The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Yaystoner thoughts: you've been warned! :laughtwo:

image1507.jpeg

Let's start off on topic to justify my presence here. :battingeyelashes: I'm giving drenches today to the few plants that didn't get hit yesterday because they were still a bit too damp. Both the Bag Seed - incidentally, so heavy with top bud that I need to stake or tie her up :yahoo: - and Thunderpaws #2 needed TransWater drenches.

The tiny pots need to be treated a bit differently, I'm learning. They need to be kept more moist than larger pots, in that they can't be allowed to dry past a certain point that won't be noticeable until it's too late. So you have to develop a "language" with your plants. I "feel" that they're ready, regardless of pot weight or leaf droop. I've been practicing this more with the LOS pots and they show a noticeably happier demeanor as they get older, where the Kit girls get tired looking. So I'm shifting that focus to include the Kit girls. I'll hit them with more frequent drenches, a bit more diluted. Just a bit, 'cause I go a little light anyway.

As I'm working Billie Holiday pops up on the playlist singing "Come Rain or Come Shine". Well damn, there goes a whole cascade of Sativa-driven emotions! :laughtwo: I've been thinking a lot about the Art of Loving Unconditionally (it gives me a thrill just to write that. I love these brownies! :battingeyelashes: ) and that has sent me into thinking about how easily Dale and I pulled off a marriage of two improbably matched personalities facing unbelievable social, financial and medical odds. That man and I loved and laughed with passion right up to the last moment of consciousness. I know, I was there. :laughtwo:

Way back in the beginning, when I asked this man I barely knew to stay with me and grow old with me (he'd never have asked on his own - we both knew and acknowledged as much) we sat and talked about what we meant by unconditional loving. It set the stage for 35 years of joy instead of the hell that last 20 fighting non-stop to keep him alive could have been. We figured there wasn't anything life could throw at us that holding on to each other without blame couldn't overcome. It worked. Once I learned he wasn't going to leave it got appreciably easier.

My favorite part of this song is the second verse.

"You're gonna love me like nobody's loved me come rain or come shine.
Happy together, unhappy together, and won't it be fine? (Sung with a laugh, 'cause we all know :laughtwo:)
Days may be cloudy or sunny. We're in or we're out of the money.
But I'll love you always, I'm with you rain or shine."

We certainly weathered our share of the rain. We got to be pretty good about making our own sunshine. Dale always said that was me. He underestimated his influence over me.

I warned you. I get intense when I indulge. Oh well, back to work.

"I'm gonna love you......"

Beautiful day here along the Mon. Fill yours with joy. You can do it. I have absolute faith in you. :hugs:

I love a simple solution. A bit of string with a slip knot, a clothes pin and voila', she's standing straight again. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

image1514.jpeg

Incidentally, she's 15" tall at day 87.

Time to close it up for a while and let it all cook.

image34453.jpg

You guys know this is addictive don't you? Were you fully aware of that when you started? I can tell you my answer is a resounding "NO!!!" Not that I've any complaints. It likely saved me from destroying myself after Dale died and I get ........ All I could come up with was a dance and laughter, so I guess it's easily identified as joy, isn't it? :yahoo:

Oh yeah, and the growing part is addictive. There's that. :laughtwo:

Unknown Seed (Day 67)

I'm just fascinated by this plant. Growing the cutest buds, like little incense cones along the thin lines of the branches. And the colors. And the smell!!! Mmmmm........

image1477.jpeg

No real fade going on yet, thank goodness. All the color you see in the pistils is just coloration. I'd really want there to come a point when I have to support those branches before she's through, know what I mean? :laughtwo:

Looking good Sue! :thumb:

Is this the one that we had a good laugh over during her training?

Yes it is UncleCannabis. :laughtwo: She's enjoying the unfettered life and rewarding me with chains of buds growing along those outstretched arms.

Thunderpaws #2 (Day 41)

After her drench I suddenly decided to trim the burnt leaf edges so I didn't have to look at the damage. Before I knew it I'd cleaned up the underneath.

image34450.jpg

Then I did some tucking.

image34451.jpg

Then she got tucked back into her tiny perch.

Jamaican Dream is a good smoke!!!:thumb:

Thanks for the heads up. It came very highly recommended by Graytail, who made the growing of it so enticingly beautiful as to be irresistible to me. :laughtwo: At this early stage I can certainly understand why he enjoyed growing the strain. She just wants to please.

