The DeVille's White Widow & Bubbleicious - 8 Plants Under 2x Mars Pro II 320

I can easily leave my grows for at least a week with the 225 liter tank. Probably almost 2 weeks.

I'm currently gathering an auto pot and mars hydro system for my 1st ever grow.
I've gone with the auto pots as I have to be away a couple of days a week. Hope they'll do the job for me.
I've learned a lot from your last couple of journals....... Cheers

Think I'm gonna try out this "backbuilding" technique on at least parts of this grow. It's supposed to help build weight on the buds. You snip of the tip of each bud and that's supposed to encourage them to gain mass. I have no idea if it's actually working but from what I've seen it looks very promising. Any of you tried?

White Widow & Bubbleicious - Day 27
Loveryder & Jack Herer - Day 1

SPICING UP THIS JOURNAL WITH MY FIRST AUTO-GROW

Figured it was time to plant the Loveryder & Jack Herer auto-seeds. So I put them in a glass of water over the night

0013445.jpg

2x Loveryder from Bulk seed bank & 1x Jack Herer from Advanced seeds

I then planted the 3 seeds in 3x 6l Air-pots and put them in the mother-tent. The mother-tent is getting full, so I removed the catnip plants and gave them to the cats. It's still a little cold in the garage, so I'm running the Mars Pro 160 lamp on full 24/7. Thinking I maybe should have put the autos in the main-room, but the net will start filling out fast, so it's probably smarter to keep them in a more semi-permanent place. Will however move the autos outside as soon as the temperatures get high enough. There is still a risk for frost during the nights, so I can't do that yet. Maybe in 2-3 weeks time.

I then entered the main-room to check on the plants after I put up the net. The explosive growth has started allright. I already had to push branches and leaves under the net. This is going very very well and I'm a happy camper

Guess that was all for this time. So far I didn't really have any trouble, but we all know something will happen during this grow. I will scream, I will cry and I will panic - But in the end we'll get another great harvest - I hope :)

Thanks for following my grows folks. It's kinda shitty to not have anyone to show your accomplishments to. Can't tell your family, can't tell your neighbors and you can't tell your friends.

These days I'm very curious about the Mars cup. The last day was yesterday and I think they'll pick a winner soon. I don't know if I have any chances, but I did take some really good photos during the latest grow and I did an ok journal too. So I don't know. Maybe I have a chance? Will probably find out soon enough.

Eager to know who won that contest indeed :)

BTW - When it comes to autos - Will I get a better harvest if I top them or should I just let them grow without touching them?

Depends on the auto strain, pot size, nutrients, lots of factors. I would train but not top but depends in height restrictions or grow space.

I guess when it comes to size there is no restrictions as they're gonna finish outside - At least that's the plan. But this far north you never know. Could get a very cold rainy summer and lose it all to mold. Think I'll just take my chances as I don't have more space to put plants. Or - I do have plenty of space, but missing tent and other equipment. Do have the third Mars Pro II 320 of course. Could always put that to use if I got my hands on another tent. But the economy is really bad these days. Just can't spend more money on grow equipment now.

Sure thing Slow :) I'm really curious about the auto-grow myself as I'm a first timer when it comes to outside growing. Think I'm gonna keep them inside at least the first 3-4 weeks. Want to make sure the night-frost period is over first

Hi Dev,
Mind if I follow along? I'm a stones throw from N.B., and have done a few outdoor photo's. It's always a nail biter during finish, so I'm interested in the outdoor auto grow.
Just started indoor this year, and have been debating if I want to go back out.
:peacetwo:

Great news :) I got rid of the extra White Widow, the little Bubbleicous plant I had in the mother-tent, Big-Bud #1 and Pure power plant #2. I gave them to a friend of mine who wants to get started growing again. The deal is he give me some of his harvest, I give him some of mine. That way we'll never run out of stuff to smoke. And I get a lot more room for experimentation here. I made sure to tell him to clone the Big-Bud plant as that is the one that had a 60 gram cola. I kept the purple pheno myself. They both gave the same amount in total when done and they both are fantastic.

Think I'll re-pot the two remaining mothers. Put them into air-pots. That should keep them nice and healthy for a long period of time.

Also bought 10 tiny 1L air-pots. Will use them for clones. Keep them alive until they're ready to be scrogged :)

I'll get my hands on another tent as soon as possible. I want keep the main-room as it is now and then get a 120x120cm tent for the third Mars Pro II lamp. There I want to do some autos now and then, maybe do a scrog now and then. Try to make a system where I can harvest every 2 months.

It's strange - I never get enough pot.

