Superbness! :thumb:

BTW: Lens is back a day early!!!!! and it's cloudy outside

No conflicting shadows :)

Is that a fixed lens, this favoured one that has just returned?
You know one thing I've noticed about either jpegs or uploading is it changes the picture. I don't understand why the picture looks one way before upload then the same pitcture is different after. Oh well, nothings perfect most certainly me and my pictures... You'll note in the first picture the Orca is actually black and blue not black and white
I notice changes too. I remember posting about it way back when the new site software landed - mostly assumed its the upload ‘compression’/file conversion. Annoying sometimes.
don't know for sure, but I do have a bit of experience with this sort of thing, and I'd bet the website resizes your photos with a server side image editor, which lacks bicubic resampling and any of the colorspace features that you're used to. I'd bet if you resize your photos yourself to no larger than 1280x1280, so the server doesn't have to resize them, they'll look better when uploaded. Just an 'educated' guess, but worth a shot.
Interesting. It makes sense that the resize conversion won’t be as sophisticated as good photo software. I remember aiming to do this early on after the upgrade (resizing my own images) and even they seemed to change a bit, so I gave it up. Less time spent for me.

I noticed the ‘white on the orca too Age - partly because you mentioned the blacks and whites in your post and partly becasue I had a photo lesson yesterday and have some study material on ‘dynamic range’... timing :)

I'd love a Northern Light's clone! If it's anything like your other clones I'll probably have to add on an addition to my house to fit it, but it'll be worth it.

Thanks!

Tid-Bits man Tid-Bits!!! :nomo: :adore: :thanks:

Other than the fact that orcas are black and white IRL, the pic on my screen looks black and blue-gray. I'm on a 22" LED monitor if that helps.

I'm with you there...part of my problem!

Foxtailing can be a result of light or heat stress (rather than just genetics), but if your plant isn't showing any other signs of those then no one would have mentioned it.

LOL!

What I meant was on screen it appears blue and white on the computer, my bad, I was sober when I wrote that... I have an Apple 27" iMac :laughtwo:

I knew you'd get that one, it's the cloner perspective. I like to save my seeds too.

I wasn't suggesting anybodies responsibility other than my own, I'd just never heard talk of fox-tailing when I posted the pics. Maybe my enthusiasm about the subject matter was whelming!

:passitleft:

I love foxtailing. :laughtwo: I get excited when it happens. Lol! I remember @Graytail once expressing the same appreciation for those delicious flower bits that’d fill the bowl with such little effort. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I can’t speak to the photo issue. I haven’t noticed any problems, but then I may not be paying close enough attention to the finer details.

Hey Sue!!! Great to hear from you! Where you lounging about these days?

Funny you mention Graytail unless you saw our exchange at Amy's, then it's well placed reference!

I do have an eye for details, but I do smoke weed so there's that too.

Hey Amy, I wasn't sayin you never came round here and I'm glad you did!!!!! I was just wondering about the timing of your lighting comment that's all. Symbiosis or Serendipity or Synergy... ahhh never mind:rofl::laugh::rofl::laugh::rofl::laugh: :love:

Yeah I'm so stoked on growing right now!

I like shadows, just not in my tent or around my plants!

My Lens that has returned is not a 50mm (hint hint). It is however an EF 24-135 4L IS USM. I'm not saying I don't have a 50mm, I'm just sayin that's not the one that came home. In my searches I did find some nice 50's used/ refurbed that I might like to shoot with. What do you shoot with Amy?

Glad I'm not the only one, but I will be following Dr's orders and try that. CM's pics look fantastic and his colors are next level too. I'm guessing the Dr is spot on!
:ganjamon:

HDR? ah yes HDR, IMO it makes the pictures to surreal and the best way to use those filters/ slider bars; less is more. I can figure out contrast by maxing the filter but i don't process my pictures to that extreme. Well, not unless I'm tryin to be artsy! I was talking about he coloring of the Orca in the pic, it was off. The 'ORCA RAFT' is B&W IRL.

:passitleft:

SO on your beautiful Mac monitor the Orca white is actually white, that’s what you’re saying, yeah?

Might have to ask CM if he resizes at all. I have a memory that he doesn’t, that he lets the site software do it, but I might be mis-remembering that.

Damn! I learn to be better at photography just standing here listening! o_O

Whew! ..... thanks.... :passitleft:

LOL! Another one of those words that really isn't a word on its own (at least not anymore), like "nerved" :).

Whelmed.

Nerved. The past tense of nerving, or preparing, yourself for a situation.

Sit-chew-ay- SHOWNNN!

No No. I actuality meant the raft is black and white, but in the picture it's blue and white.

Anything I can do to help Sue! Yes, steep the buds for more coco flavor. Yes, that was easier...

