The seed thing is fantastic!
It's a south wall so there is a lot of light in the day time. At night the room is significantly darker which is good for me.

I'm interested in seeing how the 7% CBD one turns out. I don't think I have seen a strain with 7% before.

Yeah hope it turns out real mellow and pain relieving... wish it was ready now! 
I have some Barney's CBD Lemon Potion Auto seeds that are supposed to be 8% THC and 15% CBD. I'm waiting for next spring to drop them so they can get the most sunlight. In the winter I feel like I'm not going to grow the best version of the plant.
Great info retrix. And beautiful room. And that power strip is awesome.

You know, I have to admit that I found this thing by mistake. Me being the curious about all things electronic type, I am frequently going through different ideas in my head and hitting google to see what sticks. This particular night I was thinking of how I could control my timers remotely. So, I google remote timers and nothing about remote timers. However something else interesting popped up. Smart plugs. Little plugs that you can plug into outlets around the house, connect them to your wifi, and boom, suddenly the possibilities open up.However this would not help me. I needed a power-strip, not a plug. So I then googled " smart power strip" and the rest is history. After doing a fair amount of research, with horrible tales of functions not working, to crappy control software, I settled on this one. The price of admission at 80 bucks isn't cheap, however that depends on who you ask I guess. For me, it made its case on the remote programmable scheduling alone. And that may be impressive enough in itself, but the Kasa Smart will control all 6 outlets. Individually. I could program complex fan schedules using multiple fans to create different breeze patterns for example. Or how about a complex lighting schedule phasing in bluer colors in the morning, and fading more to reds in the evening like it happens in nature?
interesting stuff for sure.
The Kasa Smart is controlled through an app that can be downloaded from either the Android Store or Apple's App Store which is a negative to me because I would like to control the power strips functions from my desk.
But with that being said, at least in my case, the mobile app control does offer the convenience of being able to manipulate any of it's outlets and their functions from any where so long as you have an internet connection.
I guess a good example would be this:
Lets say you went out of town the last week of veg and forgot to flip your plants before you left. Now you can just pull out your phone, open the kasa app, and change your schedules and toss the phone down like a boss. I guess.
For me, though, I feel a little uncomfortable with having timing schedules broadcast over the internet, even if it is my own well secured network. But who knows, maybe I'm just being old. After all it could just as easily be a fish tank lighting schedule.
Well enough gum bumping. LOL
Let's start setting up the tent.
I set up the tent and pulled it out to install a 6 foot extension cord as the power strip isn't long enough to reach the floor.
I placed zip ties on the back support bar of the tent.
I removed the power strip from the box. It feels like it is more than just a power strip. The case is heavy and shiny. There are buttons above each outlet and a big round led light on the face. I'm praying there will be an option to turn them off in the app. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Unfortunately, due to the layout of my tent inlets, I had to mount the Kasa Smart upside down.

I went to the google play store, searched for Kasa Home and hit the install button. After about 50 seconds and with the open app button displayed I proceeded and followed the simple directions. First, I was prompted to set up an account, which I did with a knock off generic email address.
Once that was completed, I selected the confirm button and the app asked me to set up my device by selecting it from a drop down list in the app. It was easy enough as Kasa only has a few devices and exactly one WiFi power strip. I selected it and the app directed me to turn the power strip on, and wait while it located the device.
I did so and stood mesmerized as the round led lit up to a pulsing orange glow, then alternating orange and green, to finally solid green. Then the app asked me which WiFi connection to connect to, and log in with my password. After which, the Kasa led switched to a white glow, along with a white led for each outlet power button. I neglected to take any pictures of the connection light show unfortunately.
My heart sank because now my tent looks like the Star-ship Enterprise.

There is no way I can have this thing lit up like that due to the dark cycle. I went into the app and searched under settings. No option to disable the LED's. "Why would they have an option to turn off the LED's on a power strip?" I thought. Most people probably don't even care about that. I just kept thinking about how i'm going to have to mess up this nice looking device by covering all of the lights with tape.

Thank goodness. I can easily cover this one light up with a small piece of white electrical tape preserving to aesthetics of the device. I guess they really did think of everything.
Now that I have had a chance to go through the app, I noticed that there are quite a few options to control things with this. There is a scheduling section so that I can set on off times on a 7 day schedule. Next to it is a timer button. With this you could set up a water pump on outlet 2 for example. Then if you are away from home, you could set a timer to turn on outlet 2 for say, 5 minutes to water your plants then automatically shut off after five minutes. Next there is a section to schedule events in the future. You could for example, set an outlet connected to a dosing pump to turn on 6 weeks from now to add flowering nutes. That's stupid, but if you were so inclined you could do it.
And then the last tab is for energy, which if clicked, will show you the power consumption statistics for each outlet individually, and will even show how many watts a particular device is using. I do like all of these features and trust me, I will be using damn near all of them, especially for remote watering, however, the one that interests me the most is the scheduling function. This device replaces all of my timers with the app. No more digging through the tent trying to dig the timers out so I can reprogram them for the switch. Now I can do it from my desk, without disturbing the plants, or my sanity. Plus as a bonus, I don't have to add a switch to my light. I can turn it on or off anytime with just a click in the app.
The app also controls multiple plugs and power strips so if I want to expand it in the future I can by just adding the additional strip in the app. This would work well for someone with a huge grow room with multiple lights and fans. Just keep in mind though that this strip does 15 amps max. After that you would need to add another power strip. My setup is well under that however.
Over the next day or so, I will get the rest of this tent built because there's a baby on the way.

Amazing find on that power strip and great walk-through of the setup and features. Turning off the LEDs? Must have been a grower on the dev team
