Hope you're good brother yeah it sucks when spillages happen. I've done it quite often and not always because I'm stoned just yesterday I used a new bit of pipe to water with and turns out it had a hole in it behind me .Here’s a sophisticated drip system ! Lol
Necessity is the mother of Invention !
“Boy did I have a mess to clean up last week” Lol
Your grow is looking good GV
Hey thanks for showing those GV, I need to add a short spout to my tray like you have pictured !!Hope you're good brother yeah it sucks when spillages happen. I've done it quite often and not always because I'm stoned just yesterday I used a new bit of pipe to water with and turns out it had a hole in it behind me .
I used to use pipe connectors in my trays to direct my water flow
I used to have a raised gate thing then point the run off pipes to one tray underneath.. I also had a pump In that bottom tray so I could just pump it out after it filled so many different ways depending on how creative you are or what you have available
What you growing now I didn't know you was back at it?
Thanks shed, just wrapping up fatties from here on outGreat wrap up GV,
Cheers bro, you will not regret that move brom. I'll be happy and jealous at the same time every pheno wasOk, GV I'm getting the Miami Maddness soon.. ..nice rap my brother!
No worries bro I used 13mm barbed connector as the cost near nothing. you can get straight or angles then just cut them in half. You wanna drill the hole a bit smaller so it doesn't leak eventually I removed the train and linked all my trays with flexible hose and ran it to a little container outside the tent.Hey thanks for showing those GV, I need to add a short spout to my tray like you have pictured !!
Sometimes it has come out sideways from the drain hole and misses the gallon jug aaaaarrrrrrr
That's exactly what i do, and it does suck, raise them up, water to runoff, wet vac out the remains and dump it in the sump pumpNice ..
I have to use plant risers and then shop vac for the watering pans..
Pain in the ass.
Great summary V, makes me want to try both the Cheese and Madness for sure. What are you growing next?Hey all just thought I'd better wrap this journal up as I think that the two before this were abandoned I'm working smoking and growing over here
So let's start with the Mind Melter which was the beast at the back.. I pulled about a ½oz off of it of half decent looking buds but more like B grade.. I haven't tried any yet as I got so much of the good shit but might give it a burn soon. It smells like fizzy sweets and that's the only reason I kept some other than that at a guess I lost a good 150g on that plant
Now the Exodus Cheese IIRC it weighed in at 330g of A grade that's between the two plants then with 2 mason jars of grade B (lighter buds) which I will still smoke all day. Also I have lots of Grade C flower mixed in with the trim too for edibles
Growing this cheese it had very little smell in the tent even in flower but if you brushed against it your doomed! But... this soon changed come harvest, the smell was uncontrollable! Most modern strains smell strong like fuel or gas but this smell was ten times stronger and it's more like chemical/paint smell. It was so strong I felt like I had a light headache and my stomach was turning almost sickly The actual cheese smell was in the back seat whilst the chemical smell was unbelievable it had a little hint of sweetness too. Once dried the smells kind of leveled out and the sweetness complimented the chemical smell and this is my strongest memory of cheese growing up, being from Luton that unique smell is what anyone would look for before they confirmed it's "proper cheese". Besides the smell she was a delight to grow, the only thing she didn't like was the cold. She didn't show stress with any of her droughts throughout the grow and would set straight back off after a watering. Her structure was short and stocky, the side branching was out of control so pruning is a must! Although a Indica dominant frame her leaves were quite narrow with the long middle finger and random double serrations. In flower she didn't stretch a lot but just stacked yo even more to create some huge colas.
Smoking the cheddar it doesn't taste like horrible chemicals but it tasted exactly how it smells, a strong hit of earth with a sweet chemical tone that leaves a pleasant creamy after taste. The thing with this cheese is its a creeper so you have to be careful especially if you have shit to do, you can be smoking away and only feel slightly high so most people will think I'll finish this now big mistake as by the time you're stoned that's only the beginning! This is the rabbit hole entrance the point when the high slowly walks you over to your chosen seat/bed then it covers you with a warm blanket. Your thinking I hope that's it but nope as the room twists and turns you feel that blanket really tuck you in tight. Your mouth is dry and munchies are kicking in "can someone grab me a drink" you'll be asking the first person that enters the kitchen lol and at this point is where exodus cheese will earn it's respect because next time your sticking with half like you usually do.
I think that explains it but when respected it's a very smooth clean high you can get a slight dizziness and very dry mouth but it's a very relaxing cheerful high. Depending on if you over do it there's a fine line between energetic or dead lol if you take it easy it's a great day smoker too but push it the high has no limits and takes no mercy.
Finally the Miami Madness. IIRC 321g of grade A in a 3gal pot and I think could do better if I still had her. I also got two mason jars of grade B flower and a lot of grade c with the trim. That's me really being anal too.