Impressive! way to come up with another example! :nerd-with-glasses:

Nerved.

Agemon, looking great the plants, lol the poor pool shark, buds are nice and resinous :thumb::snowboating::yahoo:

I'm surprised I haven't seen you around... the pool shark doesn't live here, he never did, but the buds are nice and the atmosphere relaxing! What's that you say about a shark of another color...?

Me too. Not sure exactly how I noticed or what. I shoulda figured it was the resizing.
coulda woulda shoulda,

Not often but I do think about those 3, C, W & S!

For fun, I resized this picture, not sure I see the difference ATM, So my question/thought becomes. I didnt re size it but cropped it. 1280x1280. ah ha.....
...........I have nothing but iPhoto on this laptop. I have some graphic programs somewhere on old drives. :nomo:

my auto diesel flower top cropped to 1280x1280.

ISO 100, f4, 1/320

Try f14 with and more time. I'll be shopping and resizing some pics real soon.

Sure, but I bet that looks just as tasty at 640x640!
I'm gonna post a few different conversions and let y'all be the judges.

No pics just yet, but I was doing some reading up on heat and the best strains for it. @conradino23 mentioned cultivars over at Amy's place. I did a quick search and found the info I was looking for. Number One, Sometimes you just get lucky, I chose the RQS #2 strain recommended for growing in the heat. Northern Lights!!!! And they even have the appx harvest time listed September!!! I've been looking everywhere for that tid-bit, but Dope Seeds didn't have the outdoor harvest time listed. Lastly I went out to spray the plants this morning (Flying Skull ~ Nuke'em) and noticed the NL's nodal spacing on top is looking more compact, I'm thinking there may be pistils soon. If I'm gonna harvest in September that girl better start showing soon!!!!

I guess that's what I'll be taking pics of later. I think I'll try a side by side of the two lenses I mentioned with varying f#'s and then compare. Stick around the day is young!

Stay Baked!

For local growing I’d also check for local cultivars... those plants cuts or seeds that always do well... but obviously real hash plants will do well... my buddy used to grow The Pure Kush but also a lot of NL based genetics: Aurora Indica, MK Ultra, LA Confidential, GDP and Grape Ape.

Hope that helps :passitleft:

Top Notch Info! Now I'll have to go through my seeds and see exactly what I got! MK Ultra... How do you not grow that one!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

:thanks:

Looks to me that NL of yours is going to treat you well at harvest time. Maybe a pound of bud. If I remember right, you got her in the ground a little late, so more veg time is probably a good thing. My NL is taking its as well. Showed preflower more than a couple weeks ago, but just now getting into flower mode. It's about 3 weeks behind my WW. I'm estimating an early October harvest.

I'm gonna go along with your ideas, you've got more experience outside than I do. I've been feeding the Berry Bomb runt every few days, early flower week 1 feed. I've been mixing 1.5 gallon bottles and giving bout a half gallon to the berry bomb in the milk crate, the I dump the rest on the NL. She's loving it, I just tied her up today. Got a bunch of bamboo sticks and went to work with the Bonsai wire. I like using the bamboo and bonsai wire, feels like a little slice of Japan in my back yard...

I had a trim oil brownie about 3 hours ago, I didn't think I'd be this high, I forgot about my regular two gel cap morning dose, so I figure I've had round 50 milligrams today. I don't know I just make the stuff off rough numbers and assume higher %'s are being extracted.

I haven't been hitting the bong until later and later each day. Trying to save the lungs a bit more and dial in my edibles.

Pics soon

I got some pics for y'all and I can confirm that immediately after upload I noticed a difference between the pictures before and after. It is what it is.

Now for the Lens comparison. I found it difficult, with exception of a slight variance in color, to tell the difference between the two. The first two pictures are fairly squared and make for a nice comparison. One of the pics however was shot at 1/50 of a sec so it may be a bit fuzzy. Look in the descriptions for the lens, exposure, ISO.

It's been cloudy and thundering the past coupla day. We had some lightning yesterday and me n Dave cut our frisbee session short. I saw a 3 bolt strike behind him as he was throwing. A few seconds later I could hear the water sizzling as the thunder rolled over head, it gave me chills, BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!

I added in the bamboo sticks and made ringlets from Bonsai wire. I tied the larger branches in a couple different spots to give them extra support. I tied the wire tight to the stakes and then just a loose loop to hold them in place. Plenty of room for widening limbs and easy to adjust too. You'll see the wires in the pics.

Pictures

1 last thing I walked into the garage today and I've got 8, 1 QT jars on the table and a 3 QT jar, just sitting there. Roughly 11 oz. I've really gotten accustomed to having lotsa weed around. I suppose since the last flowers of my growing year are outside I can wait until October and then figure how much I've grown since October 2018.

You know what day it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
