The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

(Pause, Puff, Puff, Pass) we can share. I'm already stoned.

The tent is getting ready to undergo another change. I'm transplanting everything into 7 gallon minimum, including three 10 gallons pots, so a look at the interior would be worthless right now.

:passitleft: That was a lot of helpful information. I meant to ask today if it was safe to bend her over, because I started to do so two days in a row. Sounds like I should (puff) ....... start to listen to my instincts again, eh? (Puff, Pass) I wasn't sure if it was safe to start playing around with a plant already into flowering.

Think I'll break out the bonsai wire and see how she likes that. Might be less stressful than Velcro. :passitleft:

More light. I've been considering the wisdom of two more of the Mars Hydro 100x3, one to hang and one in reserve. Need to look into that tomorrow. Lighting has to be completely reconfigured again. LOL! All about change here it seems. :laughtwo: Part of my down time tomorrow is going to be a casual look at redesigning the tent. Geez, I should write a book someday on living with chaos. :laughtwo:

:passitleft: Nice to share. Thanks for speaking up and saying what needed said. :hugs:

Hi Sue... You can get the 60x5w (300W) old school M-H lights off of Cramazon for $70 and that included shipping.... I got one of them for a fill in in my 4' tent and I can't believe what an awesome light it is.... Sara from M-H said they were selling for less than they can make them until these are gone because of some deal they had with Amazon but it might be worth you checking out and they are great little lights especially for the money.....:circle-of-love:

This may fly in the face of your plans, but for your next grow, I'd:
Not run autos, or if you do, not under 12/12 or 11/13. 18/6 no matter what you grow.
Don't SWICK.
Keep CFLs or T-8s pratically on top of the plants.
Up-can twice if you are going to work in larger pots.
When LSTing (at any age), I bend a little and hold it with whatever. Later, or the next day, bend a little more. Rinse and repeat to get the shape and effect you want. I found you can make a full 360 degree circle, if you want to. It just takes time.
Do all your topping, training, LSTing, SCing well before bloom.
Just my HO. Consider the source since most of my grow experience was back in the 70's.
Actually, I'm not feeling bad about your current grow. It will do fine by you I'm sure.

The walk was good. The hot shower hydro therapy that followed even better. I actually sat down in an empty parking lot and spent a good five minutes crying those wracking tears you can't really let go around anyone else because they worry about you, but it just got to be too much. The rest of the walk was up and down, lots of tears, but still moving forward.

There's a sweet labyrinth at the far end of my walk that takes me a good twenty minutes to walk. I always start out too rushed and end up wishing it wasn't over so soon. I fall into this delicious introspective pace, being careful to always avoid a sense of plodding. Reaching the center I take the time to align myself to the four directions and then head back out through the switchbacks.

As I head back towards home my head is clearer, the grief has been nicely compartmentalized for now, and I can think about the grow and what direction I want to take.

I'd forgotten how important it was to my well being to have this movement every day. It's not really a fitness walk, just a time of movement and appreciation of the beauty of living along a major river.

Irony: after the discussion on breakfast yesterday, it's 12:10 and I haven't even been in the kitchen yet today. Hopeless. :cheesygrinsmiley: Let me at least grab a Greek yogurt. :laughtwo:

Ditto Shawnee! I've been living like that nearly my whole adult life. When I say "no-one's opinions matter" I mean opinions of me.

Will all that fit in the tent?

I spent the first part of my life worrying so about what other thought... then poof one day I woke up and realized what a joke that was.... I ran in circles trying to make everyone happy and the only thing it did was make me miserable... and honestly it was like a light went off one day... and other than my fella and my God... I honestly could not care less any more and it was like lifting a 1000 lb weight off my shoulders.... Life has it's struggles any way you look at it but without them we would not be the people we are today and the strength of character is built on tribulation... Sue your strengths are inspiring and may God bless you in everything you face in your future endeavors... I have no doubt your Dale would be very proud of you.....:circle-of-love:

Cheers Duggan!

Appreciate you explaining that to me. I'm by no means an expert by any stretch of the definition. Your patients and professionalism to take the time and share you knowledge is admirable.

Hats off Duggan!

