The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Jarring It Up: Afghani #2

Not my best, not my worst. It's hard to get disappointed in an ounce you don't need to buy. I've already tried at least two grams of this, so I'm figuring an ounce.

I'm good. Let me try some out with the vaporizer, since I have it all set to go. :battingeyelashes: I'm saving smoke reports on this batch for when I get back and it's been curing for a while. The daughter's not happy with having to be involved with "your weed!" .....ahhhh.... The blessings of children. She asked what would be the consequence of her slacking off. I informed her it was a risk to the entire harvest. She sighed and relented. I can see this may take some insistent phone calls.

All ready to go.

Buckets are all ready. The brownie is kicking in. "Dark Side of the Moon" playing in my head.

LET'S DO THIS!

Morning Susan! Harvests in the air everywhere!! How exciting?

I'll stop by in a few I've gotta head over to the coffe shop for a warm wake up drink! Catch you around, Love!

Are the lunatics running thru your halls?
Do you need to rest your bones beside the fire?
Perhaps you should lock the door and throw away the key.

Luv me some Pink Floyd.
Shine on you crazy diamond!

Made me chortle with glee to find you here sharing this with me Tead. You already have me laughing. :laughtwo:

Good morning. :hugs: :kisstwo:

And Good Morning everyone.

I just started washing Carnival. It took one and a half passes around the Dark Side of The Moon to get her trimmed properly. This will be my last harvest for a while, and I'm enjoying every moment. I wanted to share this.

elegant improvisation

Budwashing has its own rhythm, one that changes tempo for the individual partner, if the cultivator is of a mind to really care, I suppose, but I can't do it any other way. It's one of those ways I honor the plant for the gift she offers me. Cut her clean and quick as you whisper your thanks, trim her with dignity, wash her in a way that befits her and her alone, hang her with space to dry properly.

You swish, drain, dip into the next bucket and repeat. I was working the first branch and thought "I wish I had some way to hang this over the last bucket while I start the next branch....." when I spotted the stalk.

Wasn't that beautiful? A flash of inspiration and a sweet morning hug out to Duggan. :hugs:  These crafty pipe cleaners have turned out to be the best way to hang my harvest I've found to date. I like the way some of you - Canna and HealingKronic spring most quickly to mind - hang the branches over hangers. That's possibly the easiest way I've seen done. I never have enough branch to do that. These pipe cleaners are a quick any easy solution for tighter branches.

Back to the harvest. Later. :ciao:

That had the potential to go dark there. Working away, Joni Mitchell's The Hissing Of Summer Lawns beating a jungle rhythm in my blood, dipping and swirling. I have a mantra - love, faith, hope, peace, joy - I know I must have mentioned it here before. I try to make every part of my life resonate with those tones and what better way to do that's than to use them as a counting element? It's worked wonderfully well, as you can witness. I simply chant each element five times. There are five of them. That means once through is 25, repeat until you hit the count you need. Very adaptable. I like to finish the wash with one more resonance of each at the end - a simple "love, faith, hope, peace, joy" as I lift up out of the water in a flourish of joyful passion.

I'm not making this stuff up guys. It occurs to me that Dale was a special cut of man to live so easily with all this passion running loose. :laughtwo:

Didn't I start out talking about dark? Hahaha! Well, there I was, working away, happily proving I was capable of pulling it off. I was feeling so comfortable and confident when it suddenly occurred to me how far I'd come in the past six months.

Grief came at me hard from my right side. I could see it coming. Like slow motion. So I moved. I went directly to YouTube and pulled up Dad Life, followed it up with Walk Off The Earth's rendition of Happy (arguably the best take on this obnoxious song - they made it happy :laughtwo: ) and from there it's all OK. I left links to the WOTE fun on my Spot. Good laughs.

No way was I going to let anything interfere with the joy of Ultimate Harvest. :battingeyelashes:

Back I go. I need coffee.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go...

Have fun with the harvest, Sue. I said I'd be back later, unfortunately not on the day I said and not for as long as I'd like, but it's great to read that you're in "high" spirits and pulling down what can hopefully be called a "haul". If I don't see you in December's NOTM or POTM contests, then you better expect me to come knockin' on your virtual door with an imaginary camera to take some stunning photos to capture the hearts and minds of the 420 members.

Anyway, I'm off to take some photos for work and do some much needed holiday shopping. Until next time, may the brix be with you. :Namaste:

All the other fussing life demands in a morning, I finally got Carnival hung to dry.

Wow Sue! Sure is sweet in here. This is just plain pretty right here...

Bob

Thanks Doc. :battingeyelashes: I keep looking at her and thinking how one might look after being grown in some decent root space and under great lights. If my soil can pull this kind of color out of that tiny plot I can only imagine.........
