well.
How bad was your deficiency? Have you got any photos, just so I have something to work with?
So I know how bad is bad.

I wouldn’t recommend fixing Mg def only with Cal/Mag. Adding calmag you just increase both Calcium and Magnesium plus prob some Nitrogen nitrates.
Ca and Mg having antagonism together and more Ca can make the deficiency even worse.
Epsom salt or other Magnesium in sulfate form would be the best quick cure.

It can take quite while for Mg def to show up. Like from 2 to 4 weeks before it shows up on the foliage.

I guess mine was suffering Mg def during the veg and it showed up during the pre-flower/stretch phase when even more Mg were needed.

Mine show up like this. Prob because I had fed a lot of N, so it didn’t look like the most classic one with chlorotic leaves having green veins.

And proceeded:

And these were mostly just the uppest leaves, closest to the lamp which had to transpire the most.
I also tried to fix it adding more Cal/Mag and felt like more calcium only increased the spread of the deficiency.

Oh and make sure your soil pH is 6.5 or above. If its lower than 6, Magnesium gets locked out. and dumping the whole bottle of epsom wouldnt fix it

Thanks for that mate, I appreciate the input.
Luckily all is good on my side now. I little dribble of cal Mag has fixed it.

Hi Everyone, hope all is well with you lot.

Just a little update.
I've got on top of the thrip issue, by dabbing them off, no chemicals required. If any of you are wondering what thrip damage looks like, here it is.

I've cranked the @Mars Hydro FC-E4800 up to 100% and the temperatures are perfect, its keeping the tent at a steady 27°C
DSC_0018.JPG

The driver isn't even getting hot, it's warm to the touch. Unlike that last thing I had, where I had to butcher the light to remove the drivers as they were scorchio.
Even if you did want to take the driver off this light, it is super simple. No tools required, it's a brilliant design.

Anyway, I'm miles behind on all your growings on as I'm busy ripping the kitchen out. I will definitely catch up though this week.

Here's a few random shots to finish

Looks wonderful in there my Mars friend

Don't let up, the plants are looking great squig. You can't even tell they had thrips.
I think you can get that light down to 16" or so if you're willing to try.
The PPFD map seems to suggest lower but take it slow.
Looking forward to seeing some flowers.