Growing this plant was a pleasure. During the droughts she would demand food showing signs of stress but this is because of her rapid growth. Even from seed she grew significantly faster than other plants in the tent taking it over. Come flower she really gave it some during stretch breaking loose of the string holding her back she's unstoppable.
From early flower & throughout, Miami madness shows beautiful purple colours and heavy trichome production.. stem rub would just be sweet weed but come harvest strong gas berries came out. The gas as usual was very strong but it died down as it dry/cured.
The smoke is absolute fire. She comes with the baseball bat to the head and takes you down being a very heavy hitter from the get go.. heavy relaxing body for the first part then slowly the drift you into a euphoric feeling... motivated & focused to take on any tasks that lie ahead or mentally focused organising goals, plans or things you need to manage. After thee hours still relaxed and now finishing with a nice head high. I love this high it's a very smooth rollercoaster from a great hybrid cross.. for me this strain will be deeply missed and I would definitely buy again.
I think that about sums it up and I can finally close one of my complete journals
Thanks again to anyone who followed along my little journey I am Very grateful for your time and hopefully theres some info here to whom may need it. With this journal being a success I have become a solid believer in all microbiology growing in Coco and will never again grow without it
Peac and love all
Broooooo my apologies I seem to have completely missed your post just looking back to compare pictures!Solid roots!
They're gonna explode at flip!
Thanks bro you probably won't ever find the cheese but the Miami madness will definitely make your love listGreat summary V, makes me want to try both the Cheese and Madness for sure. What are you growing next?
Thanks for having my back @budnoob3 it all depends on the strain. I would veg even longer and go wall to wall before flip but the SSSDH is definitely going to give it some during stretchReason I ask is because I have a tendency to switch to flower probably sooner in that space with a tent and try to keep everything same height whether it be scrog, or tie down/weigh down for stuff that will be transitioned outdoors. It’s early yet so I understand if you have another method you plan to implement soon which is why I’m curious. If you’re new and didn’t have a plan then we’re here to share ideas…
Great backstory GV, and I'm not being sarky!Hey @CBD BudMan answer to your questions from the top. The history of my 30yr old plant.
The exodus crew or exodus collective wiki:
a community collective and sound system formed in 1992, in the Marsh Farm area of Luton, England. It organised free parties and became involved in housing, social exclusion, and community projects, founded upon the principle of DIY culture. The group squatted buildings and repeatedly came into conflict with Bedfordshire Police, which by 1995 had resulted in Bedfordshire County Council voting for a public inquiry into alleged police harassment. The licence of a pub owned by the mother of people in the collective was revoked, a decision which was later overturned by a judicial review.
The collective occupied a disused farm and turned it into a community project which they later bought. The fortnightly raves in venues across Bedfordshire attracted up to 10,000 people and, especially during the Marsh Farm riots of 1995, served to defuse tensions locally. By 2000, the collective was holding licensed raves in agreement with landowners. The collective disbanded in 2000, later reforming under the name Leviticus. Some former members were then involved in the Marsh Farm Outreach community group, which successfully campaigned to build a local community centre.
So the above would have been something my parents would have gone to. I was too young and unfortunately didn't get to experience the main events. I attended the ass end of Leviticus and got to go to a couple of reunion raves around Luton.
What does this have to do with my 30YR old plant? Well at these raves you bet your ass there was plenty of drugs around. One in particular was Skunk as I remember my pearents would call it. Skunk became very popular over here and stayed that way for over a decade where me and my mates would chip in to buy nothing but the finest cheese... Yeah as you can see that in time the name had changed from skunk to cheese.. This happend quickly as in the beginning skunk was originally found down on the south coast and was preserved there. A member of the exodus crew was a friend of the southern grower and would bring skunk flower from the coast to Bedfordshire. Realising how good it was and how much it was loved he began to hand out clones of this skunk plant all over the UK to be grown everywhere and it was given out as cheese or skunk. In time it just became cheese or exodus cheese as it was them who flooded the country with it but this exodus cheese was still just a great Skunk1 pheno.
Decades later it started to be come harder to get hold of this plant but a friend of a friend was still close with the guy from the coast and fried with one of very few that still has this plant alive. A year ago I asked for and received some clones of this plant so being that clones are the same age as the mother, they was cut from a good 30yrs old plant.
Lastly as for the finally part I attempted to grow these in DWC but i wasn't happy with the growth in flower so waited a whole grow before I could flower them again I was almost a year after recieving the clones to smoking some bud
Also hope you can understand that as my writing skills are dreadful
Haha you know your bad when you have to clarify cheers broGreat backstory GV, and I'm not being sarky!
