The Hash Club

blonde-moroccan3c.jpg

A nice 7 g cut from a slab of Habibi Moroccan Hash. It's hard & prone to crumble. Very smooth smoke with a lush feel good hash effect. Does not have a hard narcotic hit like a premium Afghani, just a wonderful glow that let's you still function. A premium smoke & not cheap as prices continue to rise on imports. $17 gram.

This is a club I want to belong to.

So as for memories, yea; growing up on the Island outside NYC, in my teens late sixties and early seventies; saw some nice hashish. I can't recall the names or put much faith in whatever it was called being true, but boy, had some amazing blond; good black and so-so red. Always preferred hashish over flowers.

Now that I'm growing I've been pretty much doing the same as 4Dutchess; saving the top colas and maybe some of the other fatter buds and all the other flowers go to making kief. All I do is let the flowers I'm gonna use for this dry a few days or so longer than I would before jarring and just break up all the buds, moving over a screen and left with gorgeous blonde kief. I tried pressing it but don't much care for those cheap hand-held gizmos that produce pellets. I've got my eye on a 4-ton press when I'm feeling richer one day as I'd love to be able to apply enough pressure to fuse the trichs together better and get close to a hashish product.

I store in a jar as you can see below and use a boveda to keep it fresh and who knows; maybe even promote some cure.

I've also done the above with nicely long term cured flowers and prefer that end result. Just seems to be smoother and tastier; but it's all a balance of space and resources. I happened to yield way more than I could use last year so have a nice surplus I can get tasty cured kief from.

Cheers,

Zafu

You can press it with a hot knife in a parchment paper.

In Spain it's much better, cause they're drowning in it, so you'll also be able to score a very good quality culero, but in Italy it's mostly low to mid-grade brick at best, that's available commercially.

I picked up 2 grams from a club in Madrid last spring. 1 was from Jack Herer & was so strong I had to treat it with considerable caution. The other was from Mexican/Thai hybrid & it was so racy that smoking it was like having 5 cups of Spanish cafe. Both quite good enough for me, though maybe not quite as good as the Moroccan I'd had on prior trips.

Never had bad hash in any of my 4 trips to the Iberian Peninsula. Nice to see the clubs taking hold, even if they're a little spendier (with registration) than the street.

Yeah but that's only Maroccan hash too in Spain

The club I went to last spring in Madrid had 6 kinds of hash, none Moroccan & both that I had were quite fine.

But my exp on past trips was that the only thing avail. on the street was all Moroccan...blond &/or black.

Curing hash using bovedas, is a great way to mouldy hashish. Period.

Or, you could of said "Hey Zafu, know you've only been growing a few years. While Boveda packs may be great with flowers, careful with kief/hashish; can promote mold".

Anyway, if that's the case, I certainly don't want to do that; but since the only thing this boveda pack does is keep the humidity at 62%, not sure why that would be the case with kief and not flowers.

Cheers,

Zafu

I keep checking back to see if anyone knows the answer to what skunkworkz suggests. I have the 62% boveda in with my kief for the same reasons I have stored my flowers with it. Is this a mistake; in that the kief and/or hashish will get moldy?

Thank you kindly.

Zafu

Except, I don't have any idea who you are or your history as a grower. There was a question posed, & I answered it as succinctly as possible. My brevity wasn't rude, it's simply how I am.
So yes, Boveda 62s are for flowers, only. Not kief, not hash. Flowers. And tbh, Boveda packs are only so-so, and only for specific scenarios.

My apologies for any misunderstanding. I didn't realize you were responding to another post and not the one I made where I explained that. Thank you for saying something. Sort of opposite what my common sense thought; you know, if it's good for flowers with Trichs all over them, why not just Trichs. I'll remove the packs from my Kief jars.

Peace,

Zafu

I just finished reading Marijuana Horticulture Fundamentals by K. I will post a review shortly. He has a great hash making chapter. He says in Afghanistan they cure for up to 2 years in airy, cool, dark & dry places. Elsewhere he recommends tightly wrapping in cellophane & putting it in the freezer for long term storage. So from that . . . 62% humidity is too high imho.

Single-strain, full melt ice water hashish. Curing in cedar humidor after being micro-planed, dried, re-rolled. Started in July, just now getting reallyfuckinggood

I've only just discovered this thread. Oh my I'm glad I did! I have ambitions to make more hash as I go forward growing (have made a very little ice hash in the past). Just getting started doing it on my own property, mostly outdoors (3-4plants per season hopefully). This year is a bit experimental with grow sites and next year I definitely want to have one plant be dedicated to hash making. Hoping to make some screens later in the season (early feb).

Just had to pop up & say hi, subbing in and, Skunkworkz, hell dude, that's nice looking hash. Yum. Would you mind catching me up on what the plant was, indoor/outdoor, grow medium and hash creation method?

Hi and thanks! .
That hash is from about 20kg wet, frozen, HQ trim.
Chemdog. Coco, hydroponics. Indoors.
Hash: Ice water. 20 gallon bags (220/160/73/25)
Also, washing machine/5 gallon 220u pyramid bags.

This thread has completed my conviction on growing Lebanese next yr, partially for hash. Had been researching the strain & was intrigued by its fairly high CBD/THC ratio (for a stony strain), but now I'm a lock.

Just picked up some seeds. Wish I could mention the vendor, but from what I gather, the mods are rather tight about mentioning non-advertisers (which just sorta makes me inclined to avoid them, frankly).

I just infused olive oil with it. Expect CBD rich genotypes here. I got two gals and both were CBD dominant.