Here she is when I found her this morning.

image1443.jpeg

I decided that rather than raise the lights again I'd force a little more tucking to get some of the leaders down. Work on getting the canopy under control, since I rushed her into here.

Took her from looking like this.....

.....to this

Let's see how it looks tomorrow. I get more light bulbs tomorrow, so the wattage in the tent will increase appreciably. Time to turn it up a notch and grow some serious trichomes. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Next batch of brownies are in the oven. This pan took everything except a couple grams of the AJHxAA. You see which one I hung on to, don't you? Great smoke, this little home-brewed seed. I was informed by the cultivator that shared them with me that all of the seeds were feminized, so the ones I separated out suspecting males are potential future harvests.

Color me happy. :battingeyelashes: Great smoke. One of my favorites that I've grown so far. I'm so happy to have another growing in the tent.

Next pan will be all Strawberry Blue. I've been weighing her daily to see when she stops dropping water weight. She started out at 36 grams sopping wet. Today she topped out at 13 grams. Very close to ready to jar.

Hoping For Females

The Thunderpaws are beginning to set pistils, and I got in there for a good inspection. I'm happy to say that it appears I have lucked out with two females. I'll keep a very close eye on them, but indicators are good. Here's the best shots I got today.

The interior growth of this plant is extraordinary. I'm really enjoying growing these two. I can't wait to smoke them. Be good to me babies. Be female. :battingeyelashes:

image34465.jpg

Man, does it smell good in here. The initial sweet layering of the decarbing Sativa mix topped with the combo of brownies and the baked potato in there for my favorite meal of baked potato, coleslaw and gravy. Mmmmmm.....comfort food all around for SweetSue.

Life is very sweet. :green_heart:

Yes it is UncleCannabis. :laughtwo: She's enjoying the unfettered life and rewarding me with chains of buds growing along those outstretched arms.

The resistance training has had it's desired effect. What big muscles she has!
With those big muscles and hairs sticking out everywhere, she looks like she's ready to try out for the Russian Women's Olympic Weight Lifting Team. :)

am back with internet major changes in grow doing a update

And here I had my hopes up that I'd get to show you something new Sue! Oh well I am sure it's only because you're meant to get a double harvest on those Thunderpaws. They are looking great! I can't wait to see what you get out of them :)

I checked closely again this morning and all indicators are still for both to be female. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Have a great day Growlow.

Good Morning everyone. :battingeyelashes:

Greetings from my happy brood.

image1544.jpeg

Jamaican Dream is even easier to train than Carnival was. We start out raising the lights just a notch.....

image1545.jpeg

...... then I start tucking.....

image1546.jpeg

image1547.jpeg

image1548.jpeg

...... until we end up here.

image1549.jpeg

So eager to please. :blunt:

Morning Love!

Things are looking marvelous. Had to take a look back and get a bit caught up. But the training is coming along beautifully. Amazing how much space can be saved by a few minutes of tucking eh? And the girls love it! Every time they bounce back more stunning than the last. Reminds me of my dog chasing his ball. Every time he comes back for more with a little more excitment.

Did you DIY those CFL reflectors or purchase them? I think it's time I take action on all my wasted light.

Good morning Dear. :hugs: I'm a few pages back on your speedy journal as well Pigeons.

I followed Graytail's lead and instructions on the lights. I have their construction covered in this journal.

The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Talk to Atrain about his set-up. I believe he uses them too, or did way back when we all started.

Have a wonderful day. I'll stop by your yard later. Your positive energy is such a pleasure to experience. I'm on my way to pick up medical records and drop them off with the lawyers so they can make their final determination. I feel just a bit frazzled. Being this close to his death, knowing I'm going to have to go through it again at some point today....... Not my favorite thing these days, you know?

Awesome thanks! I've been on a major "clean up mission" I've got too much going on to have 5 regular seeds on the go too. So might have to send some to the hash bag **shucks :slide:**

Take today slow and at your own pace, ok? You knew this visit was inevitable. Rather then going through "it" again, how about today we celebrate? Today is a day for you to laugh and love and think about him lots. It's ok. I'm not judging. I love you. Use this as an opportunity to put the rest of life aside for a moment and celebrate.

Love you sweety, don't forget, Pigeons is routing for you :battingeyelashes::dreamy::winkyface::Love:
