got another question, i have 2 70watt hps bulbs (sylvania e17, ansi ballast s62) for outdoor security lights i want to have them for backup/ small grow space flowering, does anybody know where i could find the fixtures without the bulbs, HD has them for like 70$ but i dont need them with bulbs, and 140 bux is to much for 140 watts hps in my world, i dont care if they are used or not cheap is what im hoping for

doode im sick to my guts right now, its been hell since December and got the 400 watt hps i really wish i had never seen that light and started switching to hps, if i had stayed with cfl at least my plants would not be all hermied and screwed up, i would have lst'd and topped as needed and to be honest i think i would get more yield that way because they would not be all freaked out, i have lost track of how many times they have sat in the dark for 24-48 hours since i started flower,,if i was using multiple light sources that would not have happened ,the power has not blinked once since nov. my gf spiffy is growing the same straing in a lil cardboard box cfl stealth style, with no problems like me they are beautiful and healthy, no signs of stress at all,,,:peace:

So sorry about the ballast buddy...Dont mean to keep you talking about it, but what kind were you using before you got the JD 600?

it is a i-power 400watt dimmable digital, worked good for 6 weeks till it died, im getting it rma'd as soon as i can afford postage, now that i have the circuits mapped, i think i can keep it going, i will prolly get led's and start exploring some lower power more economical options, while i figure out if i like hps or not, i have spent alot of money in the last 4-5 months and still nothing but trailor trash to medicate with...(sigh)

Argh... Sorry man! I know your frustration. I would look into HTG Supply. I read up a bunch, both here and orher places to see what people were saying about their product. A couple searches turned up a bunch of reviews and discussion about the exact light I have, and only one person I found had an issue, but was over nighted a new one, without even being asked for the bad one back... Everyone else had nothing but praise... Dont give up on HPS just yet brother, all the baddest ass grows I've seen are using them...

just got off the phone with jd lighting (had a good chuckle with Jason) they seem really determined to help and are sending me 2 new ballasts so i can test different circuits in my house, and determine where and what the problem is, TALK ABOUT GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND!! that is impressive to me, i have some theories on whats going on, and will share when i get it figured out:thanks::high-five:

We can't wait to get the defected ballast back and conclude our theories. In the mean times hang in there and try your best! We'll try our best to sort out your issues without re-wiring :high-five:

im thinking i know what is going on ,i have been sitting here thinking, and had a couple :idea::idea: moments, i dont wanna say just yet what im thinking till i can prove it to myself, but i really think i got it this time,,i am gonna feel a little duh? but oh well live and learn, ever sit there staring at the blaring obvious and not see it? then blamo it hits you like a ton of bricks! yeah thats it,,ok nuff said for now:peace:

WELL IM NOT CELEBRATING JUST YET!! lol gotta test my theory first that will be early next week i imagine, i believe jd lighting wants my success its after all in both our best interests, and my problem will provide good in the feild data for quality control and maybe some r&d in the future, i really do wish there was a fuse or reset button, and my theory may prove that to be a good idea, because it is i think a very fixable problem ,,ahem stupidly fixable if im right,and im certain i am, but again not till i test it will i say what it is...you guys will laugh and mock my stupidity i fear lol :rofl: its all good i will deserve it if its correct!! still tho an honest misconception i think

well i still want a led light to test, and thinking about things, i have decided on a tent or 2 so i can move my girls to a cooler,safer place, any suggestions, promotions i should know about??,, here's the 2 i think i need/want

I have been wanting to try a tent out as well, I'll be in the market soon as I want another cab. I just don't know if it's worth the cash to buy the tents. It really did not caust me that much to build what I have. Anyone have input on tents VS DIY cabs?

Hard for a renter to go wrong with a tent. I used that sq meter one for a while.
Snake in the grass is wall to wall carpet from hell. Cheap-ass landlords :cough:

The mother-keeper is perfect size; 4 1020 trays fit handily and 4' T5 fixtures do too.

I gave-up on tents because they don't use my limited space as efficiently as screwing up some sheets.
Too, I'm practicing for the final solution in my next/last house ;)

i think all the ports/vents,mylar inside,lightproof factor,and lightweight portability, for 160 bones is cheaper than i could build something to match it, and certainly lighter imho and spiffy said she would get me one!
