The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

its the stuff that you don't see that should really worry you.. :)

Every time I do bud washing I wonder about the stuff you don't see and that makes me more determined to continue the practice.

Little harvest in the morning. Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia is coming down. A little bud washing of my own. WooHoo!!!

Daily Update: Perpetual Tent - Week 10, Day 5

Let's start with the important stuff -

Harvest: Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia- Day 63

This is one of the smallest harvests I've done so far. What I denied her in stature and bulk she's going to make up for in potency. I won't be weighing her. Quite frankly, as soon as she's dry enough, she'll be smoked right up and enjoyed. This was a survival mode run. We will forever after speak of this unfortunate time as "SweetSue's HB Kinda' Test Run" agreed?

I didn't bother with 5 gallon buckets for this wash, but pulled together some basins instead. I've had my hands in the wash water three times now and I have a feel for what the first wash should look and feel like, so I winged it.

This was my cleanest wash to date. I should have snapped a picture of the first wash. No gnats, no dander, no dirt to speak of. I believe we call that part of "environmental control" :laughtwo:

image28556.jpg

If you zoom in here you can see she's completely coated with trichomes. :slide:

Not there yet, but improving. Don't worry guys, I'll get this root growing thing.

Hanging to dry in the hallway.

Now let's check on everyone else.

The seedlings in the tent. So far only Strawberry Blue and Auto Jack Herer are up. Buddha Tahoe OG is just now pushing up through the soil surface and should be up by the time I get back home from a meeting in town.

The seedlings in the Tiny Closet.

Look who decided to make an entrance today! Good morning little Carnival!

Back into the tent.

Auto Destroyer has taken a serious attitude on me. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's poor root structure. See? I am learning. You can believe I will do everything in my power to keep from having this repeat itself again.

image28567.jpg

African Buzz (Day 64) has a bit of an attitude this morning too. WTH??? I gave them both a spray of DeStress.

Cheese Candy (Day 65) still purring away contentedly in her corner, getting fatter, frostier and more fragrant with each day.

So begins the end of this particular cycle. I can't tell you what a relief it is to get this cycle to its end run. There were moments guys. *sigh*

We have a picture perfect Burgh day in the making here. Harvest, even one as meager as this one, puts me into the most loving frame of mind. I never take the sacrifice of the plant lightly and take time to thank her for working so hard to offer me quality meds, regardless of their limited quantity. We all know it's not about quantity anyway, don't we?

Have a wonderful day in your little corner of paradise. Get out there and spread the joy around. Life is a much better experience when you leave that positive energy behind you as you pass through. I'll do my best over here. :laughtwo: :green_heart:

:Namaste:

G'Morning Sue and congrats on your harvest. I'm gonna' have to look into that bud washing thing someday.

Look into it sooner than "someday" UncleCannabis, like the next time you harvest. I guarantee you won't regret it. It takes so little time and has such benefit to the end product.

Your post has jogged my memory about the things that I've found in bags of bud over the years. Pieces of string, tape, animal hair, human hair, etc, not to mention the things that were certainly there but never noticed.

You're correct. It seems as though I need to get with the program and get myself educated about this bud washing thing of yours.
I'm anal about the cleanliness of my garden but it appears that I've definitely been slacking in the produce cleansing dept.

There are many examples of the process on the forum. Let me save you the time looking. Pigeons420 did an excellent tutorial on his yesterday. Enjoy.

Hahaha! There you are again Highpotanoose! They only let me give you rep points once a day. :laughtwo:

I follow roughly 40 journals a day, mostly of people who use my kit. If someone needs help, I chime in. Mostly I "like" posts where other people are helping out, etc.

I also keep 3 journals of my own going, not to mention a full-time practice and a growing High Brix fertilizer business.

I think I do a pretty good job keeping up with it all. I type fast.
Indeed...

Hey guys. Don't mean to be a nuisance......

BUT IM GETTING MARRIED TODAY!!:theband::woohoo::slide:

Love you guys! Wish you could all be there!

 MUAH!!!
Congratulations Pigeons! Wish the two of you all the happiness in the world.

I know about loss, my son died a month before his 11th birthday. Hardest time in my life but I couldn't neglect my other responsibilities. I grieved my loss but still have anger toward the hospital that screwed up. I'm sorry for your loss of your husband as well.

My point this is my second journal I've read that had great first grow results without doing a lot to the plant and using cfl's the whole time. Now I see both second journals switch to LED's and the plants don't look as good as the first grow. I don't know maybe throw a plant into the closet and run it under cfls and see what you get.
Wow! Not even 11. I know that has to be a rough one to this day Cruizer.

In my opinion, the difference between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grow with most new growers including myself is the 1st run is usually basic and ends up with decent plants that could be better. The 2nd run is when we work on improving our strategy; some ideas work out while others don't. By the 3rd run it's pretty much fine tuning what works for that individual grower. So in all essence each run is like another step in the right direction, it's a process. But with all the support here a lot of 420 members seem to skip the first two runs and blow it out of the water on their first attempt.

LOL just admit it guys we are all addicted to GROWING:thumb: ........:circle-of-love:
If we weren't we wouldn't be here and if we weren't before joining we are now...

Congrats on the chop Sue and good luck with the Auto Destroyer.

think I goofed
Pammy_After_Groom.jpg

cut off all the huge fan leaves

How?

so cutting fan leaves is ok i was told that is what feeds the plant

There's mixed opinions about defol. Some consider it a good practice as it helps with light penetration and airflow while others shone upon it because it momentarily stunts growth. I'm for it.

Thanks BAR. I think I'll enjoy this one emensely. My previous harvests from LOS, following the bud wash the hanging plants don't have a lot of smell. This one has the entire apartment perfumed already, and it's only been a few hours. Mmmmmmm. An indicator of better days ahead. :battingeyelashes:

I'm for it, too.

Too much water isn't always a good thing.

From the looks of it, your Auto Destroyer and African Buzz might be showing signs of over-watering. The leaves will curl downward yet still be firm. It usually happens with small plants in big pots though I notice slight signs of it after soaking my plants in the veg cabinet.

P.S. I also just wanted to stop by and say, "Hi! I hope you're having a splendiful day."

Why thank you MysterySeeds. :battingeyelashes: it's turnng out to be quite a splendid day at that.

Next up to the plate ....... In LOS, Buddha Tahoe OG.

Another look in on Carnival. Good, adjusting well. :slide: It's not obvious at all how excited I am is it? :laughtwo:
