Lex I was looking at the difference between Tead's plants before and after the sexy new lights, and wondering how many watts per square foot you are running.
If the calculator i found to help is right then its 3.5 sqft roughly soooo....... I have 235w of leds in a flowering box that is 3.5 sqft roughly. And that is literally all i can fit in there without heat and space issues. Im pretty sure the light is a little too close thus why my girls look rough lol.
Words like these cause me to appreciate every bit of my current ~10sqft.
So, that's almost 70w/sqft. That seems really good... and the plants are so close to the lights.
An elegant design for your size restricted world. Do you commonly dream of huge grow spaces? I sure do.
The things i could do with 10sqft even........ Lol.
Ive always found with 2L's that if ya want wide girls they are gonna suffer, where 2L's have their strength is with Christmas tree shaped girls and the amount of them you can put in a relatively small space. Though you may be leaving 2L's behind your still sticking with the concept just bigger lol. Those girls look great and sure seem to be digging their hempy pvc pots!HA! I bet. It's always a matter of perspective, isn't it?
I'm about to gain more headroom and may grow out of the 2Ls. Shame... I've sure spent a lot of time drinkin Pepsi for grow pots. I'm kind of imagining a grow room full of the PVC pots I made... they seem a balance between a wider regular pot and the skinny 2L format. Of course, if I grow taller plants, they'll be wider too... so.... meh! We'll see what shakes out in the coming days.
Here are my 6" PVC pots in action. The PVC itself is a bit pricey, but scrap can be had here and there. Cutting them straight is a challenge. Sealing the bottom must be done with marine sealant.... could use regular PVC glue if I popped for the plugs made to fit.
I feel like I'm pushing the edges of root bound with the 2Ls, so the PVC tubes could be a real fit for me.

That's cool as hell bud! I use to work with that pvc all the time for water well construction, we d have hundreds of cut off pieces like those kickn around, new I should have saved them for something special.... there are caps available for that pipe but to the tune of $40 bones (cdn) and u have to use glue and primer for a proper fusion, so yea a little pricey but I love what you did! That thinner walled green sewer pipe is significantly cheaper if you wanna bring costs down. We d use a sawzall with a long blade to cut a flat cut, it actually turned into a competition to see who could cut the flattest cut lol, its tougher then you d think ehh?! I was always interested in a horizontal hydro setup using that 6" pipe.
Ha ha I always use the election signs for stuff. I regard them as a rather ugly seasonal crop that grows in the ditches once in a while. They never seem to bother taking them down after the elections so I take that job on and gather a little harvest of 1/8" galvanized wire, coroplast, and plywood.
When I have to mark pipe to cut it I use a sheet of paper and fold it around to mark it square.