P420...Thankyou. I try not to come off as a "know it all" kind of grower...cuz I don't. What I like to see though is newbie growers or one's with little experience learning from those of us who've been doing things a long time ,that's all. I will continue to try and do this gently as to not upset anyone. I also promise to keep my mouth shut if I'm not 110% sure of what I'm saying. However, when I feel the need to help ...I will jump right in and do so. I also practice this with my electrical knowledge....I will NOT let someone make an electrical mistake while I'm here....so any Q's. regarding that ....lets have em..OK.
I'm presently helping out one of our Gang with a complete GR electrical set up that involves a 60 amp . sub panel and re-working of branch circuits for lighting etc. This is all being done thru PMing each other with NO problems whatsoever. Cheers Gang ,and have an AWESOME weekend!:circle-of-love:

I like autos, so there will probably always be one or two around. One of the major advantages of 11/13 or 12/12 is only needing one space.

Don't SWICK.

My LOS thrives on a SWICK. The tray side of the grow, where I'm mimicking Ziggy, will have a SWICK for the close only.

Keep CFLs or T-8s pratically on top of the plants.

Couldn't agree more.

Up-can twice if you are going to work in larger pots.

Absolutely.

This should have been done weeks ago. My first inclination when I opened the tent was to uproot it all. My Cheese Candy lucked out.

Just my HO. Consider the source since most of my grow experience was back in the 70's.
Actually, I'm not feeling bad about your current grow. It will do fine by you I'm sure.

Thank you for the vote of confidence.

Done!

Sorry about the strong advice to "LST the shit out of" your Cheese Candy. That said, she will bounce back just fine. Remember that you have a handful of plants right behind her, so her harvest IMPO is more symbolic than imperative to the final harvest this round.

When I cry, which I do on occasion, I think of it as a flush: Get all of the unwanted thoughts and emotions out to make room for the good ones. It's still unimaginable to me how you're dealing with life so well at this point. Your strength is a true inspiration to us all.

Hugs:hugs::hugs::hugs:

The 100x3s are finally sold out, unfortunately. The listing is now a different panel using 5 watts chips, 60x5 @ 130 watts draw instead of 180 watts for the 100x3.

:hugs: We'll just hold on a few minutes, ok?..................................................................................better

It wasn't your advice that sent that into motion. It went much deeper than that, I'm afraid.

I looked in the tent just now and her top is already almost completely flipped up and reaching for the light. We're all going to pretend some big, clumsy creature brushed up against her and kinked her by accident. Watch - she'll explode in growth! Hahaha!

Anything I get from this cycle is bonus. I'm not counting this as my first HB run. We will forever after refer to this as my "practice HB run" agreed? Something this effective deserves a better presentation. We'll restart, this time without the drama of death, why not?

Now, a pleasant stroll to Lowe's to get some reflectors and adapters for the CFLs. But first... Where's that pipe?..... Ahh, there it is.

Graytail, it made me glad I grabbed one of those when you told me about them. I picked up one of these anyway, because it's still a decent price. Do you think maybe one more, if only to keep in reserve?

LOL, my advice is Whoa. :cheesygrinsmiley: There'll be plenty of opportunity to buy more lights. LED shopping is a tad addictive, ain' it?

I was there already. :battingeyelashes: I just needed one more hole filled, so this will do it for now. Save the money for other things. It's easy to get caught by the shiny. :laughtwo:

"Step away from the cart!" LOL!

Thanks? :cheesygrinsmiley:

I guess I needed a hole filled too. Just picked up two of these little buggers. Not sure what I'll use them for, but once I'm back indoors I bet I find a use for them. Maybe a new veg area. Maybe for auxillary bloom light.

Wow! Just woke up. Somewhere along the line you'd think I'd catch up. Staying up until 4 AM couldn't have anything to do with it, eh?

Let me get to the store. Later guys. :battingeyelashes:

Their window of opportunity passed long ago too Duggan. They weren't in my face when grief and exasperation smashed into each other and I lost my patience with her. Thank goodness for them. I won't be doing any messing with them at all. Just drenches and foliars and more light. They're like little lost children, sad little things. I'll do my best with them, but I'll lose no sleep over them regardless.

I have clones like that. One year old and runty little things, so I cloned the clones and I'm tossing them in the sides of the flower room as I have the space.
