The Living Medicine Cabinet

Hey bro! Your girls are looking healthy and vigorous as all hell, keep up your great work man :) Hope all is well with you and your family. Peace brother :Namaste:

Same to you brother.

All is fine in my world. Everything is on the up and up, and I have some tasty crop growing. I could ask for more, but I'm ok for now. :)

Hows everything all the way out there? I have a client in Australia im temporarily helping out for a coworker...she doesn't answer her emails and with time difference it starts to get annoying. I keep thinking ill get Night to knock on her door and tell her to "answer her damn emails!"

As long as all is fine then all is well :) Being grateful is much better than being resentful for not having more, I just recently went through this LOL.

Great out this way mate, awesome weather and some decent street smoke going around until our girls are done so pretty happy. Also going from poor as shit to much much more financially stable is awesome for not stressing out :thumb: Hmmmm could you explain more in what you mean by helping her out please? Maybe in a PM? I could be able to help her depending on her location and situation but if I could speak to her and maybe help her? I'm in for sure :thumb:

Glad to hear you are doing well!

I was just joking. I was overseeing some work for her because a coworker who would have been doing it is swamped. I just need her to answer her emails! Usually she is responsive but at the most critical times not even a peep... I wouldn't actually suggest anyone go knock on her door. Just sometimes I wish I could reach out and touch some of these people.

Day 35 of Flower Update

Its getting a wee bit fatter in the cabinet these days...

I did a tea drench yesterday. FINALLY! Same tea as usual. One of my friends is having alot of success with the Key to Life brand...they have a good general organic nute blend that is derived mainly from Kelp I might have to purchase for more robust teas....but just stocking up on Yum Yum mix sounds attractive too :)

But I am a little worried that c99 seems to not want to stop losing leaves in the center of the scrog, or rather her lower canopy. I can't quite figure it out. I think maybe she is too large for the container...or a nitrogen deficiency?

WP_20151019_19_29_08_Pro.jpg

I'm also thinking I should add more light. While I want to buy one of the smaller old series 300w Mars Hydro lights, it may be easier and cheaper for me to just a couple CFL's in the under canopy. At least for now...but I am still interested in getting that second LED panel...for $70 and 300watts more its a hard deal to beat.

Here's an example, but obviously I would need a smaller reflector.

Most certainly getting a little frosty in here too. Thanks for reading.

Hmmmm i think you may have it right by thinking its not enough light getting to those lower bud sites. Those CFL's would do the job perfect imo here's another idea off the top of my head. If you could get a small flat light panel in between the plants lying on top of the rim of the 2 pots obviously facing upwards could/would you do it? Is it possible? Would the light be sufficient enough to penetrate up through the canopy? Sorry that's just off the top of my head but its another possibility :) Great looking girls otherwise :cheertwo::goodjob::Namaste:

It would be a little tricky to get the light between the pots at this point. But what I was thinking was that I could move the light every couple days or so to each corner. I more worried about c99 not having enough because she is so spread out. Afgooey is pretty chunky because all of her buds are directly under the led panel so if I cant get her as much light I wont be too worried. If I can get the front and back right corners lit up so c99 plumps up ill be good me thinks.

how about just snipping off a few fan leaves that are blocking light, I usually snip away all fan leaves that are causing light blockage. Just thoughts.

Stooping by to say high bro. Getting chunky for sure.
Great job man.
Happy daze.

Hey man! I'll be over there shortly to check out whats going on with you. :)

I will be trimming a few of the Afgooey leaves because they are blocking bud sites. But I don't believe in defoliation all that much. Maybe lower canopy leaves that don't serve much of a purpose. Plus, C99 wont stop loosing leaves...I'm a bit worried about it.

Most of the problem is that all the larger buds are on the edge of the screen so they aren't getting adequate light. The buds right below are thick and frosty. The ones on the edge...not so much. For this grow I don't know if I will be getting that second panel, but I am for sure going to be adding some additional light. Hopefully I can remember to go to lowes tomorrow to pick up a small reflector that will still fit 2 bulbs.

I'm going to jump in the cab for a minute and tie up some flowers so they get a bit more even light in the mean time.

So I wanted to announce the next three strains...haha or rather the three I am 90% I am going to grow as I move away from scrog temporarily and try my hand at flowering from seed.

Oriental Express (Reg) - Ace Seeds

Snow Leopard (Reg) - Bodhi Seeds

Blue Cheese (fem) - Big Buddha [75% sure about this one]

Blue cheese- Barney's farm is an excellent smoke. My bro grew it & caned me every time.
Must give this one a go myself sometime :)

Im a little wary of Barneys with all the stories I have heard of hermies and just under whelming strains. But alot of people here have grown their pineapple chunk made it sounds pretty good.

I'll probably get on here later today or tomorrow so I'll just post some photos for now...

But I will say this...this yellow leaf issue has got to stop! I am fairly certain now its just a nitrogen deficiency. I have been drenching with kelp and fish fert - both decent sources of nitrogen - and nothing has stopped it from spreading on C99. I'm going to go to the Hydro store today and see if they can recommend me a high nitrogen source that will clear this up.

I got a smaller reflector and have had it pointed at the underside of C99. I have a single red spectrum bulb in there because the small reflector would not fit the y-splitter for two bulbs. Still, I'm getting a bit more light where I want it. The 300watt Mars Hydro panel is looking better every day. After I buy my new seeds that might be my next purchase.

Getting a bit peeved here. My last grow had very deep green leaves on both my plants...I don't know if this is an issue with the soil I mixed or if c99 is just very sensitive to nutes. Remember how I burned the shit out of her with that CoCo water? Two things to keep in mind...easy on the Potassium and heavy on the Nitrogen when I grow her in the future...oh ya..and she probably loves calcium.

edit: and forgot this maintenance note. I topdressed with my some kelp meal and my hotter soil mix. I will be running out to get more RO today so I will water and see if that helps in a few days.

Guys, im a little ashamed to admit this but I just picked up a bottle of MagiCal by Technaflora. The guys at the Hydro Store prescribed that as being really the only quick way to resolve the deficiency. They deduced that it is probably very likely a mag deficiency and not as likely to be Nitrogen in flower. That is something that was floating around in my head - that it wouldn't be Nitrogen this late into flower. But just based on how the leaves were dropping it didnt seem like a Mag or Cal issue...

Lesson learned...I'm going to be adding more azomite to my soil blend. Minerals = healthy vibrant soil which = healthy robust plants.

This is just an emergency measure that I will use sparingly.

I've heard about here that under LED lights most plants need a little more Cal/Mag and also if you use R/O water you also need to add a bit more Cal/Mag to the mix. Hopefully you are close enough to the finish line. All the buds still look like they are doing well. All my buds are set and are starting to through out lots of hairs, maybe an update in the next few days since the fun has started.

all the best

Ya I have heard that too, but I have never found good reasoning behind why LEDs would cause a cal/mag deficiency. Still, its a possibility.

I suspect I will need another 3 weeks or so on the Cindy. Afgooey looks like its about to start hitting that point where it wants fatten up for the final stage of flower. But both of them are still putting out pistils with only a few orange hairs here and there. I suspect 3-4 weeks is still a safe estimate.

Id love to see an update for your girls! :)
