smoke reports are nice to try to select from a bunch of strains you never had before, but be aware:
there are a lot of factors that go into taste/smoothness/potency/etc/etc. part of it is genetic for sure, but the other part is how it was grow, how it was dried, and how it was cured. . . this means that you can have the same strain from the same seed bank grown be two different people and one can be significantly better tasting, or more potent, or whatever.
I grew some LR#2's an they came out pretty good. . . thanks to the joint Doc, who developed the Low Ryder strain, and interest from the growing community, there has been an explosion of auto crosses coming out. seems almost every breeder has one or two. this is all due to the doc's hard work to stabilize that trait. . . now seed banks and little guys like me can use those genetics easily to make new autos.
I wouldn't discount them as a whole. But I am not claiming they are better either, just better for certain situations.
