The Hempire Strikes Back!

Are ya cookin 'em? You do normally change out the water they're in... yes?

Im confused by what you mean by changing the water out. They in peat pellets in a dome with vents closed.

How long have they been in there Lex? Normally they will straighten up after half a day or so. Are you keeping them sprayed and the media wet?

They been in the dome for roughly 24hrs i am only freaking cause i never saw any of my clones do this before. I didnt think you were suppose to sptay the cuttings i only thought you were suppose to spray the tray and dome so thats what i been doing. Peat pellets are still wet. I will go take pictures.

Here's what im dealing with. Ive never seen this happen before any other time ive taken clones. I don't think im cooking em i actually have better temps going in there now. Closest light source to them is about roughly 15-25inches away.

I think im screwing up pretty bad just when i thought sally was getting better she starts looking like she has mg def and her leaves are curling down. This ph crap sure is discouraging. I just can't get it right and im going a little nuts with all the research I am doing. I hope she doesn't die before i can fix this.

If the PH thing is that big of a problem maybe you should consider a soiless medium such as coco coir, or peat, promix, sunshine#4, ect... I once ran clones of same plant, same size, same age, already rooted in rockwool cubes. Dropped one into 5 gallon DWC, and the other into straight promix HP. Fed them the same nutes. Its basically like what you've got- soiless. inert. Has no nutes of its own. Fed with Botanicare grow, bloom and a few others....but bottom line. The DWC clone grew just a little bit slower due to PH issues and heat issues of the DWC res water. Cool water holds more dissolved oxygen and helps prevent root rot. But the promix clone grew very fast and vigorous! I was very impressed. Without the stress of living in an environment with the wrong PH (DWC) the clones in the soiless seemed to thrive, much more so than the DWC wich has to be monitered always! Soiless buffers the PH in the root zone. I was very happy with the results. So much so that I Ran the next two runs in pure Pro-mix HP and added all nutes. Worked fine for many runs. Years in fact. But now Im trying to keep it as simple as possible and grow in soil with everything in it, and worm teas, AACT Teas. R/o water and teas, maybe a lil top dress here and there, as needed. Works for me, simple as hell. Just my 2 cents.

I guess maybe it's time to put a magnifying glass to your ph actions.

So... meter calibrated?
What are your exact processes for adjusting PH?

Sometimes I lull myself into believing that my ph meter is fine when I haven't actually checked it over as well as I should.
I always store the meter with the tip wet. Storage solution is made for that purpose but almost any solution is better than letting it dry out. If it stays dry for too long it will screw up eventually.
All probes are really only good for a year or so it seems before they start getting weird- which is also what the manufacturers generally admit, I think. You might get one that lasts longer. But there's a limit.
I calibrate mine with ph7 solution, then ph 4. (Not all meters are set up for that).
It's worthwhile to adjust the ph of your nute mix - test it, then let it sit for an hour or overnight and test it again to see if it's changed. Mine doesn't seem to change overnight -though I went through a period where I was convinced it was.
I haven't found soilless to be very good buffering against wonky ph and I've had lots of ph problems in the past as you guys know.

While I appreciate your input i do however have to say i already have grown in peat moss based mix and i had more issues in it then I currently do. Im not really wanting to go down that road again.

Just calibrated my ph meter again it was spot on. My process for adjusting ph is obviously flawed because my nutes were reading 6.5 just now and i had thought i ph'd to 6.2 and i apparently was wrong lol. I mix up a batch of nutes let it settle for about 15-20 mins then check the ph then i typically have to ph up because at first it reads really low usually around 4.something then i wait another 15-20 mins and check it again and if i did it right the first go round it reads around 6.1-6.2 so thats what I do. Im glad i got you guys around to make me triple check stuff otherwise i doubt i would have realized my ph was higher then i thought.