Kinda sad Big-Bud #1 is gone :) But I'll get to smoke it again in two months time. The two previous mothers I gave my friend is going straight for flowering.

In the meantime - Here's a memory from the previous round. The 60 gram cola and friends

UPDATE #10

White Widow & Bubbleicious - Day 31
Loveryder & Jack Herer - Day 5
Big Bud & Pure Power Plant clones - Day 2

AUTOS SURFACING & TAKING CLONES

In the main-room, everything is going according to schedule. They're clearly thriving under the Mars Pro II lamps. Two lamps seems to be the perfect setup for this room. Keeping the environmental factors under control has been easy so far this run. Both strains are starting to fill out the net now. A couple of weeks more vegg time and we should be ready for flowering - I hope :) Maybe a little optimistic? The plants look very healthy. Except for the Bubbleicious that was slightly stunted. The leaves on that one look kinda weird, but it seems new growth look normal. Think I'm gonna keep my eyes open for male parts on that. I know that strain have a tendency to go hermie so that may be one of those suckers.

Bubbleicious - Day 31

In the mother-tent everything is looking great. I have some amazing news! All 3 autos have surfaced. In theory they're all supposed to be ready for harvest in 8 weeks, but I don't believe it until I see it. A little hard to see on this photo because they're still so tiny. Loveryder is supposed to be a dwarf, so that's gonna be fun to watch develop.

0052764.jpg

1x Jack Herer & 2x Loveryder surfaced over the night.

I cut 10 clones from Big-Bud and Pure Power Plant yesterday. Not 100% sure what to do with them, but I think I want to keep a few of them for next round. If I get my hands on a second tent I'll do a scrog with those strains in that one. I also want to use a few clones to make feminized seeds with colloidal silver. I see they sell it on the health-shop. PPM 13 the label says. I read somewhere that 10-15 PPM is supposed to do the trick. This project however also requires a second tent so I can isolate the plants with male parts from the rest.

I put them in a quite big RootIT growhouse I bought, filled the bottom tray with vermiculite and water pH'ed to 5,8 and then put it on top of a heatmat. I put the heatmat on a timer - 15 min on, 15 min off. Or else the clones would get cooked and die. So far temps are good, but I see they're still raising, so I may have to put the timer on 15 min on and 30 min off. Will keep a close eye on that the following hours. The clones look a little sad, but that's to be expected. I can see they're all stretching towards the light, so they're all alive.

After I took this photo, the temps have raised to 26.0 degrees. If the temp raise more I will change the heatmat settings.

Guess that's all for today. Not sure how fast I can get my hands on a second tent. Kinda low on cash these days.

Unplugged the heatmat. Growhouse is keeping temps around 26 degrees without it.

Wonder how long they will take to root this time. Using t5 this time. Put them on the kitchen sink. Feeling the entire property is becoming a pot factory. Have plants in 3 different buildings now. 23 plants if counting the clones

Clones seem to like being in the kitchen. Think I need to find a little more stealthy solution for cloning. But it works for now. We don't have much visitors out here anyway.

This is Pure Power Plant, and I think it's looking nice and healthy. Much better than yesterday. They're very much alive. Trying to keep them nice and moist. But also make sure to exchange the air under the dome several times per day.

I connected the heatmat again... Now 15 minutes every 3 hours :) That keeps it above 25 but below 26. At least for now.

An in between the updates update :)

Today I decided to trim down and re-pot the Pure Power Plant mother. It started to become root-bound in it's pot, so I moved it into a 6l Air-pot. Here's the thing - I decided to do a little experiment! I put soil over the complete stem and part of the branches. I believe they will eventually turn into roots and this should work out fine. This way I can dig up a branch whenever I need a clone and it will already be rooted - Anyone tried this?

0033186.jpg

Pure Power Plant back inside the tent after being re-potted

I removed about 60-70% of the plant before I re-potted it. Wanted to clean up and give the remaining branches some air. Think this will work out great. What do you think?

Pure Power Plant looked pretty much like the Big-Bud mother (photo below) before the cleaning and re-potting. If it works out well with Pure Power Plant, I'll to the same with this plant.
0042972.jpg

In the kitchen things are getting hot and moist. Check out this humidity :) Using wet vermiculite most certainly did the trick and boosted humidity in the grow-house. It actually keeps the RH around 70% even without the dome on.

0013452.jpg

Guess that was all for today. A lot going on here so see you folks later

Just realized the branches and stem may rot. It may be too much buried at once. I think I'll dig it up again as I can't risk to lose the genetics. When I'm certain the clones are rooting I can try again :)
